Light of Intervention just destroys this archetype lol

      • kio on August 8, 2025 12:51 am

Light of Intervention wouldn’t do anything, they special summon face-down, not set.

      • Bolt Spider on August 8, 2025 12:58 am

For Light of Intervention 2nd sentence: “If a Monster Card would be Set, it **must** be Normal Summoned in face-up Defense Position.”

The monster gets Special Summoned in face-up Defense Position instead of face-down. See the ruling of it vs Cyber Jar

      • kio on August 8, 2025 1:10 am

Special summoning face-down isn’t “Set”-ing, otherwise it would be called Special Set, not special summon face-down. The ruling makes it work, but the card literally is not written in a way where it should matter, but it doesn’t have PSCT so I guess it’s forgiven for now.

      • Giant Turtle Who Feeds On Dames on August 8, 2025 2:14 am

Toadally Awesome performs a face down special summon and calls it setting. Through context, it’s easy to tell whether we’re referring to the general action of placing cards face down, or a normal summon that happens to have been face down, but I can understand why in most contexts they’d prefer that the words Special Summon are explicit so that you don’t have like, pedants insisting you can’t Warning Toad’s effect.

      • kio on August 8, 2025 3:16 am

Toadally Awesome is a bad example because it’s phrased that way because setting spells and traps is built into the same effect and it’s treated as a special summon BKSS as literally every other effect in the game that does that is always phrased “special summon face-down.” The Shallow Grave could easily say “Each player targets 1 monster in their own GY; each player Sets the target from their GY” yet it doesn’t. Peculiar. Almost like there’s a difference. It isn’t pedantry to insist you can’t do something when the card literally doesn’t say what it’s doing. Konami should just write the cards better.

      • Ygopureya on August 8, 2025 3:34 am

Actually, setting is not the same as special summoning face down, so the archetype shouldn’t be affected at all

      • Kimcho on August 8, 2025 9:58 am

        It all explains https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Card_Rulings:Light_of_Intervention

      • Bolt Spider on August 8, 2025 11:03 am

From the ruling of Cyber Jar vs Light of Intervention:

Q: While “Light of Intervention” is applying, can monsters be Special Summoned in face-down Defense Position by “Cyber Jar”‘s effect?
A: While “Light of Intervention” is applying, monsters cannot be Normal Set, and cannot be Special Summoned in face-down Defense Position. Therefore, if a monster would be Special Summoned in face-down Defense Position by “Cyber Jar”‘s effect, it is Special Summoned in face-up Defense Position instead.

      • Nathan on August 8, 2025 12:22 pm

Light doesn’t do anything, special summoning in face-down defense position doesn’t count as setting a monster. Ceremonial Bell and Eye of Truth, though… those do stop the effects in hand, since you can’t reveal a monster that’s already revealed.

      • fulan on August 8, 2025 12:46 pm

Setting a card is not only from hands. Flipping a face up card to face down by Book of Moon, and Special Summon a card face down are also forms of setting a card. Read the Dark Simorgh and ancient gear advance ruling.

        https://www.db.yugioh-card.com/yugiohdb/faq_search.action?ope=5&fid=7264&request_locale=ja

      • fulan on August 8, 2025 12:52 pm

This is a translation from the site. “Effects that change a monster to face-down Defense Position or Special Summon a monster in face-down Defense Position are Set card effects.”

      • ThreesOf3 on August 8, 2025 2:29 pm

True, but that’s side deck space you’re not devoting to better decks in the room. As a rogue option, this seems like it would be pretty decent because it is playing on a completely different axis than most decks in the meta at the moment. The silver bullet to this deck doesn’t help you at all against basically anything else.

      • Snow on August 8, 2025 3:23 pm

Head Judge Here. Monsters CANNOT be Special Summoned face-down, while Light of Intervention’s effect is applying.

      • Snow on August 8, 2025 4:00 pm

Forgot to add, they can be Special Summoned face-up under Light of Intervention instead. But as this archetype prevents that, it’s still a counter.

      • schween on August 9, 2025 7:13 am

^ This guy is correct. This should not be the way the card works according to its current text, but it’s the way it’s always been ruled. One of the big examples is that it forces the worm continuous spell to summon in face up instead of face down defense position. Perhaps this archetype is what gets people to start ruling this card correctly, but who knows.

