Q: If Pianissimo is activated by targeting an Aria the Melodious Diva whose ATK and DEF has been halved by the effect of Blackwing – Gale the Whirlwind, what happens to its ATK and DEF?
A: If the ATK and DEF of Aria the Melodious Diva have been halved by the effect of Blackwing – Gale the Whirlwind, they become 800 and 600 respectively. After the effect of Pianissimo is applied, the ATK will become 100, but the DEF remains unchanged, so the ATK and DEF will be 100 and 600 respectively. (Note that once the effect of Pianissimo stops applying, the ATK will return to its original value, but the effect of Blackwing – Gale the Whirlwind continues to apply to the DEF, so the ATK and DEF will be 1600 and 600, respectively.)

Q: If Pianissimo is activated by targeting a Serenade the Melodious Diva equipped with United We Stand, what happens to its ATK and DEF? Also, if Pianissimo is activated by targeting a Serenade the Melodious Diva affected by Luminous Spark, what happens to its ATK and DEF?
A: While Serenade the Melodious Diva is equipped with United We Stand, its ATK and DEF become 1200 and 2700 respectively, and if the effect of Pianissimo is applied, the ATK is recalculated. The original ATK becomes 100, and ATK gained by United We Stand is added, so the ATK and DEF become 900 and 2700 respectively. (Note that once the effect of Pianissimo stops applying, the ATK and DEF return to 1200 and 2700 respectively.) Also, while Serenade the Melodious Diva is affected by Luminous Spark, its ATK and DEF become 900 and 1500 respectively, and if the effect of Pianissimo is applied, the ATK is recalculated. The original ATK becomes 100, and ATK gained by Luminous Spark is added, so the ATK and DEF become 600 and 1500 respectively. (Note that once the effect of Pianissimo stops applying, the ATK and DEF return to 900 and 1500 respectively.)

Also, if the effect of Pianissimo has already been applied, but Book of Moon is then activated, changing the affected monster to face-down Defense Position, what happens to the effect of Pianissimo?
A: The effect of Pianissimo does not apply if the targeted monster is changed to face-down Defense Position when it resolves. Also, if the effect of Pianissimo has already been applied, it will no longer apply once the affected monster is changed to face-down Defense Position.

Q: Gem-Knight Lady Brilliant Diamond is Fusion Summoned by Brilliant Fusion. Then, if Forbidden Lance is activated so that Gem-Knight Lady Brilliant Diamond is no longer affected by Spell effects, what happens to its ATK and DEF? Also, will it be destroyed if Brilliant Fusion leaves the field?
A: Even if the monster Fusion Summoned by Brilliant Fusion becomes unaffected by Spell effects, its ATK and DEF remain 0, and it is still destroyed if Brilliant Fusion leaves the field.

Q: Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli is Fusion Summoned by Brillaint Fusion. Then, if the second effect of Brilliant Fusion is activated, but Forbidden Lance is chained, making Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli unaffected by Spell effects, what does its ATK and DEF become? Also, if the effect of Brilliant Fusion has already been applied, but Forbidden Lance is then activated, making Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli unaffected by Spell effects, what does its ATK and DEF become?
A: When the effect of Brilliant Fusion resolves, if the Fusion Monster is unaffected by Spell effects, it does not gain ATK and DEF from the effect of Brilliant Fusion. Also, if the effect of Brilliant Fusion has already been applied, and the Fusion Monster then becomes unaffected by Spell effects, the ATK and DEF gained by the effect continues to apply. (From that value, the effect of Forbidden Lance will make the monster lose 800 ATK.)

Q: Gem-Knight Lady Brilliant Diamond is Fusion Summoned by Brilliant Fusion. Then, if the second effect of Brilliant Fusion is activated, but Mystical Space Typhoon is chained, destroying Brilliant Fusion, what happens to the ATK and DEF of Gem-Knight Lady Brilliant Diamond?
A: If Brilliant Fusion has been destroyed by the time its second effect resolves, the effect to increase ATK and DEF does not apply, but since Brilliant Fusion was destroyed by Mystical Space Typhoon, its effect that destroys the Fusion Summoned monster does apply. Therefore, in this situation, Gem-Knight Lady Brilliant Diamond is destroyed by Brilliant Fusion.

Q: Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli is Fusion Summoned by Brilliant Fusion. Then, if Book of Moon is activated so that Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli is changed to face-down Defense Position, what happens to its ATK and DEF? Also, will it be destroyed if Brilliant Fusion leaves the field?
A: If the monster Fusion Summoned by Brilliant Fusion is changed to face-down Defense Position, its ATK and DEF return to their original value, and it is not destroyed if Brilliant Fusion leaves the field. In this example, the ATK and DEF of Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli return to 2400 and 1000 respectively. Also note that you will not be able to activate the second effect of Brilliant Fusion to have Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli gain ATK and DEF equal to its original ATK and DEF.

Q: Can Solemn Warning negate the Xyz Summon performed by the effect of Rank-Up-Magic Raptor’s Force?
A: Solemn Warning can be chained to Rank-Up-Magic Raptor’s Force to negate its activation. Note that the effect of Rank-Up-Magic Raptor’s Force performs a Special Summon when it resolves, and treats it as an Xyz Summon, so when this effect is resolving it is not possible to activate Solemn Warning.

