151 episodes “confirmed” is interesting. Last episode would air March 11, 2025 then – which is about the time a new Yugioh usually comes out.
151 episodes would make it the longest spin-off since 5Ds, and the 3rd longest overall.
GX – 180
5Ds – 154
Zexal – 146
ARC-V – 148
Vrains – 120
Sevens – 92
Go Rush – 151
its also the first ygo anime to have an odd number of episodes
@damntohell0 “its also the first ygo anime to have an odd number of episodes”
First YGO anime. How rude of you to ignore the “First YGO anime” literally titled “Yu-Gi-Oh!” after the original manga that started all of Yu-Gi-Oh! (because 1st adaptations are named after its source material) that released in 1998. It has 27 episodes. 27 is an odd number.
Also, in case you weren’t aware. Yu-Gi-Oh has been animated every year since 1998. Not 2000.
I love rush duel but Im glad this anime will only have 151 episodes. No offense to the people that like the anime but I think go rush is too boring and childish. I know it is an anime for kids but I hope next rush duel anime will be a little more adult, or at least that will have an story that makes sense and that will have good animations, not the 3D ugly ones.
The “Adult” (more like edgy in bad way) Yugioh! anime were all consistent flops in Japan despite how westerners were drooling over them.
Literally Go Rush and Sevens are the most optimal balance between seriousness and silliness.
I guess Japanese people have poor taste in media. That probably the reason we keep getting waifu and cute animal archtypes.
you must have holes in your brain with the fact that you’re forgetting most of the main yugioh series besides dm were as long as go rush
Don’t count on it buddy
Rush only has 151 episodes because Bridge era Yu-Gi-Oh! very rarely takes breaks, mostly taking off during the New Year week only. (But there will be two additional scheduled breaks, of which we already got one after Season 2.) The other series had the exact same three year quotas but they were on time slots that took off more often. VRAINS wrapped up early due to systemic production issues plaguing the entire series and Konami needing more time to move on to Rush.
Rush is aimed at a younger audience by executive demand. The main format is aimed at 9 and up in Japan, so Konami wants a game that they can market to younger audiences.
I predict YGO 9 will be a Rush anime that brings Synchros to Rush Duels and could have a 5Ds vibe in which the cast use Ride Duels. Maybe the MC and their friends could be older teens/young adults (16-20).
Looks to me that they’re struggling to get broadcaster for Go Rush.
Which I find odd in the age of streaming where every streaming service is looking to get more subs.
Crunchyroll should be jumping on this they already have the shows. In English and Japanese.
i think the issue is less the broadcaster, and more Konami CM. like nobody signs on an exclusivity deal with Pluto TV unless they are trying to save money.
They tried something a bit more with Sevens on Hulu and Disney, but its distribution was so clearly stunted by a fear of failure.
Yu-Gi-Oh GO Rush is boring and suuuper childish that only mind child individuals will like. AND DEAL WITH IT.
YU-GI-OH ANIME won’t be as successful as to now without that “Edgy Anime” that dude was referring about. And just where did you get that FACT that YGO animes from Studio Galloop we’re flops in Japan? 😆 If it is flop then we won’t be getting these sequels to begin with. GROW SOME BRAINS!
STOP DEFENDING THAT GARBAGE SEVENS AND GO GO RUSH ANIMES.
Cry harder bro.
I must point out that stating that Sevens/Go Rush are fairly childish and not very adult is an exact theme they touch upon in the show. Yugioh, as we know it in the OCG/TCG is overwhelmingly complicated, and Rush Duels are a way to make it more accessible, or as the shows prefers to put it, “put the game back into the hands of children”.
For all our jokes about Yugioh being a children’s card game, we sure don’t like the idea of it being the case, in spite of the fact it very much is. And Rush Duels, and its shows, promote a unique approach to making it easier to learn again.
