A small project that showcases the differences between the current Forbidden & Limited list, enacted after April 11, 2016, and the separate lists for each YGO era in the General Duel Tournament (GDT).
Two days ago (as of this article’s publication), Konami revealed a new alternate tournament format called Generation Duel Tournament, where each of its participants chooses an era (Duel Monsters, GX, 5D’s, ZEXAL, or ARC-V) and constructs a Deck dedicated to that era, with the first four eras having unique Forbidden & Limited Lists applied to them.
However, it can be a little difficult envisioning the possibilities of constructing a Deck for a particular era. To help with this, we’ve published a Google Docs spreadsheet that highlights the differences between the current Forbidden & Limited List (F/L List), which was enacted after April 11, 2016, and a given F/L List for the Duel Monsters, GX, 5D’s, or ZEXAL era (each of them separately).
Click here to see the YGOrg project. (EDIT: Since the lists were updated sometime in August 2016, here’s another comparison. However, this new document compares the changes between the initial GDT lists and these new GDT lists, as opposed to comparing them to the F/L list for Advanced Format).
This project is only intended to point out the differences between the lists. Because of this, cards like “Exodia the Forbidden One” and “Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning” will not be shown in these spreadsheets, as they are both Limited on the mainstream F/L List and each of the eras’ F/L Lists. Since they maintained the same status, there’s no point in pointing them out.
Hope you enjoy!