Q: Can Rank-Up-Magic Raptor’s Force be activated regardless of whether a “Raidraptor” Xyz Monster has been destroyed by battle, or card effect this turn?
A: If a “Raidraptor” Xyz Monster on your side of the field was destroyed either by battle or card effect this turn, you can activate Rank-Up-Magic Raptor’s Force. Note that even if a “Raidraptor” Xyz Monster was destroyed by battle or card effect while it was in face-down Defense Position, you can still activate Rank-Up-Magic Raptor’s Force this turn.

Q: If I gain control of my opponent’s “Raidraptor” Xyz Monster with Creature Swap, and that monster is then destroyed and sent to my opponent’s Graveyard, can I still activate Rank-Up-Magic Raptor’s Force this turn?
A: Even in this case, if you have a “Raidraptor” Xyz Monster in your Graveyard that can be targeted, you can activate Rank-Up-Magic Raptor’s Force.

Q: If Rank-Up-Magic Raptor’s Force is activated, but the effect of D.D. Crow is chained, so that the targeted “Raidraptor” Xyz Monster in the Graveyard is no longer present, how does Rank-Up-Magic Raptor’s Force resolve?
A: When resolving Rank-Up-Magic Raptor’s Force, if the targeted monster is no longer in the Graveyard, since it cannot be Special Summoned, you cannot also Special Summon a “Raidraptor” Xyz Monster with a higher Rank using it as the Xyz Material.

Q: While the effects of my Barrier Bubble are applying, if Icarus Attack is activated by targeting both Barrier Bubble and a “Performage” (or “Performapal”) monster on my side of the field, will that monster be destroyed?
A: In this situation, Barrier Bubble itself is destroyed by Icarus Attack, but the targeted monster is not destroyed due to the effect of Barrier Bubble, and it will remain on the field.

Q: If I have 2 copies of Barrier Bubble on my side of the field, will their effects prevent each “Performage” and “Performapal” monster on my side of the field from being destroyed twice per turn?
A: If you have 2 copies of Barrier Bubble on your side of the field, since each of their effects are applied at the same time when a “Performage” or “Performapal” monster would be destroyed, each one will still only not be destroyed once each turn. (The effect is the same as if you were only controlling 1 Barrier Bubble.)

Q: If the first effect of Barrier Bubble has been applied to a monster this turn, and then Book of Moon is activated so that the monster is changed to face-down Defense Position, if that monster is flipped face-up again, will the effect of Barrier Bubble be able to apply to it once again this turn?
A: In this situation, even if the monster that was not destroyed due to the effect of Barrier Bubble becomes face-down, it is still treated as having been protected by Barrier Bubble this turn. Therefore, even if the monster is flipped face-up again, the effect of Barrier Bubble cannot be applied to it again this turn.

Q: Barrier Bubble is face-up on my side of the field, as well as a Performapal Silver Claw affected by Half Unbreak. In this situation, if Performapal Silver Claw battles a monster with higher ATK, will the first effect of Barrier Bubble be applied?
A: In this situation, Performapal Silver Claw is already in a state in which it cannot be destroyed by battle due to the effect of Half Unbreak. Therefore, if Performapal Silver Claw battles a monster with higher ATK, it is not destroyed due to the effect of Half Unbreak, and the effect of Barrier Bubble is not applied.

Q: Barrier Bubble is face-up on my side of the field, as well as a Performapal Cheermole affected by Forbidden Lance. In this case, if Performapal would be destroyed by battle or card effect, will the first effect of Barrier Bubble still apply?
A: Since the first effect of Barrier Bubble is one that affects the monster, if that monster is unaffected by Spell/Trap effects, this effect will not be applied. Therefore, if it would be destroyed by battle or card effects, it is destroyed normally.
http://www.db.yugioh-card.com/yugiohdb/faq_search.action?ope=5&fid=15431&keyword=&tag=-1
Q: Barrier Bubble is face-up on my side of the field. If my Performapal Fire Mufflerlion affected by Forbidden Lance battles, and I would take battle damage as a result, will the second effect of Barrier Bubble apply so that I take no damage? Also, if my Performapal Friendonkey battles an opponent’s monster affected by Forbidden Lance, and I would take battle damage as a result, will the second effect of Barrier Bubble apply so that I take no damage?
A: The effect of Barrier Bubble that prevents you from taking battle damage from battles involving “Performage” or “Performapal” on your side of the field is not an effect that affects monsters, so even if your “Performage” or “Performapal” monsters are affected by Forbidden Lance, or if they battle an opponent’s monster affected by Forbidden Lance, you take no battle damage from those battles.

Q: Can I Fusion Summon Five-Headed Dragon or First of the Dragons with Red-Eyes Fusion?
A: Red-Eyes Fusion can only be used to Fusion Summon a monster with a “Red-Eyes” monster as Fusion Material. In other words, you can only Fusion Summon B. Skull Dragon, Meteor B. Dragon, or Black Skull Archfiend Dragon. Therefore, you cannot Fusion Summon Five-Headed Dragon or First of the Dragons with Red-Eyes Fusion, as they do not have a “Red-Eyes” monster as a Fusion Material.

