This event will run from April 26th to April 30th (time zones applying). For this Tryout Duel, a copy of Skill Drain will be placed in both players’ Spell & Trap Zones at the start of the Duel.
The reward is not explicitly mentioned in the announcement, but the thumbnail suggests that it will be one pack from the latest selection pack: Nightmare Arrivals.

Dang. A floodgate event on top of the Maxx C format. I had pity for any of you who are still playing this game.
I don’t get why people complain about Maxx C. It is a balanced card if you know how to play. I think it just shows lack of skill of TCG players as opposed to those in the OCG
Maxx C is balanced in the hands of OCG players but not in TCG. Sure, your opinion of the lack of skills was the reason they swept the Yugioh tournament last year. Let’s see what happens next, after generic boss monsters are gone and “Under the Sea” is legally playable. Can OCG players be the next champion?
The big problem of MD is the single format… Why they don’t add match format ?
Maxx c is so balanced it requires literally EVERYONE to run the exact 9 cards in the deck, to play maxx c and to counter maxx c, if you fail to counter maxx c you lose, if your opponent’s fail or you counter the counter, you win. No need to play duel monsters. Ok i agree its as balanced as thano’s way of thinking
And thank you for proving the first commentor right. It only punishes bad players who don’t expect it and plan for it.
As an OCG player, my opinion is Maxx C is a necessary evil. What I do not agree is the comparison of players between different format. It does not matter whether you play in TCG, OCG, Master Duel, Duel links, Rush Duel etc.. At the end of the day, we are all Yu Gi Oh players enjoying the game in our own ways.

I can’t say whether a single card makes the game better or worse. I can only say that it will be marginally better or worse.
I’m gonna to go against the TCG grain here, Maxx C is a perfectly fine and balanced card, the card advantage Maxx C nets is based solely on the actions of the opponent. If you can handle your opponent starting with 9 cards in hand, spam away.
Now, what DOES need to go…Ash Blossom, unlike with Maxx C the opponent doesn’t have a choice as to whether or not they get to play the game. Open with only a single search you absolutely need in order for your deck to function? *Opponent plays Ash*, oh well sucks to be you, scoop or take your punishment.
That has to be the worst take i’ve heard in a long time. Ash is ban worthy because sometimes you only open 1 starter and you get Ashed ? If you have only 1 starter and your hand has nothing else that allow you to extend your plays after the Ash : You most likely are also losing to 1 imperm/veiler (droll if your deck is weak to it) regardless. I guess we should also ban every one of these too huh ?
