I’m kind of side-eyeing the fact that they put in that Bika “focuses too much on appearances” in Bika’s own concept art notes.
Said notes also does confirm something I’d been confused about regarding Beidai, in that he is indeed a guy.
Wish they had an archetype like Shaman Bandits in Tcg/OCG
But ideally not completely waifu-based
I’m such a boomer, I miss when monsters were a green dragon or just a really big insect.
So… like… never?
Yu-Gi-Oh! sells cute anime girls since it became a legit game and not just Manga plot device referencing MTG. The first promotional card releases in OCG was Kanaan The Swordmistress (which at that moment was also strongest non-tribute monster!) and Yugi’s ace monster got marketable Waifu sidekick in Battle City arc for that reason, too.
It’s Japanese franchise for Japanese otaku and they loved their anime girls long before you, I and everybody in this comment section were alive.
I get were you are going (I’m hope I’m replying correctly), but I’m not talking about the “waifuness” of the designs, I mean, my favorite cards are the Harpie Ladies, I’m talking about how complex the designs are. Like with pokemon, I guess, I like better simpler designs, more organic. Kannan, Dunamis Valkyrie or even my beloved Harpie Lady, are way simpler in appearance, and, I mean, a dragon was just a dragon and a dinosaur was just a dinosaur, now most of them look mechanical or something.
they still make those, you are just probably blind of old age
They didn’t have to put an inorganic blade on Destroyersaurus’ head but they couldn’t get help themselves. Even most sharks are mechanical and canonically shoot lasers. Monster is such a misnomer. They should be called Servant cards or Aleister cards.
We got Misairuzame, a missile-launching shark, within a few months of the start of the OCG…
it’s clear rush duel is made for kids
Duhhhhhh are you that clueless
Appealing design = For Kids
