Ok, I didn’t at all expect “Esperade” to be the main Over Rush Rare of the pack: I had thought about other options before that Romin’s Ace, but it makes sense considering that “Prima Guitarna” had its Over Rush Rare recently.
However, he would say the highlight is the new Spell/Trap Card: the Spell Card allows you to obtain necessary resources and prepare GY. Meanwhile, the Trap Card allows you to survive if you have low LP, as well as prevent burn or battle damage (see Magic Cylinder)
However, I feel that “Esperade” and “Prima Guitarna” need a Retrain that can get the same name from the OG Monsters in order to get the maximum potential out of this support focused on these two Monsters: “Esperade” especially since its Effect is really bad for the current Meta as well as for the beginning of Rush Duels.
As expected, we would have (even more) cross promotion for MRP2 in here, given that we already have Owlchannel for Voltcondor and to a lesser extent Companions for Psychic Musician. This time we have more blatant Romin support, filling the gaps that MRP2 kept open until now.
Given how much unique support Esperade had in MRP2 (featured on Resolve, directly mentioned on Psykickoff and Dream Ticket), it strange to me that she didn’t get her Star’s Hand counterpart there unlike PG and V-FRND. Now we know why.
Camera Lady has the best effect of the 3 SHs that require a specific Psychic on your field, but Esperade is just very clunky to use even with Konami’s attempts at summoning her more easily. She is essentially a huge beatstick until you get to 2000 LP or lower, and many of the cards that work with her also work for PG, who is much better on her own at any point in the game and is compatible with several Fusions. And Psychic already has several backrow removal options that don’t require you to commit your Deck around a terrible boss monster. There’s little reason to use it even in this Deck.
Miracle Pick is by far the best card in here. Although you only have 4 candidates to choose from (PG, Esperade, Giftarist, and Vi-FRND), it turns what is essentially a dead draw in hand to both adding any card of choice from the top of your Deck and setting up your GY. It has a surprising amount of versatility and combos well with many other Psychics that want to be added from GY to hand or Special Summoned from there. For the Deck that wants to run it, it is the best for resource generation and management.
Peace & Rock n’ Roll once again requires 1 of 2 mediocre boss monsters on your field, and there are much better and more generic “on summon” Traps you can use instead (especially Lullalabind and Torrential Tribute). You already have Dream Ticket, which is superior to this card in nearly every way. I guess the fact that it destroys any monster and not just the one your opponent summons is a plus, but you need to keep your on board PG or Esperade during your opponent’s turn, and as they are fragile you have little reason to end your turn on them unless you have no other choice.
We’re nearing the end of the set and so far it’s not as impressive as I would have hoped. I expected more Yuamu support as she is anime backlogged and desperately needs it, but even in her own set she got overshadowed.
I quite like it, the original print looked like if Romen went evil, as well as her superstar. Like this at least she looks like a normal musician than a punk that wants to smash your face with a instrument.
