The Number C strategy evolves!

Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP turns the spotlight to the new and improved Umbral Horror strategy, following the reveal of its new 10-card support wave in Beyond the Brave. This theme consists of Level 4 monsters that aim to Xyz Summon up into the Number monsters between 101 and 107, in particular, Number 104: Masquerade, and ultimately CXyz Chaos Barian Hope Dragon (YGOrg Translation). But before we get into all that in the Extra, let’s start with the core monsters, such as Gorgonic Umbral Horror (YGOrg Translation). This Level 4 DARK Rock summons itself from hand and tutors any other Umbral Horror monster, which includes the new Shining Umbral Horror (YGOrg Translation), which can then immediately summon itself from hand and let you draw a card. If that’s not enough for any R4NK Xyz Summon, you can also turn to V Umbral Horror (YGOrg Translation), which tutors an Umbral Horror on summon, or Thousand Umbral Horror (YGOrg Translation), which places their Field Spell Seventh Barian’s (YGOrg Translation) onto the field, which, you guessed it, also can tutor an Umbral Horror monster.
With all of this Main Deck consistency, it just makes sense that their Extra Deck does some more of the same, so that brings us to the R4NK Number 104: Masquerade Vain (YGOrg Translation). This monster can tutor any Barian’s S/T by detaching a material, plus if a monster was Xyz Summoned using it, it forces the opponent to banish monsters of 4 different attributes and a Spell from their deck, and if they do not, they must banish the top 10. Of course the natural progression for Vain is to tutor Rank-Up-Magic Limited Barian’s Force, since it can turn Vain into its Number C104: Umbral Horror Masquerade Victory (YGOrg Translation) upgrade, a R5NK that can destroy an opponent’s card via Quick Effect, defeat just about whatever monsters by battle it wants, then discard a card from their hand before halving their LP. Eventually, you can even use Number C104 for the summon of CXyz Chaos Barian Hope Dragon, which will lock your opponent from adding cards from Deck to hand, except by drawing!
Now because Umbral Horror Thousand and the generic support option of Garbage Golem (YGOrg Translation) are DARK Fiends with 0 ATK/DEF, I’ve chosen to further support the consistency of this build by including Nightmare Throne and a Yubel package, giving you even more on-ramps to your Umbral Horror combos. If that is unnecessary, it just adds a Phantom of Yubel to your endboard, insulating your plays from further disruption. This insulation can be extremely helpful for one main reason – the Umbral Horror strategy has its own 1-card FTK if you open Gorgonic, due to damage from Number C104: Umbral Horror Masquerade, Number C39: Utopia Ray V, and the End Phase burn of Seventh Barian’s… as demonstrated in one of the later replays of my video. Take on a Seventh Victory, with the help of the new and improved Umbral Horror archetype!