      • Snagglepup on August 9, 2025 8:57 am

I think this’ll need to wait until konami gives a ruling about it tbh, the only rulings atm are upper deck rulings which are full of inconsistencies and mistakes

      • Snow on August 9, 2025 6:53 pm

        @Snagglepup

We have official and current rulings on this from Prediction Princess Tarotrei.

Even while the effect of Light of Intervention is applying, the effect of Prediction Princess Tarotrei that Special Summons a Flip monster in face-down Defense Position can be activated. In this case, the monster is Special Summoned in face-up Defense Position.

Basically the text of Light of Intervention should read something like this [unofficial]: “Cards cannot be Summoned face-down, or put face-down by a card effect. If a monster would be Summoned face-down, it is Summoned face-up instead”.

But as the Condition on these cards prevents monsters being Special Summoned, except face-down, they could not Summon them while while both Light of Itervention is applying and this Condition is applying, as it’d be an attempt to Special Summon face-up.

I think people need to look for cards that are good going second against this deck, rather than first like Light of Intervention (or better, Royal Command). There’s really not much, most board breakers only work against face-up monsters, or when you know which monster is which (Lava Golem, Kaijus). Sphere Mode and Evenly Matched are the best options I’ve come across. Maybe Ancient Forest and Swords of Revealing Light, but they activate their Trigger effects when flipped face-up, or their Continuous effects begin applying. Konami thought of everything it seems.

      • Ihatecommenters on August 10, 2025 12:47 pm

“This one really specific card just counters this deck lol” This can be said for any deck in history “Man macro cosmos just destroys tears lol” A deck having a counter does not make it bad, this sentence is the single dumbest thing yugioh players say, and I see so many of you just recycle this statement for absolutely anything and everything yes of course it’ll have counters bro what are you saying.

    4. Pablod on August 8, 2025 12:35 am

So…. Counter + Flip Summon + Pendulum Deck.

      Very unique.

      • Leo on August 8, 2025 6:13 am

Especially since it’s a pendulum deck… that doesn’t even pendulum summon. At least so far.

      • Baroque on August 8, 2025 6:01 pm

It would actively need a way to Pendulum Summon face-down if not otherwise doing some other means of circumventing the part where all their in-hand effects bar you from Special Summoning face-up for the rest of the turn.

Something like, admittedly, simply Pendulum Summoning beforehand, which is honestly a fairly simple solution . . . but, eh; probably undesired anyways since you WANT to have two Enneacraft in your Pendulum Zones in order to rack up Sinquisition Counters for the field’s burn.

That all being said, I do appreciate them pulling a Mythical Beast and giving them all a consistent scale for the sake of Pendulum Paradox; it’s rather nice to be able to have more than just their search Spell’s GY effect to get them back with.

    5. ygoon on August 8, 2025 12:37 am

w-why another pendulum counter archtype again..?
is pendulum can only viable playing with a counter..?
is counter can only viable in pendulum deck..?

      • Nikoness on August 8, 2025 1:03 am

Konami tries their best to keep supporting all Summoning Types. For another example, we know how Ritual sucks sometimes, but they keep getting crazy supports.

    6. Durbe on August 8, 2025 12:38 am

This is why pendulums (and Arc-V) shouldn’t exist. Holy text. People gonna get double losses in time just by reasding all this nonsense

      • John on August 8, 2025 1:07 pm

Both pendulum effects and the first monster effect is the same on all the monsters. Sounds like a you problem.

    11. ReyMercury on August 8, 2025 12:50 am

This feels like a really fun deck to play against. I’m not being sarcastic, genuinely i think it’d be fun since it’s got reactable traps that you may possible know most of them in the field. You’d be circumventing different explosives as you clear the mine field and eventually destroy their field spell.
i wish more decks were made like this!

      • Sulyvahn on August 8, 2025 1:04 am

The deck locks you from special summon except facedown, maybe the contact fusion can allow to be summon facedown as well. It would be cracked

      • DuDono on August 8, 2025 2:25 am

The contact fusion’s pend effect lets you pend summon face-down from the extra deck to any main monster zone.

