Including some news announcements and news around some changes for existing licences.

A recent announcement has confirmed that Konami Cross Media have signed new licencing agreements with King Ice and YoungLA. Their agreement with King Ice is for a line of Yu-Gi-Oh! chains, pendants, bracelets and rings while their agreement with YoungLA is for several lifestyle collections, which include T-shirts, shorts, joggers, hoodies and flannels.

These products are aimed at engaging with the Generation Z demographic engaging with the IP, according to Jennifer Coleman, KCM New York’s Vice President of licencing and marketing.

First 4 Figures have announced they are discontinuing their PVC statues, though they still plan to release resin statues. This is largely due to the cost and current low demand – notably, when First 4 Figures initially acquired their Yu-Gi-Oh! licence, they had planned only on resin statues at the time.

They have confirmed that they are developing Yu-Gi-Oh! drink coasters (ravegrl notes that, based on previous coaster prices, these will likely be $29.99 USD each) and “Silhou-Arts”. They also noted they would likely be able to make an Exodia Necross statue after their Exodia the Forbidden One statue, as the only necessary change would be the colour scheme (YouTooz recently did something similar).

Plastoy have also provided some more updates following their acquisition of Taka Corp Studio’s Yu-Gi-Oh! licence. Pre-orders for the Yami Yugi and Slifer the Sky Dragon sculpture are now live on their website, to be released in October 2024; BigBadToyStore continues to have the preorders on their website for US retailers for $919.99 USD. Plastoy also confirmed the Seto Kaiba with Obelisk the Tormentor and Millennium Puzzle sculptures.