Q: While the effect of Macro Cosmos is applying, can Cards of the Red be activated? Also, if Macro Cosmos is activated in a chain to Cards of the Red, how does it resolve?
A: If the effect of Macro Cosmos is applying, you cannot send a Level 7 “Red-Eyes” monster from your hand to the Graveyard, so you cannot activate Cards of the Red. If Macro Cosmos is chained to Cards of the Red and is applying when Cards of the Red resolves, you will draw 2 cards from your Deck normally. Then, although you can choose whether or not to apply the effect that sends a Level 7 “Red-Eyes” monster from your Deck to the Graveyard, if you do, the Level 7 “Red-Eyes” monster that would be sent to the Graveyard is banished instead.

Q: If the effect of Ignition Phoenix is activated by targeting Igknight Magnum, but Book of Moon is chained, changing the same Igknight Magnum to face-down Defense Position, how does the effect of Ignition Phoenix resolve?

Q: If the effect of Ignition Phoenix is activated by targeting Igknight Dragunov, but Mistake is chained, how does the effect of Ignition Phoenix resolve?
A: In this case, if the effect if Mistake is applying, it is not possible to add any cards from your Deck to your hand other than by drawing, so you cannot apply the effect of Ignition Phoenix which adds an “Igknight” card from your Deck to your hand. Even so, the effect of destroying Igknight Dragunov is still applied. Also, if the effect of Mistake is already applying, the effect of Ignition Phoenix cannot be activated.

Q: If the first effect of Aroma Garden activates, but my opponent chains Bad Reaction to Simochi, how does the effect resolve?
A: In this situation, the effect of your opponent’s Bad Reaction to Simochi turns any effect that would make you gain Life Points into one that inflicts that amount of damage instead, but even if the Life Points that you would gain from the effect of Aroma Garden becomes damage instead, the effect that makes your monsters gain 500 ATK and DEF is still applied normally.

Q: After the first effect of my Aroma Garden has been applied, if I activate a second copy of Aroma Garden this turn, can the first effect be activated again? If so, what happens?
A: After applying the first effect of 1 copy of Aroma Garden, even if a second copy is activated, the effect of the first continues to apply. In addition, you can activate that effect of the second copy that turn. In that case, the effect of the second copy of Aroma Garden will increase the ATK and DEF of your monsters by 500 until the end of your opponent’s turn, so the total ATK and DEF gained by your monsters will be 1000.

Q: After the first effect of Aroma Garden has been applied, if the effect of Forbidden Lance is applied to a monster on my side of the field, what happens to its ATK and DEF?
A: After the effect of Aroma Garden has been applied, if a monster on your side of the field becomes affected by Forbidden Lance, it becomes unaffected by Spell effects which means it does not gain 500 ATK or DEF. Once the effect of Forbidden Lance stops applying, the monster will gain 500 ATK and DEF again.

Then, if Mystical Space Typhoon is activated and Void Dream is destroyed, so that the total Levels/Ranks of all Effect Monsters on my side of the field become 9 or higher, what happens to my “Infernoid” monsters?
A: If you Special Summon “Infernoid” monsters while Void Dream is applying, and their total original Levels are 9 or higher, and then Void Dream is destroyed by Mystical Space Typhoon, the effect of Void Dream will no longer apply but any “Infernoid” monsters already on your side of the field will remain on the field. If I activate the effect of Void Dream that Fusion Summons an “Infernoid” Fusion Monster, but my opponent chains Book of Moon and changes Qliphort Monolith to face-down Defense Position, how does the effect of Void Dream resolve?
A: When resolving the effect of Void Dream, if there is no longer a face-up monster on your opponent’s side of the field that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, you cannot use monsters in your Main Deck as Fusion Materials. A: As long as 2 or more cards were destroyed by Swaying Gaze, the corresponding effects can be applied in order. For example, if you destroyed 2 cards in the Pendulum Zones with it, even if the “● 1 or more:” effect cannot inflict damage to your opponent, the “● 2 or more:” effect can still be applied.

A: In this situation, if the card in your opponent’s Pendulum Zone cannot be destroyed by the effect of Swaying Gaze, the cards in your own Pendulum Zone are destroyed normally. In this case, since the effect of Swaying Gaze destroyed 2 cards, the “● 1 or more:” is applied, and you can also choose to apply the “● 2 or more:” effect as well.

A card in the Pendulum Zone that was already destroyed by Swaying Gaze cannot be selected to be banished. Furthermore, you cannot select the resolving Swaying Gaze itself. Since you may choose to banish a card on either player’s side of the field, if there are no other cards on the field, it will be assumed that the “● 3 or more:” effect is not being applied.

Q: If I Normal Summon Gem-Knight Garnet, and then my opponent activates Bottomless Trap Hole so that Gem-Knight Garnet is destroyed and banished, can I activate Brilliant Spark?
A: Even in this situation, because a “Gem-Knight” monster on your side of the field has been destroyed by your opponent’s card effect, you can activate Brilliant Spark. The Gem-Knight Garnet that is banished will be targeted by Brilliant Spark.

