Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for another RDP, this time centered on the Code Talker archetype! The Code Talkers are a set of Cyberse link monsters that, under the right conditions, can chain Link Summons together into an Extra Link board. It’s all connected by Cynet Codec, a Continuous Spell that tutors a Cyberse monster each time a Code Talker is Link Summoned, with the same attributed as the Link Summoned monster. As a result, Codec can tutor up to 6 monsters in the turn, which can truly go a long way in sustaining further Link Summons. The Code monsters are great targets for this as Micro Coder, Code Generator, Code Exporter (YGOrg Translation), and Code Radiator all can be used from the hand as Link material for a Code Talker summon, while also providing other effects such as getting Cynet or Cyberse cards to hand.
The Code Talker strategy isn’t new, even for my channel, but today I wanted to specifically showcase how a Salamangreat engine can combine with the great Code Talker and Cyberse Link support that is already out there. First off, Salamangreat Balelynx is a Link 1 monster that can be summoned using any Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster. While it tutors Salamangreat Sanctuary on summon, it’s primary use is to enable the Special Summon of Salamangreat Gazelle from the hand whenever Balelynx is sent to the GY as Link material itself. When that happens, Salamangreat Spiny can be sent to the GY then Special Summoned, giving you 2 additional materials. Since the Salamangreat monsters are FIRE/Cyberse, you can tutor that Gazelle off of Codec whenever you Link Summon Decode Talker Heatsoul, but you can also rely on the tried but true Salamangreat Circle. Outside of the Talkers, you can also lean upon powerful boss monsters such as Firewall Dragon and Mekk-Knight Crusadia Avramax, both Link 4’s that can be integral to any end board, or that help you break through a weakened opponent. The final piece that makes this deck work is Knightmare Corruptor Iblee, as it can be brought to the field through a variety of combo chains, to then use as Link Material and prevent your opponent from Special Summoning. It’s a great way to disrupt the meta and stop an opponent in their tracks. Put on your white hat and join the Code Talkers!
