New Revolution Booster and Chronicles? No problem.

With all the major events finished for the 2025-2026 Season for Yu-Gi-Oh!, many cards on the market have calmed down, while others are continuing to rise as the next season starts in two weeks. In today’s Market Watch, we will be diving into the worlds of Spellcasters and Wizards for cards that help support Magistus and Endymion, as the new Chronicles Deck DX: Magistus was announced last night and is releasing later this year. Along with diving into the depths to look at cards players are picking up for Ghostrick, Marincess, and Cubic for the new cards that will be releasing later this year in the new Revolution Booster: -Cubic & Marincess & Ghostrick-. It wasn’t originally planned to cover anything from these Decks, but Konami revealed both new sets, and many players are excited about the new support for Ghostrick, Marincess, Cubic, Magistus, and Endymion. So let’s dive into this week’s article and see what has been going down on the market.

Ghasts and Ghouls Rise From the Depths

Ghostrick is one of the many Decks that have a passionate fanbase behind the theme, and they are finally receiving 7 brand-new cards in the next Revolution Booster. So the best place to start is Ghostrick Alucard, their only Rank 3 monster. It has seen plenty of play over the years, as its removal effect lets you detach 1 Xyz Material from it to target and destroy 1 Set card your opponent controls. For the Ghostrick Deck itself, it also prevents your opponent from targeting face-up Ghostrick monsters and face-down Defense Position monsters for attacks, except Alucard himself. And lastly, Alucard has a great recursion effect, as when it’s sent to the GY, you can target 1 other Ghostrick card in your GY to add it back to your hand.

Another powerful and not-so-scary Xyz Monster that Ghostrick has access to is their Ghostrick Angel of Mischief. By being a powerful Rank 4 Xyz Monster that can be Xyz Summoned by using any Ghostrick Xyz Monster you control, except herself, as material (and for good reason), she can win any Duel if the number of Xyz Materials she has becomes 10. Other than this, she has a “soft” once-per-turn effect that lets you detach a material from her to add any Ghostrick Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand, and once per turn, you can attach 1 Ghostrick card from your hand to her as material, which lets you have additional ways to search for later turns or helps you with her duel-winning effect.

Marincess is one of the biggest themes to receive new support, as it was a rogue Deck years ago that could play well into many Meta Decks, but it has fallen out of favor with recent card design. Marincess Blue Slug is one of their many Link-1 monsters that helps recursion via her Link Summon effect since she targets and adds 1 other Marincess monster from your GY to your hand, but you cannot Special Summon for the rest of the turn except WATER monsters. Even though you can only Link Summon this card once per turn, the extra recursion of a card from the GY that you either Linked away or sent to the GY off of Marincess Blue Tang’s effect is extremely important for many of the combo lines that the Deck has.

Along with Blue Slug, Marincess Blue Tang is an important card for the Deck as its Normal/Special Summon effect lets you send 1 Marincess monster from your Deck to the GY to help set up combos with Marincess Blue Slug’s effect that adds any Marincess monster from your GY to your hand. If this card is used as Link Material for a WATER Link Monster, she allows you to excavate the top 3 cards of your Deck, add 1 excavated Marincess card to your hand, and shuffle the other 2 cards back into the Deck. This is great for the Deck as it can get to Marincess Dive or Marincess Wave, two of the best Spells/Traps in the whole theme, even if they are both 1-ofs in the strategy, and it is because of all the GY recursion the Deck has.

With the amount of recursion being absolutely insane in Marincess, Marincess Coral Anemone is another one of these cards. By requiring 2 WATER monsters as its Link Materials, this card can target and Special Summon 1 WATER monster with 1500 or less ATK from your GY to a Zone this card points to, but you’re locked into WATER monsters for the rest of the turn. If this card is sent from the field to the GY (which most of the time will happen when you Link it away for another Link Monster), you can target and add to your hand 1 other Marincess card in your GY, which adds more ways to recycle your own resources for the following turn.

Finally, on the Marincess front, Marincess Dive is the archetypal Monster Reborn and Emergency Teleport for the Deck, even though it is mainly run at 1 copy per Deck. With the amount of recycling and searchability the Deck has, it’s no wonder why they only run this card as a 1-of. When you activate this card, you can choose between two effects, but you’re locked into WATER monsters, as you can either target and Special Summon 1 non-Link Marincess monster from your GY or, if you control Marincess Battle Ocean in your Field Zone, Special Summon any Marincess monster from your Deck to start your plays if you open just Battle Ocean or a way to place it from your Deck or add it to your hand and Dive specifically.