Q: While the effect of Macro Cosmos is applying, when a “Raidraptor” monster on my side of the field is destroyed by battle, can I activate Raidraptor – Return?
A: Yes, you can. But since the destroyed “Raidraptor” monster is banished instead of being sent to the Graveyard, if you do not have another “Raidraptor” monster in your Graveyard, you cannot activate Raidraptor – Return.

Q: A Performage Tricklown I control is destroyed by battle and sent to my Graveyard, and I activate Trick Box. When resolving the effect of Trick Box, do I have to choose that Performage Tricklown to Special Summon to my opponent’s side of the field?
A: When resolving the effect of Trick Box, you can Special Summon any “Performage” monster present in your Graveyard. In the above situation, if you have another “Performage” monster in your Graveyard along with Performage Tricklown, it is possible to Special Summon a different monster.

Q: While the effect of Vanity’s Emptiness is applying, can I activate Trick Box? Also, if Trick Box is activated, but Vanity’s Emptiness is chained, how does the effect of Trick Box resolve?
A: While the effect of Vanity’s Emptiness is applying, Trick Box cannot be activated. If Trick Box is activated (outside of the Damage Step), but Vanity’s Emptiness is chained so that its effect is applying, then only the effect that takes control of the opponent’s monster until the End Phase is applied.

Q: While the effect of Necrovalley is applying, can I activate Trick Box?

Q: If I take control of an opponent’s monster with Trick Box, but that monster leaves the field, what happens during the End Phase? Also, if the monster Special Summoned to my opponent’s side of the field is later removed from the field, what happens during the End Phase?
A: Even if the monster you took control of with Trick Box, or the monster Special Summoned to your opponent’s side of the field, is removed from the field before the End Phase, the effect that applies during the End Phase is still carried out. (For example, if the monster you took control of is no longer on the field, the “Performage” monster you Special Summoned still returns to its owner. And if the Special Summoned monster is no longer on the field, the monster you took control of still returns to your opponent’s control.)

Q: If I take control of an opponent’s monster with Trick Box, but that monster is changed to face-down Defense Position by the effect of Book of Moon, what happens during the End Phase? Also, if the monster Special Summoned to my opponent’s side of the field is later changed to face-down Defense Position by the effect of Book of Moon, what happens during the End Phase?
A: If you take control of an opponent’s monster with Trick Box, but that monster is then changed to face-down Defense Position, it will return to your opponent’s control during the End Phase normally. Also, if the “Performage” monster Special Summoned from your Graveyard is later changed to face-down Defense Position, it is no longer treated as having been Special Summoned by Trick Box, so the effect of returning it to its owner’s control during the End Phase does not apply. (The opponent will keep control of it.)

(When a face-down “Performage” monster is destroyed by a card effect, you cannot activate Trick Box. But note that if a face-down “Performage” monster is attacked and flipped face-up, it will be face-up when it is destroyed, so you can activate Trick Box.)

Q: If the first effect of Return of Red-Eyes is activated, but Compulsory Evacuation Device is chained, so that when resolving this effect you no longer control a “Red-Eyes” monster, will the effect that Special Summons a Normal Monster still apply?
A: When resolving the effect of Return of Red-Eyes, even if you no longer have a “Red-Eyes” monster on your side of the field, the targeted Normal Monster is still Special Summoned.

Q: If a Normal Monster has been Special Summoned by the effect of Return of Red-Eyes, and then Return of Red-Eyes is destroyed by Mystical Space Typhoon, what happens to the Special Summoned Normal Monster?
A: The effect of Return of Red-Eyes targets 1 Normal Monster in your Graveyard, but does not continue to target that monster after it is Special Summoned. Therefore, after it is Special Summoned, if Return of Red-Eyes is destroyed by Mystical Space Typhoon, the Normal Monster will remain on the field.

Q: If Igknight Burst is the only face-up “Igknight” card on my side of the field, can I activate its first effect?
A: When selecting cards to destroy with the effect of Igknight Burst, you cannot destroy that same copy. Therefore, if Igknight Burst is the only “Igknight” card on your side of the field, you cannot activate its first effect.

Q: Can face-down “Igknight” cards on my side of the field be selected and destroyed when resolving the first effect of Igknight Burst?
A: When resolving the effect of Igknight Burst, you can only destroy face-up “Igknight” cards. (You cannot destroy face-down cards.) Thus, if you do not have any other face-up “Igknight” cards on your side of the field, you cannot activate this effect.

Q: If there is only 1 card on my opponent’s side of the field, can I activate the first effect of Igknight Burst and destroy 3 “Igknight” cards on my side of the field?
A: The effect of Igknight Burst destroys up to 3 “Igknight” cards on your side of the field, then returns an equal number of cards on your opponent’s side of the field to the hand. In this situation, since there is only 1 card on your opponent’s side of the field that can be returned to the hand, you can only destroy 1 “Igknight” card on your side of the field with the effect of Igknight Burst. (You cannot destroy 2 or more cards.)

