Contact Fusions and Regular Fusions!
Replays:
Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP returns back to the massive HERO archetype, this time focusing down on the Elemental HERO, Masked HERO, and Neo-Spacian themes, rather than trying to shove all of the HERO sub-archetypes into one build. If you missed my last HERO profile doing just that, be sure to check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9h61kU26tw
Now that you’re back, let’s talk about the new cards. First up is Miracle Ejector (YGOrg Translation), a new Level 3 EARTH Spellcaster that also counts as an Elemental HERO card, which Special Summons itself from the hand by sending any Neo-Spacian from the Deck to the GY, then it tutors any S/T that mentions an Elemental HERO card name. This works extremely well with the Elemental HERO Neos support, specifically EN – Engage Neo Space, EN Wave, and EN Shuffle, giving you a few different ways to launch into Fusion-based HERO combos. This card is also important for one other major reason – it allows for consistent combo strings to prepare 3 different Neo-Spacian monsters to allow for a Favorite Contact into Elemental HERO Cosmo Neos during the opponent’s turn, turning off their cards/effects for the rest of the turn.
The other major addition to the HERO theme is 2 new Favorite HEROes, Favorite HERO Flame Wingman (YGOrg Translation) and Favorite HERO Shining Flare Wingman (YGOrg Translation). The first is made of any 2 monsters with the same Type but different Attributes, while the second recycles 5 monsters from the GY to draw 2 cards. Outside of HERO, these two are perfect for Super Polymerization, but inside the HERO strategy, they have cool synergies with other support cards like EN Wave or just by being other decent options to make with Miracle Fusion. The last big HERO engine within today’s build is the Masked HEROes, with Masked HERO Dusk Crow leading into Masked HERO Fountain (YGOrg Translation) or Masked HERO Furnace. Mask Change is great and all for Masked HERO Dark Law purposes, but I personally think their bigger impact on the HERO strategy is their ability to provide a variety of extenders to help you keep playing the game through disruption… such as Nibiru.
On a closing note, I also want to address a few other options you could consider incorporating into your own HERO builds of this flavor, if you want to try building it yourself. The obvious first option would be to change out the Neo-Spacians, such as using Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin and Elemental HERO Aqua Neos over the Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab and Elemental HERO Magma Neos. You could even explore Neo-Spacian Air Hummingbird and the opportunity to add Elemental HERO Storm Neos, if you like LP gains. A second option would be to lean harder into using the Masked HERO component for Fusion Summons, by including copies of Contrast HERO Chaos into the Extra Deck. Finally, to carry on with the Neo-Spacian theme, you could turn to Neo Space Connector as your primary Normal Summon (over the Elemental HERO Stratos that carried my build), to enable better access to your Neo-Spacians and Elemental HERO Neos. This minimizes routes through Elemental HERO Spirit of Neos in combos. Regardless, HERO has become quite plug-and-play, so I hope some of this inspires you to try it out yourself!