There isn’t much to talk about with Cubic, outside of maybe Cubic Dharma, as almost all of their cards have seen plenty of prints over the years in the Dark Side of Dimensions Movie Pack, as it was reissued tons of times and printed in three different rarities. Cubics have plenty of powerful cards, but Vijam the Cubic Seed is the most noteworthy card, as it is the center of the Deck that many of the Cubic Beasts and Kings mention in their text. This monster cannot be destroyed by battle, and at the end of the Damage Step, if it battles an opponent’s monster, you can place this card in your Spell/Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell, and you place a Cubic Counter on the opponent’s monster. Any monster that has a Cubic Counter cannot attack, and their effects are negated, and this card can be Special Summoned during your Main Phase if it is in your Spell/Trap Zone.

It’s unsure what each of the waves of support will do, and the only thing we do know is it’ll be as good as Witchcrafter and Unchained or extremely broken, like how Toons ended up being.

The Magical World Isn’t Done Yet!

Magistus isn’t down and out yet, as a new The Chronicles Deck DX: Magistus was just revealed last night, and between Witchcrafter, Invoked, and Magistus, it’s finally time to bridge the gap more between Endymion and Magistus. Spenta, the Magistus Sealer, has been a card worth holding onto for every reason under the sun, as players already have to wait for Verre, Maid of Endymion, to be released in the TCG’s Beyond the Brave, as it’s the missing piece for the Witchcrafter Magistus strategy. By discarding this card, you can activate 1 of its effects to either add 1 Magistus monster from your deck to your hand or halve the ATK of 1 monster your opponent controls until the end of the turn. You can also banish this card from your GY to target a face-up monster you control and equip 1 Magistus monster from your Extra Deck or GY to it as an Equip Spell, which nets plenty of advantage with Artemis, the Magistus Moon Maiden.

With Invoked gaining more popularity along with Magistus, Crowley, the Gifted Magistus has been blown off the North American market. As a similar card to Snake-Eyes Poplar, if Crowley is added to your hand, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. If it is Normal or Special Summoned, you can Fusion Summon 1 Magistus or Invoked Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck by using monsters from your hand or field, and if you Fusion Summon using this card, you can treat it as the original Aleister the Invoker. Even as a 1-of in any of the current Spellcaster Decks that run Invoked or Magistus cards, you will see this card being added back to the hand or searched up a ton just to get out any of the Fusion Monsters needed, like Magistus Chorozo, Zoroa, the Magistus Verethragna, Invoked Mechaba, and even the new Invoked Oceanus.

It might finally be time that Spell Power Mastery gets a reprint after 7 long years of being dormant with no reprint. As one of the top cards for the Endymion Deck, it can add any Endymion monster from your Deck to your hand, and then you can place Spell Counters among cards you control that can have Spell Counters, up to the number of Spell Power Mastery and Spell Power Grasps in your GY. By letting you search for cards like Regulus, Prince of Endymion, Servant of Endymion, or any new Endymion support cards releasing in the future, it’ll always be seen as a 2- or 3-of in the Deck itself.

Finally, another Xyz that would be a perfect reprint for this Chronicle Deck would be Alchemic Magician. The last print for this card in both the OCG and TCG was back in 2012 in Return of the Duelist. This Rank 4 monster requires 3 Spellcaster monsters for its Xyz Materials, and it gains 200 ATK for each Spell Card in your GY. During your End Phase, this card can detach 1 material and send 1 card from your hand to the GY to let you set any Spell Card from your Deck to your field. Players have recently been setting cards like Super Polymerization, Forbidden Droplet, Forbidden Crown, Mistaken Arrest, Called by the Grave, and even Silent Graveyard from their Deck to their field for any specific interaction they need for their opponent’s turn.

The latter half of this year will be quite interesting for both the TCG and OCG as we await the reveals of the new Magistus, Endymion, Ghostrick, Marincess, and Cubic support, along with the TCG waiting for a new Forbidden & Limited list to shake the meta up after the NA, EU, and OCWCQ events. The TCG is still waiting to know when the new cards from both Revolution Booster: -Witchcrafter/Toons/Unchained- and Limited Over Collection: The Rivals will be imported as well to change the meta even more to be closer to what the OCG currently has.