Q: Both players have 4000 Life Points. If I activate the first effect of Refreshing Wind by paying 1000 Life Points, so that my Life Points become lower than my opponent’s, can I then activate the second effect of Refreshing Wind in the same chain?
A: If a Set Refreshing Wind is being activated, even though you can also activate either of its effects as part of the same chain link, you cannot activate both effects on the same chain. If Refreshing Wind is already face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone, both of its effects can be activated on the same chain. (So in this situation, if after paying 1000 Life Points to activate the first effect of Refreshing Wind your Life Points are lower than your opponent’s, you can also activate its second effect to gain 500 Life Points in the same chain.)

Q: If the first effect of Parching Wind is activated, but then Book of Moon is chained so that the targeted monster is changed to face-down Defense Position, is the effect of Parching Wind applied?

Q: My opponent activates Mystical Space Typhoon targeting my Five Brothers Explosion, which I then activate in a chain. After this chain resolves, can I activate the first effect of Parching Wind?
A: In this situation, since you have gained Life Points, you can activate the first effect of Parching Wind. Since Five Brothers Explosion has been destroyed by your opponent’s Mystical Space Typhoon, its second effect will also activate, resulting in a chain of both effects, with the effect of Five Brothers Explosion as Chain Link 1, and Parching Wind as Chain Link 2.

Q: My Vampire Koala attacks and destroys my opponent’s face-up Attack Position Giant Rat, and after damage calculation the effect of Vampire Koala activates. In this case, will the effect of Parching Wind that is face-up on my side of the field activate?
A: In this situation, the effect of Parching Wind will activate and create a chain. At this time, if the only face-up monster on your opponent’s side of the field is the Giant Rat which was destroyed by battle, it cannot be targeted by the effect of Parching Wind. In this case, even though the effect of Parching Wind activates, no target is selected and the effect does not apply. (Even so, you cannot activate this effect of Parching Wind again this turn.)
http://www.db.yugioh-card.com/yugiohdb/faq_search.action?ope=5&fid=15760&keyword=&tag=-1
Q: If the second effect of Parching Wind is activated, how does one resolve it? For example, if my Life Points are 8000, and my opponent’s Life Points are 4000, and they control a face-up Lancer Dragonute (1500 ATK), Beast of Talwar (2400 ATK), and Lancer Lindwurm (1800 ATK), how does the effect of Parching Wind resolve?
A: You can activate the second effect of Parching Wind if you have an “Aroma” monster on your side of the field, and your Life Points are 3000 or more than your opponent’s by paying that difference. When resolving the effect, you destroy 1 or more monsters on your opponent’s side of the field with a total ATK that is less than or equal to the amount of Life Points paid to activate this effect. In the above scenario, since the difference in Life Points is 4000, you activate the effect by paying 4000 Life Points. And when the effect resolves, since you paid 4000 Life Points, you will select and destroy monsters on your opponent’s side of the field with an ATK total of 4000 or less. (You cannot choose to destroy 0 monsters.) In this example, you can destroy:
• Lancer Dragonute only (1500 ATK).
• Beast of Talwar only (2400 ATK).
• Lancer Lindwurm only (1800 ATK).
• Lancer Dragonute and Beast of Talwar (3900 total ATK).
• Lancer Dragonute and Lancer Lindwurm (3300 total ATK).

Q: If my opponent has no monsters on their side of the field, can the second effect of Parching Wind be activated?
A: No, it cannot be activated. (Similarly, if all monsters on your opponent’s side of the field are face-down, you cannot activate the effect of Parching Wind.)
http://www.db.yugioh-card.com/yugiohdb/faq_search.action?ope=5&fid=15755&keyword=&tag=-1
Q: My opponent only has 1 Five-Headed Dragon (5000 ATK) on their side of the field, and my Life Points are 8000 while my opponent’s are 4000. Can I activate the second effect of Parching Wind in this situation?
A: In this situation, you would have to pay 4000 Life Points to activate the effect of Parching Wind, but since there are no monsters on your opponent’s side of the field with ATK less than or equal to 4000, there are no monsters to destroy. Therefore, you cannot activate the effect of Parching Wind.

Q: My opponent only has 4 Sheep Tokens (0 ATK) on their side of the field, and my Life Points are 6000 while my opponent’s are 3000. Can I activate the second effect of Parching Wind in this situation?
A: In this case, you can activate the effect of Parching Wind by paying 3000 Life Points. The effect will destroy monsters on your opponent’s side of the field whose total ATK is less than or equal to 3000, so you can choose any number of Sheep Tokens to destroy.

Q: If the only monsters on my side of the field are Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo and Superheavy Samurai Ogre Shutendoji in face-up Defense Position, and that Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo declares an attack while in Defense Position, can my opponent activate Storming Mirror Force?

