Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for another Creative Deck Profile, this time featuring the return of the Ashened archetype to my channel! When the Ashened were first revealed, combining them with Volcanic was a no-brainer, but now, it’s even better when you consider the second wave of Ashened support. While the Ashened archetype operates best with Obsidim, the Ashened City on the field, the combination of Extinguishing the Ashened and Awakening of Veidos ensure easy access to your key Ashened threats. Once you have Obsidim up, you can turn to your Level 4 Ashened monsters like Priestess of the Ashened City to Special Summon themselves from the hand, and give you free material. With 2 Level 4s, you can make Infernal Flame Banshee, allowing you to tutor any Pyro monster at will… or in other words, access the Volcanic side of your deck.
The Volcanic theme may be FIRE Pyro monsters, but that doesn’t hold them back from being a willing partner. With Volcanic Trooper ensuring consistency from the getgo and Volcanic Blaze Accelerator offering a free Volcanic Special Summon from the hand each turn, you’ll quickly find yourself with more material than you know what to do with. But more importantly, running this solid Volcanic engine unlocks the power of Volcanic Scattershot, a Level 2 Pyro that can wipe your opponent’s monsters while burning them for 500 apiece. For a typical Volcanic deck, recovering those Scattershot to make use of its effect more than once is the struggle, but not in this deck! You see, Shaman of the Ashened City can shuffle back 3 of your Pyro monsters in your GY or banishment, letting you restock for the next wave of destruction. If you happen to leave a Scattershot banished, you can even use some of that material you saved to make Flametongue the Blazing Magical Blade (YGOrg Translation), which can recover a banished FIRE monster each turn!
Now all of this sounds well and good, but 1500 in burn damage is not going to seal a duel. But you know what will? Volcanic Emperor. This Level 8 Pyro boasts 3100 ATK, and it is easily Special Summoned from the GY by banishing 3 Pyro monsters. When Summoned, it inflicts 500 to your opponent for each banished Pyro Monster, then sets a Volcanic Trap that will in turn, burn your opponent for even more damage. If that wasn’t enough, Emperor inflicts 500 each time your opponent Special Summons, letting you rack up the pain even more quickly. All of these tools are great, but I also want to highlight another devious trick in this deck’s sleeve – the Pyro/Machine Fusions. While Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird typically comes up in FTK settings, it actually also has a place here in this deck since you can make Proxy F Magician and Fusion Summon it using any of your Pyro monsters and an Amphibious Swarmship Amblowhale. That will probably be enough burn damage for game once you invest that amount of Link Material, but if you need an alternate option, I’d suggest turning to Ignition Beast Volcannon, which can be used to destroy a Veidos the Eruption Dragon of Extinction you give the opponent, burn them for 2800, and seal the duel. If you want to set a Bonfire alight, look no further than this combination of Pyro themes!

hmmm a Red-Eyes deck that makes use of the new Enhanced Metalmorph cards, and just for more machines, maybe a Cyberdark engine focusing on the original Cyberdark Dragon. That could be fun.
I do have a Metalmorph deck in the works 🙂