The card names, Levels, and stat values are clear. The effect costs and abilities are made clear. It’s focus on the hand, field and graveyard, rather than just searching for whatever we want promotes strategic deckbuilding, and the infinite Normals allow for Tribute Summons to have more staying power than they do in the OCG/TCG. Combine it with the unique Maximums that work well with the drawing until you get 5 cards in hand each turn, alongside the Fusion and Equip side of things, I find Rush Duels to be rather fun and quick, but do still ask the players to put in thought when it comes to building the deck and the strategies they wish to use and counter.
But in spite of all of that, the game is still simple enough on a consumer level that children can learn it easily. And that’s the most important part of Rush Duels. Allowing a whole new audience to experience Yu-Gi-Oh, and forge new friendships from it, without the absolutely steep learning curve that is modern day Yu-Gi-Oh.
TLDR: Rush Duel is meant to be simple to let children play the game, and the show should be catered towards the younger audience as a result. Wanting to make the game or show more adult completely misses the point of the game, shows, and the concept of Rush Duels as a whole.
I know but the fact that is a show for childreen doesnt mean they cant put more effort to make a good story. They can make something that also adult can enjoy.
@juanma The thing is they DID put the effort in, and they still are with Go Rush. I haven’t caught up yet but for 2 whole seasons and introducing a time travel plot it might be the most consistent and thought-out plot I’ve ever seen in any long running media
Was the gap between vrains ending and sevens starting that big to warrant so many fewer episodes? I don’t remember. Only saw the 1st epi of Go and got turned off by stat creep. Some things I’ve heard about the manga make me actually want to go through it first which would be a first for ygo. May watch Go someday for the pirate hat waifu.
I can’t believe some people actually stan that mediocrity of a series.
Ironically, it seems that GO RUSH was going to end in Season 2, but the popularity of the Anime in Japan caused a Season 3 to be created.
In short, Japan was the one who demanded that there be more of GO RUSH and Studio Bridge simply gave them one more Season (here I see a ZEXAL case: a Yu-Gi-Oh series very loved and popular in Japan, but hated in the West)
Facts, this show is unwatchable. Boring duels, bad animation, non existent plot, lame character designs, zero stakes, zero hype
interesting that itll be 151, i think that’ll make it the longest series since 5Ds.
can’t wait for the next rush series
It doesn’t need to be a more adult anime, just having a better plot and less nonsense is good. Go Rush uses 4 minutes of the episode for small talk and 18 minutes for dueling card propaganda (which are often only in the anime) and in the end the anime takes a long time to develop a very simple plot
honestly i don’t mind the plot spacing, but can we please get more interesting duels?
why does every non-finale duel have to be 3-4 turns? some variety is needed or even fans of the current formula will find it stale.
Leaving aside the opinions and comments if you like Rush’s Animes or not, it is curious that this is the first official news that there is the idea of making a Dub for GO RUSH.
Some interesting things about this little information:
– If it turns out that it is true that they are starting the GO RUSH Dub, it means that we will not have GO RUSH World in Duel Links this year.
– The fact that they have said an average of how many Episodes GO RUSH has means that Bridge already knows how to finish the story of GO RUSH in this Season 3 (basically, they already have the route to follow)
– Ending in a number like “151” is strange to say the least, but there is a discreet clue in that number: 1 + 5 + 1 = 7. The number “7” has always been something characteristic of Rush’s Animes: SEVENS ended in the Episode 92 -> 9 – 2 = 7.
Considering Duel Links will need a GO RUSH dub at some point for the inevitable world and characters (implied to release in September 2025), I am not shocked Konami has announced this dub in advance.
Iirc SEVENS started their dub in early 2021, released the series throughout 2022 and 2023, and got their DL world in 2023.
What I am more surprised about is that we aren’t ending the series at 153 episodes. As the first two seasons were 51 episodes each, it means we have two scheduled breaks this year beyond what we expected.
I like the Rush Duel cards and the game, but this show is unwatchable. Boring duels, bad animation, non existent plot, lame character designs, zero stakes, zero hype. They aren’t even trying anymore…
Agree lmao Just look at those character designs hahaha they are not even worthy to be a cover pack
@ghmorello A garbage anime is not worthy of my cry to begin with LOL
