General reminder: The Princess Cup is a small tournament held at Konami hosted events called “Female Duelist Meetings”. At select locations across Japan, Konami holds these events which are open to only women and girls. There, women can learn how to play the game, play casually and play in small competitive tournaments for prizes.
As to why Konami feels the need to hold a women only event, the usual reasons for these sort of events for things like Table Tops is to provide a safe location with low peer pressure, and to avoid male players, who across CCGs and Table Top gaming have a less than stellar track record dealing with women participating in their hobbies.
