Application changes following the rules update
February 2nd, 2023
There are cases where the way in which an effect is applied or resolved according to its text is updated. In that case, please Duel following the new application/resolution starting from the date in which the changes take effect.

Regarding effects that say “can be treated as 2 tributes”

There are some cards that say “[Effect] During this turn, if you Tribute Summon a […]-Type monster in Attack Position, you can treat this face-up card as 2 tributes”.
For this text, if you tribute 1 monster and treat it as 2 tributes, it is treated as if you tributed 2 monsters with the same card name and status as that monster.

Example of the previous application:
If you Tribute Summon a “Royal Rebel’s Doom Metal” from your hand by tributing only 1 “Royal Rebel’s No Wave” that was affected by the effect of “Excutie Up!,” its effect cannot be activated.

Example of the new application:
If you Tribute Summon a “Royal Rebel’s Doom Metal” from your hand by tributing only 1 “Royal Rebel’s No Wave” that was affected by the effect of “Excutie Up!,” its effect can be activated.
