[MW] Turning Up The Heat In This Weeks Market

Bolt SpiderBy Bolt SpiderJune 25, 20255 Comments

Would Anyone Else Like To Join The Reprint Waiting Room?

Many… things haven’t gotten a reprint, and many more things will get bought out…

To start off this article, I want to look at an important Dracoslayer monster that didn’t receive a reprint in Battles of Legend: Monster Mayhem, and that is Ignis Heat, the True Dracowarrior. Ignis Heat is used to place or add any True Draco or True King Continuous Spell from your Deck in response to your opponent activating a card or effect, but only if Ignis Heat was Tribute Summoned, exactly like how Dinomight Knight is able to add or place any True Draco or True King Continuous Trap. It’s strange that out of all the cards in the deck, both Ignis Heat and Majesty Maiden, the True Dracocaster didn’t receive a reprint with all the other True Draco cards that you’d run in the strategy.

With its last reprint from Fists of the Gadgets, it’ll be weird to see this card not receive one, as many lists today play anywhere from 2-3 copies.

Well… where do I even start with this? Outer Entity Nyarla has finally hit the buyout train, and it just feels like yesterday when this card was previously covered. Players are ready and excited to play Lunalights, as many have picked up their copy of this card for their deck. Since this was covered before a few weeks ago, here is a quick rundown of what it can do. You can target 1 card in your GY, detach all materials from Nyarla, and attach that target to it as new material. This allows the card to gain the type and attribute of that material, provided it’s a monster. This detach effect also can trigger the effects of Lunalight Kaleido Chick, Crimson Fox, Emerald Bird, Yellow Marten, and the new Lunalight Silver Hound. This is extremely useful to get an additional advantage by being able to add a Polymerization from your GY to your hand with Kaleido Chick’s effect, change the ATK of 1 monster your opponent controls to 0 with Crimson Fox’s effect, Special Summon a Lunalight that is banished or in your GY via Emerald Bird’s effect, add 1 Lunalight Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand with Yellow Marten’s effect, or Special Summon 1 Lunalight monster from your Deck thanks to Silver Hound.

It is great to see this card finally shining again after many years, but the real question is, when will the reprint appear, or will one ever appear?

With the hype from Duelist’s Advance coming into the game, Lunalight Black Sheep has been going crazy on the market to the point where, on both sites, TCGplayer and Cardmarket, listings became lower over time. Having been missed out in both Battles of Legend: Monster Mayhem and OTS Tournament Pack 28, many players have been suspecting a reprint in the extremely anticipated Justice Hunters set that is coming out on August 1st. The other main reason players are grabbing their copies is it is run at 3 copies in its own Deck, along with it being run at 3 in Dracotail as well, this is the main way to search for either Polymerization in both of these decks. While some play it in 2017 Fusion Sub Zoo for the Time Wizard format, it is run at a single copy since you can shuffle it back into the deck with Daigusto Emeral.

Despite only having 1 printing from Shining Victories from 8 years ago, this card has been needing a reprint for some time now, so hopefully soon, we will see one.

Heraldic Beast Leo is another one of these cards, like Lunalight Black Sheep, that is in desperate need of a reprint, as it dodged both Battles of Legend: Monster Mayhem and OTS Tournament Pack 28 once again for unknown reasons, especially if they reprinted many cards for the Heraldic Deck itself. This card has been seeing meta play in the Heraldic Beast engine with Ryzeal, as it allows you to add any Heraldic Beast monster from your deck to your hand when it is sent to the GY. This allows you to search for Heraldic Beast Stad Whale, which adds to your starting plays because on its Normal or Special Summon, you discard 1 card to add 2 copies of Advanced Heraldry Art. This becomes extremely useful as it helps you Xyz Summon into Ryzeal Duo Drive to bridge into your Ryzeal engine, and you can use it to go into any other Rank 4 that you need for different occasions.

Another card oddly diverting a reprint while related support is being released is weird on Konami’s part, but we might also have to wait for Justice Hunters to release to see if it will be in the set.

The angels are displeased that Chaos Angel still hasn’t received a reprint since the 2024 Mega Tins, and the price is showing. This all-powerful boss monster is amazing at banishing any card on its special summon by using any LIGHT or DARK monster and can treat any LIGHT or DARK monster as a Tuner. In addition, it gains extra effects based on whether you used LIGHT monsters, DARK monsters, or both. If you use a LIGHT monster, it makes Synchro Monsters you control unaffected by your opponent’s activated monster effects. If you use a DARK monster, all monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle. This card has seen play in many Decks, from Bystial Primite Fiendsmith to even Labrynth as the former runs both Attributes, while the latter is full of DARK monsters, but can also Link it away to summon a copy of Muckraker From the Underworld to Special Summon it back so you can banish a second card. Being a diverse tool for Decks that utilize either attribute is great as a tough boss monster for the opponent.

