Note: This card appears to be named after famous Sumo Wrestler, Hiroo Masurao, a lighter wrestler in the top division, and was a favorite of the audience. He favored Grappling and Throwing over the more standard Pushing Techniques.

(2) Once per turn, during the Battle Phase, if you control this Synchro Summoned card (Quick Effect): You can Special Summon 1 “Superheavy Samurai” Monster Card from your GY or face-up Spell & Trap Zone, then place this card in your Pendulum Zone.

Note: This card seems to be named after famous Pro Westler Sugi Taskuya, who during his run in Michinoku Pro Wrestling, developed the on-stage persona of Shanao, a Buddhist monk inspired by Yoshitune, the swordsman who defeated Benkei. Later Mr. Sugi would change his persona from Shanao to flat out Yoshitune.

Ark’s Personal Note: Just as an observation, the connection to Sumo and Pro Wrestling, I think is to tie Gongenzaka’s Heavystrong/Steadfest Style to Sumo Wrestling, where (excessive) innovation tends to be viewed as heresy, as it’s a very codified sport, where as Wrestling is all about more fluid innovation.