Q: How does one apply the effect of Ferret Firestorm?
A: You can activate Ferret Firestorm if the total ATK of all face-up monsters on your opponent’s side of the field is greater than your current Life Points. (For example, if the sum of the ATK of all face-up monsters your opponent controls is 4000, and your Life Points are less than 4000, you can activate Ferret Firestorm. Then, when resolving the effect, your opponent will shuffle monsters into their Deck until the total ATK of all face-up monsters on their side of the field becomes less than your current Life Points. (For example, if your Life Points are 100, and all monsters on your opponent’s side of the field have 200 or more ATK, then your opponent must shuffle all monsters of them into the Deck.)

Q: If my opponent activates Ferret Firestorm, when I am choosing monsters to shuffle into my Deck, can I choose Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Monsters?
A: When choosing monsters to shuffle into your Deck so that the sum of their ATK is less than your opponent’s Life Points, you can choose Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Monsters as long as their ATK is not 0. In that case, they are returned to the Extra Deck instead of being shuffled into the Deck.

Q: If my opponent activates Ferret Firestorm, when I am choosing monsters to shuffle into my Deck, can I choose a Monster Token?

Q: If my opponent activates Ferret Firestorm, if I control a monster that is unaffected by Spell/Trap effects due to the effect of Forbidden Lance, how does the effect of Ferret Firestorm resolve?
A: The effect of Ferret Firestorm is not one that affects monsters. Therefore, even if you control a monster that is affected by Forbidden Lance, if that monster’s ATK is higher than your opponent’s Life Points, it must be shuffled into your Deck.
http://www.db.yugioh-card.com/yugiohdb/faq_search.action?ope=5&fid=15768&keyword=&tag=-1
Q: If my opponent activates Gift Card in a chain to my Ferret Firestorm, so that my Life Points become higher than the total ATK of my opponent’s face-up monsters, how does Ferret Firestorm resolve?
A: In that case, since the total ATK of your opponent’s face-up monsters is already less than your current Life Points, the effect of Ferret Firestorm does not apply.

Q: If I activate Judgment Scales, and then chain Emergency Provisions so that the number of cards on my side of the field has changed, how does Judgment Scales resolve? For example, my opponent has 5 cards on their side of the field, and I have 3 cards Set in my Spell & Trap Zone including Judgment Scales, and 1 in my hand. If I activate Judgment Scales, and then chain Emergency Provisions from my hand and send all 3 cards in my Spell & Trap Zone to the Graveyard, how many cards do I draw with Judgment Scales?
A: In this situation, if you chain Emergency Provisions to Judgment Scales, when resolving Judgment Scales, your opponent will have 5 cards on their side of the field while you will have 0 cards in your hand and only Emergency Provisions on your side of the field. Therefore, you will draw 4 cards.

Q: If I activate Judgment Scales, and then my opponent chains Ojama Trio so that the number of cards on my side of the field has changed, how does Judgment Scales resolve? For example, my opponent has 3 cards on their side of the field, and I have only a Set Judgment Scales on my side of the field, and 0 cards in my hand. If I activate Judgment Scales, and then my opponent chains Ojama Trio, so that the number of cards on my side of the field/hand become greater than the number of cards on my opponent’s side of the field, how many cards do I draw with Judgment Scales?
A: The effect of Judgment Scales allows you to draw cards equal to the difference between the number of cards on your side of the field and hand and the number of cards on your opponent’s side of the field, if the number of your cards is less than the number of your opponent’s cards. In this scenario, if the number of cards on your side of the field and hand exceeds the number of cards on your opponent’s side of the field, you do not draw any cards.

Q: If I have Solemn Wishes face-up on my side of the field, and I draw 2 or more cards with the effect of Judgment Scales, how many Life Points will I gain?
A: Even if you draw 2 or more cards with the effect of Judgment Scales, since the effect of drawing only occurs once, you only gain 500 Life Points with the effect of Solemn Wishes.

Q: How many cards do I need in my Deck to activate Judgment Scales?
A: You cannot activate Judgment Scales if there are not enough cards in your Deck that you would have to draw. For example, if your opponent has 6 cards on the field, and you have 1 card in your hand and 2 on the field (including Judgment Scales), the effect would make you draw 3 cards, so you would need to have at least 3 cards in your Deck.

Q: If 2 or more Fusion/Synchro/Xyz Monsters are returned to my Extra Deck at the same time by the effect of Pot of Avarice, how many Spell Counters do I place on Extra Buck?
A: In this situation, even if 2 or more Fusion/Synchro/Xyz Monsters are returned to your Extra Deck at the same time, you will only place 1 Spell Counter on Extra Buck.

Q: If I have Extra Buck face-up on my side of the field, and a Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Monster on my side of the field is returned to my Extra Deck by my opponent’s Compulsory Evacuation Device, do I place a Spell Counter on Extra Buck?
A: Even in this scenario, since you are adding a card to your Extra Deck, you will place 1 Spell Counter on Extra Buck.