Once this flops they’ll probably release support that let you flip any mon face-up if your opponent makes any play to make deus ex crawler much more reliable

      • Pt33 on August 8, 2025 3:53 am

        So Like Book of Taiyou?

But No extra deck is boring >:(

      • HFIL on August 8, 2025 1:03 am

They end up in the extra deck.

    16. HFIL on August 8, 2025 1:03 am

Man, this deck is confusing. Their unique non-flip effecta effects all only activate during certain, different conditions. Really pushing what you can do for flips. Seeing as I have a soft spot for flips I like it. Hilariously, besides these cards Performapal Momoncarpet is the only pendulum flip monster in the game.

    19. mockbird on August 8, 2025 1:32 am

you have seen trap monster. now, behold. MONSTER TRAP. jokes aside, its actually crazy that they dont have a card that quick eff flip a card and locks to SS face down. but i like that it discourages playing floodgate flip monster who isnt named deus ex krawler

      • Johnnymacs18 on August 8, 2025 7:11 am

I think they did that because for some reason not only did they want to make flip playable they added burn to it to

    20. N on August 8, 2025 1:33 am

Some of these cards are good in a vacuum and others are awful

    21. Narf on August 8, 2025 1:36 am

Great theme, terrible lock. Konami will have to get creative to give this any sort of extra deck support. Although it doesn’t need it. A modern theme with no extra deck necessities for sure is something rare these days.

However, what the deck actually needs are ways to flip face-up and face-down your monsters, so that you can make cards like Pot of the Forbidden work in it. Also, it could use an additional way to get to its field spell.

But as a whole, I like it, despite the extremely heavy-handed restriction.

      • Ifririt on August 8, 2025 1:38 am

all of the level ones can search the field spell, how many more searchers do you want?

      • ScionStorm on August 8, 2025 3:42 am

We just got a Sphinx monster in DOOD that sets a Book of Taiyou or Book of Moon from Deck or GY at no cost opt.

      • HeraldOfOpera on August 8, 2025 12:20 pm

Fusion Pendulum that you summon with a Quick-Play on your opponent’s turn where the lock isn’t active anymore. Bonus points if its materials are 1 Enneacraft monster + 1 Effect Monster so that you can use Super Poly.

    22. Mageside on August 8, 2025 1:41 am

Enneacraft – AtoriϜ.MAR is clearly Mother Whale from Goddess of Victory Nikke, they should just collab already! I need Izayoi Aki boob jiggle in my Shift Up game now!

    23. azul120 on August 8, 2025 1:54 am

A Pendulum monster theme so far not really based on Pendulum Summoning. Hmmm.

      • alalal on August 8, 2025 12:58 pm

        Mythical Beasts exist since 2018

    24. Qwertystop on August 8, 2025 1:56 am

If you use their effect that summons any monster from your hand face-down, do you have to reveal what monster it is to your opponent?

      • HFIL on August 8, 2025 2:05 am

Nope. That’s the point of the deck. The opponent doesn’t know what you summoned.

      • DuDono on August 8, 2025 2:27 am

I think it’s like Dust Tornado, you don’t

    25. Det on August 8, 2025 2:12 am

Wonder if hanzo+ leaves(trap, that can tribute any face down to summon a ninja) jioh/fusion girl (ninjas) would be worth with this

A good level 1 FLIP EARTH archetype with an innovative gimmick?

This deck has meta potential out of the box btw

    28. You're Mom on August 8, 2025 2:42 am

Is it just me or recursion would be hard for this Deck? Them being Pendulums meant that once they are destroyed, it will be hard to retrieve them from your face-up Extra Deck.

    29. Rumor Hunter on August 8, 2025 2:47 am

Oh this looks GOOD. We just need an in-archetype means to flip cards over and we’re set. But a cool concept and will be deadly in the hands of a clever player.

      Enneacraft Asta(upsilon). PIXIEA
      Enneacraft Archa(nu). TAIL

    33. Namesky on August 8, 2025 3:58 am

      Tl;dr on what they do?

      • Ehs on August 8, 2025 5:46 am

TL;DR: They’re a pseudo flip archtype that can activate effect from face-down state by flipping themselves face-up in response to certain conditions, e.g. opponent activates card from X place. Also they get free search on every flip.

Their wincon is burn by their boss monsters and spending their pendulum counters with fieldspell.

