Let’s take a stab at optimizing this TCG WP theme!

Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for today’s profile, and this was my result for a friendly competition between me and Dan to build an optimized Ashened list. The Ashened theme consists of DARK Pyro monsters that ultimately revolve around Obsidim, the Ashened City. This Field Spell turns Special Summoned monsters the opponent controls into Pyro during your turn, offering them up for Super Polymerization, or the in-theme version, Ashened to Endlessness. The goal is to first get Obsidim on either field, then Special Summon your Ashened monsters from hand with their inherent summoning conditions. Priestess of the Ashened City helps this gameplan along, as does King of the Ashened City, as each lets you dig further into your deck and extend further onto your board, converting cards to advantage. You also have two great Spell Cards for that – Awakening of Veidos, to place Obsidim on the field and tutor a Level 5 or higher DARK Pyro, or Extinguishing the Ashened, which effectively tutors any Level 5 or higher DARK Pyro. Plus, they are Pyro after all, so Infernal Flame Banshee and Bonfire can do some heavy lifting in the consistency department.
Now, the magic of this archetype is how it can play with so many unique cards and engines. I love its interaction with Chicken Game, as this build can potentially use its effect multiple times in the same turn, looping it back onto the field with things like Multi-Universe or Embers of the Ashened. This theme also works well with Cosmo Queen the Queen of Prayers, destroying a Field Spell you control to tutor any other, gaining advantage in the process if you destroyed Obisdim. What I like to tutor is Nightmare Throne, as that gets you both a free Link Material and a Phantom of Yubel if it happens to destroy Spirit of Yubel in your deck. If Cosmo Queen doesn’t work out, you can turn to Set Rotation, Terraforming, or even Pop-Up to grab the Field Spell you want – this deck don’t discriminate when it has all the options!
