Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for another CDP, this time featuring the Arcana Force archetype returning to grace my channel with its presence. The Arcana Force theme makes its own luck, with each monster offering one of two effects depending on a coinflip on summon – or simply have Light Barrier on the field, and you get to choose the result of your choice! Since the last time I covered the theme on my channel, there’s been a few new cards, so let’s talk about each! First up is Goddess of the Two Sides, a Level 3 LIGHT Fairy that tutors any other monster that tosses a coin on summon, plus you can toss a coin to double ATK or send all monsters you control to the GY and draw 1 card. Alongside Arcana Reading, this searches the entire Arcana Force archetype, but they also have a new searcher as well in Candelato, the Phantom Beast of Light (YGOrg Translation), as this Level 12 Phantom Beast monster can discard 2 other cards to summon itself, while tutoring any card that tosses a coin.
With all that search power, what do you do with it? Well first option is to just access your pseudo-FTK in Arcana Force XXI – The World, which can allow you to skip your opponent’s turn and setup for a clean victory. If that doesn’t work, you can turn to the other new option, Arcana Force XII – The Hangman (YGOrg Translation) instead, to win via burn damage! You see, Hangman can summon any Arcana Force (including itself) from hand when any card or effect is activated, then once summoned, its Tails effect allows you to destroy a monster the opponent controls and inflict its ATK as damage. While there’s a lot of great uses for this, I particularly enjoy summoning The World to the opponent’s field with Arcana Force V – The Hierophant, then later destroying it for 3100 free damage. And if you happened to have Triple Tactics Talent or Triple Tactics Thrust, well that Arcana Force is going to activate an effect when summoned. Anyways, enjoy the twists and turns of fate, with the power of COINS!