Q: If I activate a Set Extra Buck, and then chain Jar of Avarice, returning Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Monsters to my Extra Deck, do I place a Spell Counter on Extra Buck?
A: The effect of placing Spell Counters on Extra Buck applies when cards are added to your Extra Deck after it resolves. In this scenario, since Jar of Avarice resolves before Extra Buck resolves, no Spell Counter is placed on Extra Buck.
http://www.db.yugioh-card.com/yugiohdb/faq_search.action?ope=5&fid=15775&keyword=&tag=-1
Q: Can the effect of placing a Spell Counter on Extra Buck only be applied once per turn?
A: As long as Extra Buck is face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone, each time a card is added to your Extra Deck, you will place 1 Spell Counter on it. If 2 or more cards are added to your Extra Deck at the same time, such as by the effect of Pot of Avarice, you will only place 1 Spell Counter on Extra Buck, but if different effects are activated during the same turn that add a card to your Extra Deck, you will place 1 Spell Counter on Extra Buck each time they resolve.

Q: If my opponent has 0 cards in their Deck, can I activate Bad Reaction?? Also, if I activate Bad Reaction?, but my opponent chains Fiend Comedian so that they have 0 cards in their Deck when Bad Reaction? resolves, how is its effect applied?
A: You cannot activate Bad Reaction? if your opponent has 0 cards in their Deck. If Bad Reaction? is activated, but your opponent has 0 cards in their Deck when it resolves, the effect of Bad Reaction? still requires your opponent to draw at least 1 card, so they will be unable to and will lose the Duel.

Q: If my opponent activates Bad Reaction? while I have 2 cards left in their Deck, can I choose to draw 3 cards?

Q: While the effect of Droll & Lock Bird is applying, can I activate Bad Reaction?? Also, if Droll & Lock Bird is somehow activated in a chain to Bad Reaction?, how does it resolve?
A: While the effect of Droll & Lock Bird is applying, Bad Reaction? cannot be activated. Also, if the effect of Droll & Lock Bird is applying when Bad Reaction? resolves, your opponent cannot draw any cards, so the effect of gaining Life Points also does not apply.

Q: Can the effect of Wicked Machine Ark Makina Special Summon Gemini or Pendulum Monsters?
A: The effect of Wicked Machine Ark Makina can only Special Summon Normal Monsters. Pendulum Monsters such as Flash Knight and Foucault’s Cannon are also Normal Monsters, so they can be Special Summoned from the hand or Graveyard by the effect of Wicked Machine Ark Makina. Also, since Gemini monsters are treated as Normal Monsters while in the Graveyard, they can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard by the effect of Wicked Machine Ark Makina, but because they are considered Effect Monsters while in the hand, they cannot be Special Summoned from the hand by the effect of Wicked Machine Ark Makina.

Q: How many cards do I need to have in my Deck to activate the first effect of Minerva, Lightsworn Saint?
A: To activate this effect of Minerva, Lightsworn Saint while it is on the field, you must have 3 or more cards in your Deck. For example, if you only have 3 cards left in your Deck, you can activate the effect of Minerva, Lightsworn Saint. In this case, you will send those 3 cards to the Graveyard, and if there are no “Lightsworn” cards among them, the effect finishes resolving. But if there are any “Lightsworn” cards among them, and you are unable to draw any more cards from your Deck, you lose the Duel.

Q: While the effect of Droll & Lock Bird is applying, can I activate the first effect of Minerva, Lightsworn Saint?
A: Even while the effect of Droll & Lock Bird is applying, you can activate the first effect of Minerva, Lightsworn Saint, and the part of it that sends the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard applies normally. However, since you cannot add any cards from your Deck to your hand, you will not be able to draw any cards even if there are “Lightsworn” cards among those sent. (The effect finishes resolving after the 3 cards are sent to the Graveyard.)

A: Even in this situation, you can activate the effect of Minerva, Lightsworn Saint. Although you still send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard as usual, the part of the effect that destroys cards on the field if there are any “Lightsworn” cards among those sent cannot be applied.

Furthermore, if control of a Minerva, Lightsworn Saint that I own is switched to my opponent, and it is then destroyed by a card effect, can I activate the second effect of Minerva, Lightsworn Saint?
A: If you are the original owner of Minerva, Lightsworn Saint, even if it is destroyed by battle while your opponent controls it, you can activate its effect. (The owner of the card may activate the effect.) Also, if you are the original owner of Minerva, Lightsworn Saint but it is destroyed by a card effect while your opponent controls it, you cannot activate its effect. Q: I activate Geargia Change by targeting a Geargiano and a Geargiano Mk-II in my Graveyard. If my opponent chains the effect of D.D. Crow, and banishes the targeted Geargiano from my Graveyard, how does Geargia Change resolve? Also, if I activate Geargia Change by targeting a Geargiano, Geargiano Mk-II, and a Geargiano Mk-III in my Graveyard, but my opponent chains the effect of D.D. Crow and banishes the targeted Geargiano from my Graveyard, how does Geargia Change resolve?
A: If Geargia Change is activated by targeting 2 monsters, but only 1 of those monsters is left in the Graveyard when the effect resolves, that monster is Special Summoned but afterward the card finishes resolving and the Xyz Summon is not performed. If Geargia Change is activated by targeting 3 monsters, but only 2 of those monsters are left in the Graveyard when the effect resolves, those monsters are Special Summoned, and after the card resolves you will perform an Xyz Summon using those 2 monsters. (If you do not have an Xyz Monster that you can Xyz Summon with only 2 materials in your Extra Deck, then the Xyz Summon is not performed.)