It’s still a massive quandary why this card hasn’t seen another reprint since the 2024 Mega Tins, as many players hoped it would’ve been in a Rarity Collection of sorts.

Now, it is time to talk about both Rock of the Vanquisher and Stake Your Soul! as their prices are going crazy. We’ve talked about Rock of the Vanquisher before, as it is the main Link-1 for the Deck that allows you, as a Quick Effect, to either Special Summon 1 Vanquish Soul monster from your hand or add a Vanquish Soul monster from your GY to your hand. This is more impactful and important with the new support wave coming in Duelist’s Advance, especially with Vanquish Soul Hollie Sue being the driving force of the revitalized Deck.

Now… let’s look at Stake Your Soul! Last time I talked about Vanquish Soul itself, I left this card out somehow, as it is the most important Spell Card that you want to run 3 copies of. The reason is that it reveals any monster in your hand as a cost in order to Special Summon a Vanquish Soul monster with that revealed Attribute but a different name from your Deck, but it is returned to the hand during the End Phase. This is great, as it can Special Summon Vanquish Soul Razen from your Deck to gain additional value with his ability to add a non-Warrior Vanquish Soul monster from your Deck to your hand.

With a majority of Vanquish Soul cards spiking once again, it shows how passionate and ready players are for this new upcoming meta shifter post Justice Hunters.

Next on the list of cards we have is Black Brutdrago. This card from Stardust Overdrive has been missing a reprint time and time again as a key player for Gemini Decks like Gigavise, which utilizes a single copy of it, while others run it in multiples. This card alone can help the Gemini strategy in a way, as you can send 1 Gemini monster from your hand to the GY to destroy 1 Spell/Trap card your opponent controls. Then, if this card is destroyed and sent to the GY, you can Special Summon 1 Gemini monster from your GY, and it becomes treated as an Effect Monster and gains their effects. This is especially great when paired with cards like Gigaplant, as it can Special Summon any Insect or Plant monster from your GY to allow you to get additional Plants on the field for the target negation effect of Tytannial, Princess of Camellias, or to help go into high-level Synchro Monsters with Copy Plant or Nettles.

Being a card that many would love to see a fresh reprint of, Black Brutdrago is still locked away in the lost territory of reprints, awaiting its day for a new breath of light.

Queen Dragun Djinn is another Dragon card that hasn’t seen a reprint since its release in Galactic Overlord. This card is a really interesting one, as it only has 1 print as a Super Rare, and… It is hard to find information on what Decks ran the card, as all that really was there were things like, “This card spiked up around 10 years ago because Dragon Ravine went back to 2 for a Dragunity Deck that could utilize it” to “Hieratics ran this card because it can Special Summon any of their monsters from the GY to the field.” Some opted to use Decks like Traptrix Rulers in 2014 to utilize this card, as you can use Traptrix Dionaea and Myrmeleo to Xyz Summon Queen Dragun Djinn in order to revive any Level 5 or higher Dragon monster from your GY. This can allow you to Xyz Summon into a Rank 7 with a Dragon Ruler if you choose to revive another Dragon Ruler.

It is insane that this card hasn’t seen a reprint, as it is surely a fan-favorite card just sitting and waiting for its own reprint.

Finally, to end this article, let’s take a look at how impactful Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion could be in the Justice Hunters format. By discarding this card, you can stop cards in the GY from being added to the hand/Deck/Extra Deck, as well as stop any Monster Cards from being Special Summoned from the GY. Belle can even stop any card in the GY from being banished by a card effect. This could be really powerful against Decks like Vanquish Soul K9, as it could stop a card like K9 – #ØØ Lupus (YGOrganization Translation) from Special Summoning itself from the GY, as it will be sent off the effect of K9 – #17 Izuna (YGOrganization Translation). This can stop them from accessing some of their Xyz monsters that can interrupt your plays. Along with this, it can stop cards like Rock of the Vanquisher from returning a VS monster to the hand from the GY. Other cards it can stop include the Mitsurugi Ritual Monsters and even Orcust Cymbal Skeleton.

With various printings from the original Flames of Destruction to even the 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection, Ghost Belle might be an impactful hand trap for the future of the game.

Within the next few weeks, we will start seeing what players are going to bring to the San Jose, Costa Rica WCQ to see how much the format will change with hopefully the release of Duelist’s Advance.
