I find the OCG banlists to be one of the best things about the game. I don’t think they’re the best banlists for the metagame necassarly but every banlist from them has a perfect design and that’s the most important thing according to me. And the way the cards that are banned, limited, semi-limited and unlimited are put together in this one looks good again so good job Konami👍

Abyss Dweller was a TCG exclusive card in Abyss Rising. People were testing with Mermails for a couple months before that without it, in preparation for big events, and then when they actually released here there was suddenly a card that just completely broke the mirror match.

The format and OCG card design are all based on Maxx C and other handtraps.
They are slowly peeling off maxx c I think, I expect the next and maybe last mulcharmy to be a very high impact one like fuwalos was, maybe a shared ride but as a hand trap.
It was going to stay at 2 or go to 3 anyway. The new decks came out with 2 copies each. It was never going to go to 1 or 0. Product wins in that regard.
If it does go to 1, it could in a later list, but honestly, it’s far more likely to go back to 3, since as noted; the game is built around it in the OCG. TCG actually could remove a fair amount of its own Banlist by bringing Maxx “C” back too. Unfortunately, Konami doesn’t want that, so.
Maxx C needs to be at 3 in the TCG, I get empowered whenever these betas start complaining about something that has 10+ ways of negating it
good cards are getting the Crystron Halqifaiberaxe treatment, after a year or 2 ryzel will demolish and affected cards like dweller well come back
Also I dont quite get why people think that they’re trying to make the most diverse metagame with the banlists when they’re obviouslly trying to make the cards look the best the way that they’re put together in the banlist.

The Dweller ban is good, but besides that, this list is terrible. No Ouroboros and Scythe ban is crazy
Dweller ban is something I never thought would happen but on the other side I’m not too sad about, I don’t think it was necessary but its not tear 0 format where it would have been insane to ban it. Ext to 1 is a huge hit, I’m kinda curious what the tcg will hit for the deck after the inevitable bonfire limit, you can throw in 3 seventh ascensions to make up for the consistency a little bit but that’s a neg 1, introduces more card redundancies, and games go past turn 1 for the 2nd copy of ext to come up. Allure to 1 is something I’m expecting in the tcg eventually, that card has crazy upside in maliss. Overall I think this was the best ocg banlist of the year, not really saying much though.

I’m kinda surprised they never banned Abyss Dweller before. You’d think they’d have banned it well before Ryzeal started abusing it, with how much decks rely on the GV.
It should have been banned back in Tear O format.
