Strategic Summary:

Today’s CDP features a return to the Different Dimension, as we finally have an archetype that is fully synergistic with your banishment and endlessly looping the effect of Necroface! As this also serves as its debut on my channel, let me start by introducing you to the Ars Magna. This newest addition to the Medius lore saga features Level 8 Effect Monsters that each can be Special Summoned from the banishment whenever a Link Monster is Special Summoned, and they each have an effect to advance your gamestate by banishing themselves from hand. Take Ars Magna of Purification and Corruption (YGOrg Translation), the WIND Dragon, which can be banished to tutor any Ars Magna S/T. Additionally, each applies a lingering effect to Power Patron Link Monsters you control, leading us to the main boss of this strategy: Medicurius the Power Patron of Illusions (YGOrg Translation). This LINK-3 boasts 3000 ATK (9000, if you banish Ars Magna of Infinity and Finity (YGOrg Translation)) and it is unaffected by your opponent’s activated effects once it points to 2 monsters. If it points to 3, it even can banish itself and all cards the opponent controls during their turn as a Quick Effect!

Alright, now that you’ve met the core archetype, let’s talk about how the rest of the deck is built to flesh out a well-rounded banish strategy. To start you have Gold Sarcophagus, Curse of the Ancient Turtle, Allure of Darkness, and D.D. Post, each of which is ideal for banishing your copies of Necroface from various locations. Once you do, Necroface will trigger to banish the top 5 cards of both players decks, leading into even more summons and/or effects if you happen to banish cards like Dark Necromancer, D.D. Scout Plane, or Genro Ryu-Ge Hakva. Or, you might just banish Ghoti monsters instead, such as Paces, Light of the Ghoti, which will return during the following Standby Phase and allow you to Synchro Summon Ghoti of the Deep Beyond during the opponent’s turn with any of your Level 8 Ars Magna monsters. In short – all of these free summons add up quick, guaranteeing that your Medicurius has a full complement to point to. Join the Chaos of Banishment with the new Ars Magna, a small Power Patron engine, and a ton of potential!
