If there must be a God, there must be a Monster.
AGOV-JP042 厄災の星ティ・フォン Logiastellar T-PHON (Stellar Nemesis T(Y)-PHON – Doomsday Star)
Rank 12 DARK Fiend Xyz Effect Monster
ATK 2900
DEF 2900
Materials: 2 Level 12 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using 1 monster you control with the highest ATK during the turn, or the next turn after, your opponent Special Summoned 2 or more monsters from the Extra Deck. (Transfer its materials to this card.) If Summoned this way, you cannot Normal or Special Summon other monsters for the rest of this turn.
(1) Neither player can activate the effects of monsters with 3000 or more ATK while you control this Xyz Summoned card.
(2) Once per turn: You can detach 1 material from this card; return 1 monster on the field to the hand.
Note: Its Japanese Name means basically Logic of the Stars.
It’s also named after Typhon, a nightmare monster born from Gaia by her copulating with the darkest regions of the underworld, Tartarus, as revenge against the Olympians for betraying her.
As a result, while it sounds like T-PHON, there’s a non-zero chance of articulating it as TY-PHON.

So it is basically link-1 floodgate when going second?
Thanks, Konami we all definitely want more easy floodgate, now every deck can run this.
ye but “If Summoned this way, you cannot Normal or Special Summon other monsters for the rest of this turn.”
With that wording, you can summon it after you finish your combo. So that lock is as strict as Fusion Destiny.
OMG IT DOESNT SAY “1 xyz monster”
IT JUST SAYS “1 monster”
This is a staple in almost every deck now.
Inmediately upon seeing it was a 12 star XYZ i though: “yeah no, there is no way this guy doesnt have a ‘you can also XYZ this’ effect, this is gonna be another Zeus” AND IT WAS INDEED, ANOTHER ZEUS HOLY CRAP this is good stuff
One of konami employee have brain fart : yeah remember V.F.D now we make “nerf” version of it you know it’s only last 1 turn and they can’t normal summons for that turn
How does this card have anything in common with VFD? It locks *you* out of summoning for the rest of the turn and has an ignition bounce. Yes, it negates monsters with 3000 or more atk, but more often than not, that is only one or two monsters anyways. You can still combo and kill this on the way.
Why does this remind me of Mazinger ZERO for some reason. Must be the Fiend type
So, is this like AA-ZEUS’s rival or something? Rank 12 Xyz with alternative summoning condition. Plus the fact it negates the effect of 3000+ ATK monsters immediately makes me think its meant to stop ZEUS, among other things.
Yeah, it is based on Typhon, one of Zeus’s primary enemies in Greek mythology.
Yup, the naming is also similar to Zeus’ Negalogia AA-Zeus.
The fact that this mf can be used in any deck like MaxxC.. Man, konami really loves toxic cards more than luring new players to the game. This is why yugioh is not new player friendly.
Lol, the people believing this is another Calamities and not realizing it’s actually a fair out to omni-negates on big bodies like Baronne, because it can’t be used alongside them by the first turn player. This thing was necessary to power creep those annoying omni-negates.
The one-card floodgate that can be used as a staple of any deck.. Let alone the eff, the problem is you can use it in every deck like Fenrir without the claaasic “just draw the out”.
Omni-negates can also be used in any deck and when there’s more than one it’s worse than a floodgate. And this is balanced cause it isn’t one-sided, can’t be used on the first turn and it has lots of outs that don’t need to be drawn into. This is just another case of over-reaction from some people.
Agreed people are overestimating the power on this card. It’s pretty much useless going 1st and does pretty much nothing to stop your opponent from comboing on their turn since most combos aren’t reliant on 3k beaters activating their effect. Any deck that ends on I:P going first doesn’t really need to care about this guy. The bounce effect isn’t even a quick effect.
Maybe I’m out of touch, but this card kinda sucks, I’m not even trolling. The idea behind it is that it can be used to stop big bad omni-negates like Baronne, but this card has to be summoned last due to it stopping all other summons when he’s brought out using a single monster. What good is stopping omni-negates if all you have is a 2900 ATK monster who can be ran over by said omni-negates anyways? Say you summon it last, then you probably already went through all the omni-negates your opponent had to begin with, so what is the point of stopping them now? The bounce nor summon is even a quick-effect so you can’t summon it on your opponents turn neither.
Are you good my friend ? Do you even play enough children’s card games to know how to abuse this ?
Yeah. He’s awful for combo decks but he’s awesome for trap decks to buy a turn to get their backrow set up if they lose the coin flip.
Yeah this is only gonna be good in like, lab, etc, because either A: you drop it at the start of your turn to shut off your opponents interactions and then you cannot play for the rest of your turn and it’s only 2900 so you can’t even beat over the problem monsters, or B: you drop it at the end of your combo and it gets folded by SP Little Knight or Unicorn or something on your opponents turn because surprise surprise a monster doesn’t need to be 3k to have a removal effect.
Mistake on legs, Macro Cosmos on legs and now Mystic Mine on legs or more like Azathoth 2.0 ?? Btw I really like the art.
Should have been “3000 or LESS ATK except this card”
Konami powercreep’d the powercreep.
Ah yes, the Liber Legis to Zeus’ Demonbane is finally here.
oh my GOD he’s Fiend, not only does this help all trap decks, its viable in Labrynth too.
feels like labrynth becoming konami’s golden child recently
It’s kinda mid. It gets easily auted by spot removal, even I:P(since both she and unicorn/S:P are small) and you have to basically give up your turn after you summon it. Yeah you can bait things out but you still have to interact with your opponent before you summon it just for it to be beaten by battle next turn by the monsters it’s supposed to stop, or by unicorn/s:p/cerberus.
It is low commitment and is also an interruption. This on top of an already established board is just icing on the cake. This will be annoying to deal with.
I Don’t get it how is this low investment. To Summon this with 1 card u have to control highest Attack and this card only stop monster with 3k pluss. So u have to commit summon high Attack monster which almost impossible when they have so many interuption. Because there is no point Summon this against monster with atk 3k lowet.
This card is best paired with the Armored Xyz archetype also released in this set.
The Full Armored Xyz trap card lets you Xyz summon on the opponent’s turn.
Sharks is one of the few decks that can easily summon this, though not sure if it’s worth it over Xyz summoning Bagooska on the opp turn.
“You can also Xyz Summon this card by using 1 monster you control with the highest ATK” just means you have to use your strongest monster, not that you have to have the strongest monster. You could normal summon a 0 atk monster and go into this.
Oh bou can’t wait for the turn 0 sheananigans that are coming