      • VerdantVillainess on August 8, 2025 6:13 am

        All of them:
        * PZone, When a monster is flipped up, this gets a Sinquisition counter
        * Hand, Reveal this, SS 1 monster from hand face-down.
        * MZone, When opponent does [thing], flip this up and search an Enneacraft
        * MZone, FLIP: Do a [thing].

        Cubes:
        * PZone, pay 900, reveal 3 Enneacraft from deck, add 1 random one to hand.

        Beast Modes:
        * PZone, end of battle phase, if Enneacraft in other PZone, kill target monster with <3000 ATK.

        @grok summarize this

      • Syrel on August 8, 2025 9:04 pm

A bit off Verdant, the Beasts instead Counter their trigger condition instead of searching
All of the cubes do A Thing related to their trigger condition as well, but they’re on a new chain and thus too late to counter plays, only retaliate against them

    34. Nexit on August 8, 2025 4:31 am

so what are they gonna do?
that’s right, print the same effect over and over and over and over again.
and for what? A BURN STRATEGY

      • HFIL on August 8, 2025 11:07 am

Kinda reductive to just call it a burn strategy.

    35. Ehs on August 8, 2025 5:49 am

I really like the arts and gimmick. It’s very unique. I’m looking forward to playing it. Just hope it’s not floodgate pile again.

    36. Donny on August 8, 2025 5:58 am

These cards have more text than a dictionary.

    37. Evangelion Entusiast on August 8, 2025 6:06 am

      Orgia means orgy in italian
Also, another wasted opportunity for asymmetric pendulum scales

    38. Leo on August 8, 2025 6:34 am

Something interesting that I haven’t seen being mentioned in here yet – none of the monster effects (apart from the search effect all smaller ones have) are once per turn. I like that, it makes it less likely to brick.

    39. atomicnmare on August 8, 2025 7:58 am

      close enough welcome back qli?
it even has a dumb summon lock, if you use the lv9 special summon effects you can’t even pendulum summon anymore, the hell?
also these names are NOT making it past localization lmao

      • MystirMeme on August 8, 2025 8:03 am

You aren’t meant to Pendulum Summon them. They just double as counter generators so you can punish your opponent for tripping security measures.

    40. metalhead on August 8, 2025 8:15 am

Time for the community to become attached to these fan localizations and then complain when official company Konami officially localizes them in a way that the fan localization was not

      • Dedede on August 8, 2025 10:39 am

I will personally never like what they did long ago to dragonmaids

      • ScionStorm on August 8, 2025 10:16 pm

TCG localization team has been a menace for generations. Nobody likes their “clever flair” but they keep doing it. That’s why “Heavenly Halo Undertaker” is known as “Guiding Light” in TCG. They even stripped it of it’s archetype name.

    43. Prediction_P* on August 8, 2025 10:52 am

O.P.T i miss you where are you? did you gone missing on them?

    44. EmeraldTiger on August 8, 2025 2:14 pm

So Enneacraft LEON is the “unsealed” form of AlazoneIA, and Enneacraft Atori MAR is tromarIA,, as indicated by their similar designs and using the same Greek letter. But orgIA doesn’t match to either PIXIEA or TAIL, same with oknirIA. They all have different Greek letters; PIXIEA and TAIL share no letters with L1s.

That means there’s 4 missing monsters that should come out in later sets (as all the monsters slots are occupied for this set): 2 L9s for orgIA and oknirlA, and 2 L1s for PIXIEA and TAIL.

      • JC D on August 10, 2025 12:22 pm

Ennea means nine and the ones we have right now span from 1 to 9. So we actually have 5 more small and big guys left to complete the archetype. Probably not gonna see them for years though.

    45. Z3R0 on August 8, 2025 3:01 pm

Time to rebuild empty jar lol

    46. Darkhar on August 8, 2025 4:13 pm

    48. B.Crozer on August 8, 2025 6:22 pm

Just a note for everybody, Pendulum Paradox exist. The last (and maybe only) Archetype that could use this card well, was Amorphage.

