You can only activate 1 card with this card’s name per turn. You can only use the (2)nd effect of this card’s name once per turn.
(1) (1) When this card resolves, you can place 1 “Obsidim, the Ashened City” from your Deck face-up in either Field Zone.
(2) You can target 1 face-up card your opponent controls and 1 Level 8 or higher DARK Pyro monster in your GY; send that card on the field to the GY, and if you do, Special Summon that other monster from your GY to your opponent’s field in Defense Position.

After getting Flame Swordsman LoneCircular, and Ashened having a good Mill target for Baatistina, Ashened gets…. this. I’d be less disappointed if Obsidim had an actual on field effect.

Same, tbh. This card is disappointment incarnate. I was hoping they’d make it a continuous trap but my hopes got betrayed.
It just sucks and I hate it so much.

I’ve got 3 problems:
1) can’t summon Hero with it.
2) why not any Pyro???
3) If we could Summon in Attack position, we could take advantage of King’s low ATK.
Still, having a card that fetches the Field Spell isn’t that bad, i think.
It summons it to the opponents side of the field, and then doesn’t destroy the field so it doesn’t trigger the e tele. It’s so terrible
Because it always gets summoned to your opponents field, not your own. It’s just a way to give your opponent a Veidos.
It’s poetic that the last card in the archetype has the city destroyed, like the archetype it ends in a flop
Dont world premiere archetypes get 2 waves of direct support? We might be getting another ashened card in the set after duelist advance
It’s almost assuredly not considering the whole theme of souls like is eternal reincarnation, and the whole point of this archetype is that it’s pompeii, this is supposed to be like a surge in power
Lets you get to the Field Spell while avoiding Ash, and gives you an easy way to capitalize off of Veidos. Not bad, but not as powerful as the other 2 WPP cards for their Decks. Hopefully Ashened gets better cards in the next set.