Q: I activate Geargia Change by targeting a Geargiano Mk-II and a Geargiano Mk-III in my Graveyard. In that case, since Geargiano Mk-III is Special Summoned by the effect of a “Geargia” card, can its effect be activated?
A: After resolving Geargia Change, and the monsters are Special Summoned from the Graveyard, you must immediately perform an Xyz Summon using those monsters as the Xyz Materials. Therefore, you would not be able to activate the effect of Geargiano Mk-III afterward. (However, if Geargia Change was activated at Chain Link 1, and when it resolved it was somehow only able to Special Summon Geargiano Mk-III so that the Xyz Summon could not be performed, you could then activate the effect of Geargiano Mk-III.)

Q: If I activate Geargia Change by targeting a Geargiano, Geargiano Mk-II, and a Geargiano Mk-III in my Graveyard and Special Summon them, do I have to use all 3 of them for the Xyz Summon?
A: If you activate Geargia Change by targeting 3 monsters, you must be able to perform an Xyz Summon using all 3 monsters. You cannot perform the Xyz Summon using only 2 out of the 3 Special Summoned monsters as Xyz Materials.

Q: Can the Xyz Summon performed by the effect of Geargia Change be negated by Solemn Judgment?
A: After Geargia Change finishes resolving, an Xyz Summon is performed using the Special Summoned monsters as Xyz Materials. As long as Geargia Change was activated as Chain Link 1, you can activate Solemn Judgment to negate the Xyz Summon performed after resolving it. If Geargia Change was activated as Chain Link 2, since the Xyz Summon is performed before the Chain Link 1 effect has resolved, you cannot activate Solemn Judgment to negate the Xyz Summon.

Q: If my opponent has Stygian Dirge face-up on their side of the field, can I activate Geargia Change?
A: Since the targeted “Geargiano” monsters are Level 3, as long as you are able to Xyz Summon a Rank 3 monster using the targeted monsters, you can still activate Geargia Change. In this scenario, since the Levels of the targeted monsters are reduced by 1 after being Special Summoned, you cannot Xyz Summon a Rank 3 monster, and you must instead Xyz Summon a Rank 2 monster if one exists in your Extra Deck. At this time, if you do not have a Rank 2 monster in your Extra Deck, the Xyz Summon is not performed.

Q: Can the Pendulum Effect of Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior be activated multiple times in 1 turn?
A: The Pendulum Effect of Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior can be activated more than once per turn, but you can only activate it once at the start of each Damage Step. If 2 of your opponent’s monsters attack one of your monsters, the Pendulum Effect of Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior can be activated at the start of the Damage Step once per battle.

Q: A monster whose ATK and DEF have been halved by the Pendulum Effect of Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior is face-up on my opponent’s side of the field. Then, if Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior is destroyed, such as by the effect of Mystical Space Typhoon, what happens to the ATK and DEF of the affected monster?
A: After the Pendulum Effect of Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior has been applied, even if Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior is destroyed by Mystical Space Typhoon, the ATK and DEF of the affected monster remain halved. (The ATK and DEF will not return to normal.)

Q: If the ATK and DEF of my opponent’s Berserk Gorilla (ATK 2000/DEF 1000) is halved by the Pendulum Effect of Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior, and then next turn that Berserk Gorilla battles my monster again, can I activate the effect of Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior once more?
A: The ATK and DEF halved by the effect of Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior remains that way as long as the affected monster is face-up on the field. In this scenario, after the effect of Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior has been applied to Berserk Gorilla the first time, its ATK and DEF will be 1000 and 500 respectively. In this state, if Berserk Gorilla battles your monsters once again, you can activate the effect of Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior again. (In that case, its ATK and DEF are further halved to 500 and 250 respectively.)

A: If a Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior on your side of the field is destroyed by your opponent’s attacking monster, its effect can be activated at the end of the Damage Step. It should be noted that even if a face-down Defense Position Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior is flipped by an attack and destroyed by battle, its effect can still be activated.

This effect will activate in the Extra Deck when Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior is destroyed by your opponent’s attack or card effect. Also, if Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior is destroyed and banished by your opponent’s Bottomless Trap Hole, the effect will activate while Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior is banished. Therefore, the effect cannot be negated by Skill Drain.

Q: During my End Phase, if my opponent activates Ring of Destruction and destroys a Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior on my side of the field, and I activate its effect, can I immediately apply the effect of adding a monster from my Deck to my hand when resolving this effect?
A: Even if Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior on your side of the field is destroyed by your opponent’s card during your End Phase, you cannot add a monster to your hand when the effect of Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior resolves. The effect of Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior creates a chain when it is destroyed by your opponent’s card, but the effect of adding a monster to your hand is not applied at this time. During the same End Phase of the turn this effect was activated, you can apply the effect of adding a monster to your hand. (The effect can be applied at any point during the End Phase, but it cannot be applied while resolving another card or effect, and you must apply it before adjusting your hand for the hand size limit.)
