[MW] Dogmatika Has “Taken” Over The Market

Bolt SpiderBy Bolt SpiderOctober 29, 20252 Comments

What in Dogma’s name is going on he… Is that a Penguin?

With the new THE CHRONICLES DECK: The Fallen & the Virtuous Structure Deck being released this past week to the world, as well as Burst Protocol to the OCG, we’ve seen shifts in the market for additional cards that weren’t reprinted. From new hype from Burst Protocol to Genesys shake-ups, let’s dive into this week of what has been going on.

More cards from the Story of White Lore have been bought up by the players due to how amazing The Fallen & The Virtuous card is, and it has led to Dogmatikamatrix’s price to rise. Being a part of the Ritual side of Dogmatika, when Dogmatikamatrix is activated, it adds a Dogmatika Ritual Monster or Dogmatika Ritual Spell from your Deck to your hand, and then if your opponent controls a monster, you can add an additional Dogmatika card from your Deck to your hand. This allows you to have access to more copies of The Fallen & The Virtuous, as it counts itself as both a Branded card and a Dogmatika card. The other effect is extremely impactful as well, as if you control a Dogmatika Ritual Monster, you can look at either player’s Extra Deck and send any monster from it to the GY, making it a perfect way to get free knowledge on what your opponent is playing and take out important monsters with little to no cost needed.

Despian Quaeritis is another card that also saw a spike in sales with the new support for Branded. For one thing, it’s fairly easy to bring out, since its Fusion Materials are just a LIGHT/DARK monster and a Despia monster. This card allows you to (Quick Effect) change the ATK of all monsters on the field to 0 until the end of the turn, except Level 8 or higher Fusion Monsters. This can help you survive a Battle Phase or help you finish the game with all the 2500+ ATK Fusion Monsters the Deck has access to. Then if Quaeritis leaves the field by an opponent’s card effect, you can add to your hand, or Special Summon, 1 Fallen of Albaz. This allows you to either fuse away the opponent’s monsters into a new Fusion Monster or have a follow-up for your next turn since Aluber the Jester of Despia can add either Branded Fusion or the new The Fallen & The Virtuous Spell Card to your hand.

Finally, going away from Branded Despia, I have been having my eyes on Gigantic “Champion” Sargas with the new support Springans received in Burst Protocol. “Champion” Sargas is a powerhouse of a card, as you can use any Springans Xyz Monster you control as its Xyz Material, and while it has an Xyz Material, you can add 1 Springans or Therion card from your Deck to your hand. Also, if materials are detached from a monster(s) on the field, you can target a card on the field and either return it to the hand or destroy it. The new Tri-Brigade Springans Kitt (YGOrganization Translation) and Gung-Ho! Springans! (YGOrganization Translation) add a new wave of power to the Deck, as the new Kitt can Special Summon herself from the hand if you control another Tri-Brigade or Springans monster, which gives you an additional Level 4 monster on your field for an Xyz Summon of Springans Merrymaker. Then if she is sent to the GY, you can Special Summon a Tri-Brigade monster, Springans monster, Fallen of Albaz, or a monster that mentions it from your GY. This can be extremely useful to summon back any of your Springans Xyz monsters to Xyz Summon “Champion” Sargas. As for Gung-Ho! Springans!, that card requires at least 2 Level 4 Springans monsters as material, and Kitt makes this easy. When it is Xyz Summoned or sent to the GY, you can Special Summon 1 Springans Captain Sargas from your Deck or GY. And like Tri-Brigade Springans Kitt, you can detach 2 materials from this card to either add to your hand or Special Summon 1 Tri-Brigade monster, Springans monster, Fallen of Albaz, or a monster that mentions it from your Deck.

These three cards are essential to their respective strategies, and thanks to the new support that was released, they have boosted their power more for their respective decks.