      • MystirMeme on August 8, 2025 8:04 pm

If only Vaylantz was actually good…

      • B.Crozer on August 8, 2025 8:58 pm

Oh yeah, I forgot they even existed

    49. MystirMeme on August 8, 2025 8:14 pm

So this Deck is about using their Main Deck monsters as pseudo-traps, in lieu of actual Trap Cards. I love how they can just drop any Flip Monster from their hand as well.

    50. Spek on August 8, 2025 11:30 pm

      Orgia xD

    51. Pedanticman on August 9, 2025 4:48 am

Regarding the letter that looks like “F”, it’s actually digamma, one of the three extinct greek letters, along qoppa and disigma. They stopped being used very early (around 5-4 BC), when the other 24 letters where where solidified as official. However, despite being obsolete, they where kept (and still are) in the greek numerical system. Though today disigma is being sustituted by the letters “ΣΤ” (sigma-tau) or “ς” (the other form of sigma when it’s at the end of a word).

      • Pendanticman on August 9, 2025 4:50 am

        *meant digamma at the end

    52. rae on August 9, 2025 4:53 am

      DBPR-JP016 Enneacraft α’ “orgIA”
im on this card – the first card, and all i can think about is the free agent from doom of dimensions which lets you search the book of moon and taiyou that engine with this card makes the non engine like spirit of the fobidden, disgustinggggg. because you can just reveal, non engine broken flip cards that were too slow before get turbo flipped down and face up turn 1, turn 2 and so on, then you can put this guy in pendulum zone call 3 of the saame starter card because it doesnt say 3 different cards, like ima continue reading, if there is an insane starter this might be a disgusting strategy

      • Leo on August 9, 2025 8:12 am

You’re thinking of Chakravartin Sphinx. I also thought of that but it clashes with their summoning restrictions (can’t special monsters the turn you use their special from hand effect, except face-down) since it summons itself face-up. You’d have to tribute summon it with 2 tributes, which is pretty bad. You CAN also summon it during the opponent’s turn when you flip one of your monsters up, but that’s… meh.

I’d love to find a good way to include it in the deck but at the moment it just feels awkward.

    53. Anonymous on August 9, 2025 9:27 am

This just needs 1 card that sets a Ennegram turn 0 and it’s easy tier1

      • Yusei Fanboy on August 10, 2025 1:33 pm

Any of the level 1s can get you to it easy, the main thing i want is a way to recur these cards from the extra deck. As of right now if your opponent clears the field theyre stuck in the ED for the whe duel

      • Anonymous on August 11, 2025 6:28 am

Consistency isn’t really the reason a turn 0 card for this deck would be broken lol. It’s being able to essentially have any disruption you want in every hand

    54. TheToymakersFunTime on August 9, 2025 10:55 am

Why do I have this feeling that this is gonna be another very easy FTK burn archetype? Not a single one of them have even have a soft OPT clause for their monster effects.

    55. Snow on August 9, 2025 6:55 pm

Fun Fact: These are all FLIP monsters, that do not have any FLIP effects.

      • Snow on August 9, 2025 7:16 pm

Although the TCG will likely translate “If this card is flipped face-up:” instead as “FLIP:”. So they would. In which case Ancient Forest stonks go up.

      • Yusei Fanboy on August 10, 2025 1:31 pm

Although theyre worded weird, they are flip effects and will activate even during battle calculation.

      • Snow on August 12, 2025 1:13 am

        @Yusei Fanboy

They are flip effects in the OCG. They aren’t flip effects in the TCG if translated 1:1 this way. Only effects that say “FLIP:” are Flip effects in the TCG. Just as Snowman Eater’s effect is not a Flip effect. Any effect which activates when the card itself is flipped face-up, can activate in the Damage Step, as battle position changes on Trigger effects are one of the criteria for effects that can activate in the Damage Step. Whether it’s a flip effect or not, (again see Snowman Eater).

    56. Kira on August 9, 2025 10:01 pm

That’s a lot of text for glorified mimiphort scout archetype

    57. Kira on August 9, 2025 10:05 pm

Wait actually these cards all just have the same scale effects and scale numbers, and (from what i skimmed) don’t interact with the scales in any way why is this a pendulum archetype

      • Kira on August 9, 2025 10:08 pm

Oh sorry, they have a battle trick and a counter gimmick that is used exactly to burn your opponent to death

    58. Jiro on August 11, 2025 4:00 am
