Strategic Summary:
Today’s profile centers on the most recent TCG-premiere Ritual archetype, the Libromancers. These book-savvy Rituals leap out of your hand and onto your board through Ritual Summoning via Field Spell, specifically Libromancer First Appearance. This Field can Ritual Summon any number of Libromancer monsters, in addition to tutoring a new Libromancer monster when first activated. As far as the Rituals themselves, we currently only have two: Libromancer Doombroker, which is a Level 6 that can tutor a Libromancer Trap from your deck and can spin a face-up monster your opponent controls back to the deck, and Libromancer Firestarter, a Level 3 Ritual that eventually becomes an indestructible and unbanishable 3000 ATK monster once your opponent has activated enough cards or effects. These monsters are supported by the key part of the archetype, the normal effect monsters, such as Libromancer Agent, which recovers Libromancer cards from your GY. The other primary Effect monster is Libromancer Geek Boy, which tutors a Libromancer Spell when Special Summoned. Plus, each of these Libromancers can also Special Summon themselves from the hand by revealing any Ritual monster!
Given that we only have the first wave of support, I needed to be creative here, so I’m pulling out all the stops to support this fledgling Ritual theme. The core of this support is Borreload Riot Dragon, a recent Ritual monster from DIFO that can recover itself from the GY by destroying any card in your hand or field. Since it is a Ritual named in its Ritual Spell, Heavy Interlock, this pairs well with the iconic Ritual support, Pre-Preparation of Rites. With all of the destruction comes opportunity, leading to the logical inclusion of Nine-Tailed Fox and Baobaboon, both of which love to be destroyed to give you greater field presence. Finally, a small Diviner of the Herald and Ritual Sanctuary engine close out the build in style, offering even more Ritual support for the deck to shine. Don’t just read about this new theme, start the next chapter of your favorite themes with the Libromancers!
