An Asperstional Archetype Arrives!

Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for another CDP, and today I am showcasing a fledgling Angelechy build, fresh off of its first wave of support in Chaos Origins. While it isn’t fully fleshed out enough yet to be fully successful, the Angelechy archetype primarily consists of LIGHT/Fairy Synchro monsters that benefit from being placed into the S/T zone as Continuous Spells. For example, Angelechy Destrier tutors any Angelechy Spell when you do, then later it causes the opponent to take 500 damage each time one of their card or effects resolves. On the other side as monsters, each Synchro has a slightly different flavor on banishing an opponent’s card, such as Angelechy Bastion which banishes any other card in its column. This theme is also directly supported by the first ‘going 2nd’ Normal Trap card, Angelechy Opening to e4, which can be activated from the hand during the Standby Phase of a first turn after your opponent chose to go first, placing Angelechy Problem in the Field Zone, summoning an Angelechy to the EM Zone, and placing an Angelechy into your backrow. That’s one strong opening!
To pair with this new theme, I’ve elected to go with a heavy Assault Mode Activate engine, including their latest new boss monster, Red Nova Dragon/Assault Mode. This theme boasts a lot of Synchro Summoning capability, with Psi-Reflector and/or Emergency Teleport opening up the standard one-card combos, to Assault Sentinel and Assault Lich offering a more creative flair for making Level 8 Synchros. Either way, the goal is to get both Red Nova Dragon/Assault Mode and Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode onto the field, which is quite easily accomplished once you factor in Duel Evolution – Assault Zone and Nightwinged Cleric. These normal Assault Mode combos also add an Assault Counter to your endboard, giving you even more disruption going into the opponent’s turn! Finally, just to round everything out and have even more Synchro power, I’ve turned to a Fallen of White engine… which may certainly be expensive, but it carries its weight quite well. Hope you like this first take on the Angelechy tribe, and I’ll definitely be back to cover this theme again once the next wave has been revealed.