Secreterion Dragon is in the limelight again as Dracotail has taken over the format and has been boosted in power thanks to Konami putting Dimensional Barrier on the Forbidden section. While you control this Fusion Summoned card, your opponent cannot activate the effects of Special Summoned Dragon and Spellcaster monsters on their field, which could be vital against the mirror match or against other Dragon/Spellcaster Decks like Blue-Eyes Primite. By targeting both a Dragon and Spellcaster in your GY, you can Special Summon 1 of the targets and place the other on the bottom of the Deck, which is great to pair with Dracotail Lukias (which searches for any Dracotail monster), Mululu (which allows you to Quick Effect: Fusion Summon a Dracotail Fusion Monster, then negate a monster your opponent controls), or Phryxul (which targets an additional Dracotail monster in the GY and Special Summons it to your field and returns 1 monster you control to the hand).

Even though we’ve covered this card a couple times now, it’s still an extremely solid card, especially with it being an amazing Super Polymerization option against Dracotail too.

With Exosister’s new support finally rearing its face, Ichiki Sayori-Hime has been a card that players have been picking up for the deck. Paired with any monster that has 800 ATK or DEF, like Aratama or any of the Exosister monsters, you can immediately Normal Summon Ichiki Sayori-Hime, and if it is Normal Summoned, you can add 1 Level 4 LIGHT or DARK monster with 800 ATK or DEF from your Deck to your hand. This can help you place 2 Level 4 monsters on the field so you can Xyz Summon Exosister Mikalis, Asophiel, or Gibrine. The most powerful monster you can add with Ichiki Sayori-Hime is Exosister Martha.

With every advancement made to help out other decks, this is one of the best cards to add to any Exosister Deck for the free Xyz materials for your Exosister Xyz Monsters.

Genesys hype has hit the P.U.N.K. Deck as players have been picking up Noh-P.U.N.K. Rising Scale, the newest addition to the Deck from Battles of Legend: Monster Mayhem. By banishing 1 other P.U.N.K. card from your hand or GY, you can Special Summon Rising Scale from your hand, and if this card is Special Summoned, you can pay 600 LP to add or Special Summon any non-Level 8 P.U.N.K. monster from your Deck or GY. With this effect, you can Special Summon Noh-P.U.N.K. Ze Amin in order to add any P.U.N.K. monster from your Deck to your hand, or Special Summon Ukiyoe-P.U.N.K. Sharakusai, which allows you to Fusion Summon a P.U.N.K. Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. Finally, when a monster your opponent controls with 2500 or more ATK activates its effect, you can (Quick Effect) change that monster to face-down Defense Position. This is a great way to interrupt core pieces of a strategy if they need to perform a Summon from the Extra Deck.

With this card still being new, it has been seeing many sales over the past couple weeks as players have been testing out what the Deck can do. Maybe we will see a grand performance of Fiendsmith P.U.N.K. at the next YCS in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in a couple weeks.

A new Penguin has been added to the flock, and First Penguin (YGOrganization Translation) isn’t something to mess around with, as if you control no face-up monsters, you can Special Summon it from your hand for free, and if you do, it is treated as a Tuner. By revealing a WATER Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck, you can add 1 WATER monster from your Deck with the same type but 1 Level lower than the revealed monster. This caused a fallout on many of the Water Synchro Monsters in the game, but for the players who love Penguins, my eyes have been on revealing a copy of Penguin Brave from your Extra Deck to add a copy of The Great Emperor Penguin. It sets up a free monster to tribute for The Great Emperor Penguin, and then you can tribute Emperor itself to Special Summon up to 2 other Penguin monsters from your Deck. This card starts any of your Penguin combos, as you can Special Summon Glacial Beast Polar Penguin and Penguin Squire to your field.

Recently, this card has seen a reprint due to OTS Tournament Pack 17 in 2021, and it has been a while since we’ve seen a Penguin card since Burst of Destiny and Brothers of Legends. It’s going to be interesting seeing players test out Penguin, especially with how it meshes with the K9 engine quite well.

Since Burst Protocol has been released in the OCG, and both sides of the game have gotten access to THE CHRONICLES DECK: The Fallen & the Virtuous Structure Deck, it has shaken up the game a little to where Branded is returning to being a competent rogue Deck once again. And now, the TCG awaits the release of Burst Protocol, which will grant us Spenta, Seal of the Magistus, and many of the cards that will help boost older strategies in the current game.
