The second Core Booster for fiscal year 2024 “RAGE OF THE ABYSS” releases on July 27th, 2024. This pack contains new cards for existing themes as well as brand new themes. The first run of this pack comes with a “+1 Bonus Pack” with each box.
Also, “RAGE OF THE ABYSS” contains Quarter Century Secret Rares in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game!

Water, along with Light and Dark, have millions of support cards already. They don’t need to ever get any support ever again.
Until Konami gives FIRE 20 years of support, then and only then xan any other element receive any support. If you disagree, you are wrong.

Probably just Mermails like Rising Abyss only had Mermails. Atlanteans will likely have their own Structure Deck R.
We know almost nothing about Infinitw Forbidden cards… almost nothing about duelist of brilliance and NOTHING about Animation Chronicle 2024… and still they announced a new set… nice job there konami… nice job

Three things likely in this pack
1)Something fish related as abyss can refer to the ocean, heck it could be the “Abyss” legacy support
2) Something dark related as staring into the abyss can mean staring into darkness
3) Blue-Eyes support as Abyss was used for a set with Blue-Eyes as the cover card before
could end up being Branded support (way too many archetypes in that set to list them all), after all, the Despia/Bystial were said to come from the Abyss (a large diimensional (?) hole)
but considering the tag line “the depths never forgives” I think this is definitely something fish or deep sea related. Perhaps a new archetype of fish monster based on the ocean floor? “Sub-Ocean” or something like that?
Deep Sea is already a theme with Diva etc. But it never got support that referred to them by name so it hasn’t been made an official archetype yet.
Dark support lair of darkness or maybe more mako support. Oh kraken and phantasm or definitely more mermail and alatanian

I’d say the otherwise my dude, Shark support focused on the actual “Sharks” Reginald (human form) version. We already had Barian strategy in the Water Duelist Pack
My first guess is going to be a new Chaos Shark Drake or Leviathan Dragon. Abyss is used for WATER Duelists and Shark is the most prominent. Plus Abyss Rising had Shark Drake Weiss on the package.
Abyss Splash was used in a bunch of duels.

Cover card I’m willing to bet is a ranked-up Number C version of Number 32, in contrast to the “old-style” Number C32: Shark Drake Veiss. It’d be nice symbolism in that it’d represent Shark both before and after accepting his identity as Nasch.
Xyz armor stuff is mostly related to normal Shark and its not that old, hmm.
No idea how some people in the comments still think the name of the core booster could be hinting at anything other than an anime theme lol… you people been living under a rock the last 4 years?
To be fair the set name can also hint at non-anime support. Like how Lightsworn debuted in Light of Destruction and then got support in Legacy of Destruction.
Is this set why we got a bunch of Burning Abyss reprints this year?

For me the cover card is related to shark drake and I hope for support for atlantean and if I could hope they make it in to realty: Daedalus support for make tgem an actual archtype. I hope it because in rising rampage instead of make the R version of the SD Lord Of The Storm they add a good slot of Simorgh support, and since The Sd Was Called Fury From The Deep I hope they will be in here.
Lord of the Storm was pretty much a Harpie deck that just weirdly had a non-Harpie ace card (Simorgh).

When will people realize that the main theme in booster core is for an anime only characters
On God they never make the cover card something not from the show every single main core pack has always had a character archetype on the cover from DM to Vrains since they switched up the format back in 2020 starting with rise of the duelist following rush duels coming out in Japan bc we no longer have or need the cardgame to follow the anime which is better for us imo. Bc y’all know how much new legacy support we’ve gotten in just 4 years tons so I don’t see them not giving us another character for the cover of this pack

Well, pattern-wise the Atlantean structure deck would be the next deck to get a remake for the summer. And then the Aqua-type Tistina archetype will be imported to OCG right after that.
As far as water decks go my hopes specifically would be Aquaactress with 3 Pendulum monsters, a field spell and a new Aqua Story trap. And then for non-anime themes Frog with 1 new main deck monster( an alternate that counts as T.A.D.P.O.L.E.) and a new Frog Fusion monster. Then maybe some new Paleozoic support…
Of course the mascot theme will most likely be for Shark. I was really hoping Ancient Fairy Dragon would be getting respectable support. Luna is the only Signer that hasn’t had anything. Jack got a structure deck last year and before that Leo was in Duelist Pack.

People are cheering for shark support but did we not just get some in agov? I get it wasn’t only for sharks but the support was at the least intended to be used with it
literally, red-eyes black dragon support when? DM and blue-eyes have gotten two waves of supports ever since the last batch of cards of red-eyes, its been ages… we only got 3 single cards in 3 differents sets, and is not like they were worth the wait.
Red-eyes are having crisis identity right now, what are they? Fusion? Gemini? Equips? Ritual? Xyz? I think konami still cooking with new theme for them, idk maybe Pendulum
It could be among the supports for the secondary anime themes of this pack. Generally the packs of the 12th series release legacy support for a theme combined with the series of the previous pack. So, since LEDE and INFO (perhaps more LEDE because INFO is a special case for the anniversary) present bosses linked to the DM series, theoretically we should have another DM theme for the next pack, since amoung the reprints from Quarter Century Chronicle the only recently not fully supported themes are pratically only Red-Eyes and Harpie. To show you what I mean:
Duelist Nexus: Altergeist → Vrains → Cyberstorm Access
Age of Overlord: T.G. → 5D’s → Duelist Nexus
Phantom Nightmare: Raidraptor → Arc-V → Age of Overlord
Legacy of Destruction: Ancient Gear → Gx → Phantom Nightmare
However, I too have been waiting for Red-Eyes for a long time for the OCG, ever since they announced Soul and RE Black Meteor Dragon. I really don’t understand why Konami is ignoring it so much when its “brothers” have already received a wave each for BACH and other little things, especially since in OCG Dragoon – the most effective weapon in the deck – is also banned.

It’s about time we have the name of the next entension after Infinite Forbidden: i started to worry aout the fact it’ll be stopped. When i see the article i though it was an april fools but after i see the link i confired myself it’s a true one.
Well for this extension i think it’ll be ZEXAL cuz Abyss remind me the card Shark Drake which was used by Shark and on the other hand the extension “Rise of the abyss”. Okay i think it’ll be 6 weeks to wait until the cover card are revealed.
My guess for the cover card are one of those 3 options:
– Chaos version of number 17
– Upgraded version of Number C32 shark drake veiss
– A mix between number C32 and CXyz barian hope
this better has mermail/atlantean support lol
