Magic the Gathering never had a show and yet its still incredibly popular. Far more than Yugioh.

Yugi can function without a new animated season, but the constant focus on strategies from past series (more than usual, I mean) gives the impression that this doesn’t seem to be the case

Yu-gi-oh! anime was not very popular outside of Japan for years and it’s availability was extremely limited, with exception of that one time when V-Rains was on Crunchyroll… and nobody was watching it.
The only relevant audience for it nowadays were 10-15yo Japanese kids.
I’m curious what will happen with main Yu-gi-oh! anime in the future, too. But it’s not that it was super relevant in last few years. Do we really care about botched dubbing available only in Canada and some parts of North America that will be cut short anyway because licensor will have spasm when they will see the next series? And with Rush Duels in the equation, is there’s even sense to license anything? The game that the last two Yu-gi-oh! series were promoting exist only in Japan.

NeoArkadia Supports Censorship – MTG is currently falling apart between low-quality of cards, overprinting, push for UB bullcrap, powercreep going at the speed of light, Hasbro and WoTC rotting away and like 20 other issues.
It says something when in Japan, where WoTC was always treating clients with premium quality stuff that was vastly superior to what USA and Europe was getting, things are going AWFULLY and MTG dropped below to like top 7 of most selling card games. MTG is losing to Hololive TCG from all the things there.

Better than a new anime is to make past anime decks PLAYABLE. Like they did with BE, odion, ishizu. Red-eyes when?

Ishizu wasn’t even playable. They didn’t even function by themselves.

Master Duel is doing most of the carrying since you don’t need to spend hundreds/thousands for a meta deck. HOWEVER, they really need to tweak the whole game ASAP because between being unwelcome for beginners/nostalgia players, either it will die or Rush Duel will take over as the main YGO.

As the story continues we still wonder if without an anime will the game survive
Not every TCG needs an anime attached to it, you know.
