Strategic Summary:

Today’s CDP features the return of the Witchcrafter theme to my channel, and this time I’m boiling it down to their most essential core – Playing Spell cards and winning the grind game. Bolstered by its new support in RV01, the Witchcrafter theme’s biggest addition is the introduction of Witchcrafter Walpurgis (YGOrg Translation), a Field Spell that lets you send a Witchcrafter S/T from Deck to the GY instead of discarding to activate your Witchcrafter monster effects. In other words, it means that when Witchcrafter Schmietta turns into Witchcrafter Genni, which turns into Witchcrafter Madame Verre, you get 3 Witchcrafter Spells in the GY for your trouble! Accessing Walpurgis is also easy with the help of Witchcrafter Marka (YGOrg Translation), a new DARK Level 6 that also happens to bridge into Dark Magician of Destruction AND serve as disruption during the opponent’s turn if they cause a Witchcrafter to leave the field by card effect.

While the Witchcrafter theme was previously known for its powerful Fusion Monster in Witchcrafter Vice-Madame, the deck has also received additional Fusion support to make this the defining trait of the theme. First is Witchcrafter Celebration (YGOrg Translation), a Quick-Play Spell that allows you to Fusion Summon using Spellcasters from your GY or banishment. Then there’s Witchcrafter Terracottan (YGOrg Translation), a new Level 2 EARTH Spellcaster that recovers a Witchcrafter card from GY to Special Summon from hand, then it can Fusion Summon any Witchcrafter once it is on field. For the new Fusion options, there is Witchcrafter Madame Rilliona (YGOrg Translation), which summons up to 3 Witchcrafter monsters from the Deck with different Attributes, and Witchcrafter Pupils (YGOrg Translation), which can either tutor or ‘copy’ a Witchcrafter Spell, during either player’s Main or Battle Phase via Quick Effect. Combine this with the Endymion Witchcrafter support in Verre, the Maid of Endymion (YGOrg Translation), Witchcrafter Seed (YGOrg Translation), and you can fully cut back on all of the Witchcrafter names that used to be mandatory to succeed with the strategy! This even buys room for a larger Magistus engine, with Spenta, the Magistus Sealer leading to additional Fusion plays of its own! Craft your future, with the Witchcrafters.
