Whe kind of do now, as we do have new search targets for Roxrose that make it a 1 card starter, such as Violence Witch or Black Rose Garden searching for White Rose Dragon. What still upsets me is that we have no way of going from plants into the rose dragon cards, only the opposite.
She has several starters now. Black Rose Garden can add Rox Rose Dragon, then Rox Rose Dragon can add Violence Witch to get your plays going. Starting with Rox Rose you can add Black Rose Garden and have that add White Rose Dragon. Lonefire summon Night Rose Black Knight does it too. Also, since you only need to summon plants from the extra deck on your turn, you can use Ragnaraika and/or Sunavalon to access your combo through Aromaseraphy Jasmine.
I may or may not have forgotten Rox searches BRD listers and not just specific card names. That’s on me
@Quintingent, Actually, Bramble requires a Plant-type as a Tuner. You cannot use Roxrose. Unless, you control Black Rose Garden and you searched Roxrose with it. Anyway, i like this new support.
black rose garden is a 1 card starter that searches and is a sudo floodgate (all monsters become plants)

Konami could always make a Plant Synchro that searches a Rose Dragon. The Deck also needs plant monsters that want to be banished by something else. These plants want to banish themselves or stay in the GY. Having plants that are like the Kashtira or Swordsoul cards that does something for the Deck when it is banished would be conducive for the Deck and a power up for the OG BRD.
At first I thought, ‘Wow, cool, a new Rose Dragon and Black Rose Garden,’ but once I read their effects, the fun was over again!
Why don’t they ever give a Rose Dragon an ATK boost or a resurrection effect from the Graveyard? It’s a shame, I was so excited, but as usual, Konami disappoints! Same with Yusei’s new Structure Deck so far! I hope the remaining new cards there are at least useful! Luckily, Jack got a cool Structure Deck, at least that’s something!

If by new deck you mean the 5Ds legendary deck then that’s almost certainly just reprints.
There are only 8 new cards in the legendary decks and they are all Yusei. Also the other 2 decks are Jack and Aki because they have chibi arts from Duel Arena.

Black-Winged Assault Dragon was such great card design so let’s just print it again. You know what we also need? More floodgates! But it’s also a ROTA.
Roxrose got a lot of new search targets and she herself has a dedicated searcher now.
Violence Witch and Knight make it really easy to go into their Synchros, or to use Frozen Rose. Especially with Knight’s level modifying effect since they have disparate Levels.
Garden searches Rox, but it makes going into Crossrose a bit harder so it would likely have to be after you play. Since a lot of these extenders float into each other.
Hate can be cheated out with Crossrose and revived with either Rose Dragon.

Bramble Rose Dragon + Black Rose D is insanely powerful inflect damage + wipe the field
Black winged assault dragon is also burn damage + nuke, they are surprisingly similar.
Any deck that can pump out a Level 6 and a Glow-Up Bulb can make Bramble. Tearlaments, anyone?
Bramble is crazy. Provided we get Bulb back, it’s a Black-Winged Assault Dragon that’s much easier to summon and can activate the board wipe effect whenever you want.

so now we have a 1 card starter/floodgate that sets up a a burn synchro/quick effect board wipe and sets up follow up for next turn. This kills maliss, and pretty much any deck that needs a specific archetype on the field like blue-eyes. Sadly this deck isn’t good against VS/k9 or ryzeal/mitsurugi/fiendsmith (they are still able to use the ryzeal part not the other two). These cards might bring it up to tier 2 or 1 since it can play dominus impulse and song of the dominators just fine.
Like a lot of new cards, I’d love to play them and would hate to go against them. I feel sorry for the dozen Pendulum players that will have to play against this.
Sorry Yusei, but Aki’s winning this one for now. My only qualm is that Black Rose Garden lacks the long-needed effect of searching the cards which mention Black Rose Dragon in their texts.
Oh ok its season 1 Aki, I see. I’m going to tell my grandkids that this (Black Rose Garden) was anime Ivy Shackles. I’m just glad we’re back to 3 characters per main set though its more like 2.5 or less when you can assume the cover will be bloat on top of bloat.
Nice to see they are finally trying to fix the deck’s old bad design choice of making half the monsters into warriors & spellcasters for no good reason, even back when 5DS was new it always bothered me how most of the cards were not plants in a plant themed deck. Old Yugioh was always strangely really awful at making a deck stick with a theme properly.
Anyways, these cards seem good, but I am kinda disappointed we didn’t finally get a level 12 Black Rose Dragon synchro boss yet. Sometimes it feels like Konami is pointlessly scared of Akiza & the other Signers being on the same level as Yusei & Jack.
Other types have been supporting plants since 1999 a la Wodan the Resident of the Forest. I don’t mind this setup as long as there are magical mallet-ish, scrying, etc. effects sprinkled around to help you get the right pieces together. I’m looking at you Dark Rose Fairy, that should’ve filtered when used as synchro material.

Do these people that comment on new card support for decks really read stuff?
People here always say “duh this is mid” or “b-but it doesn’t do X” oh come on dude, the support here for Black Rose is pretty good. Not to make it meta of course, but it gives way more playability for the deck.
It’s okay, but nothing more. I’ll only play these cards together with the new Luna and some Leo cards. I already have a deck like that and I’ll see what I can swap out. Nevertheless, I’m disappointed with the sets in general lately! The last really good set was Phantom Nightmare, where Yubel got her new cards, so that was really cool for me and I liked it.

Don’t encourage them. It may not be negate slop but it’s just as bad. The depressing thing is that there was ALREADY an in-theme way to do this.
So there’s a way to access this entirely generic as long as you can fit 3 extra deck slots (including bramble rose and black rose), and have level 2s or 1s in your deck.
Bramble Rose Dragon, Black Rose Dragon, and Garden Rose Flora in your extra, and level 1s or 2s in your main deck.
Synchro into Garden Rose Flora, use her effect to go into Bramble Rose during your opponents main phase since shes a plant tuner , and then use Bramble Rose to go into black rose during your opponents main phase.
I guess of of the signer dragons are now getting their own deck, or hsve already gotten it?
I think all of them should have gotten it now, even though I think the powertool/lifestream support was only morphtronic with 1 new equip spell, so i guess that deck could get some more retrains and support (especially on the lifestream side, since thats the signer dragon technically)
Oh yea, also the sun and moon dragon need to get more support… all they got were a piece each to actually allow them to get on the board, but nothing to actually do with them
And theyve gotten the vague at best indirect support of linewalker, which however will never be used together with those insanely clunky synchros
