They really don’t want us to have an out to Hand Traps, huh.
Hopefully they’ll get someone on board who can talk some sense into them.
Dude, we’re getting a whole archetype dedicated to attacking hand traps
Dropping an Izuna doesn’t change that you’ve still been Ash’d. And Imperm still exists.
Well getting rid of soft tfks is apparently not an option so the band aid will remain waterproof. Both players depleting their opening hands to determine who has the right to otk who seems like a waste of time but that’s just me.
Good! That is pretty much the only interaction the going second player has to a bunch of modern decks full of one card combo started that end on an unbreakable board.
yes and that is a good thing. if hand traps did not exist every deckwould be a coin flip ftk bonanza since 2013. less outs to hand traps means people have to make more halfboards which result more simplified game states. we had ruler ftks way back in the day as well with super reju and other ridiculous stuff. back and forth simplified gamestates are where yugioh as a game shines the most. (as long as the person playing into hand traps knows how to make halfboards and the person playing hand traps knows how to use them)
Next list, Deadnamer dies. Also, I think they forgot the Elec unlimit, and more importantly a Fiendsmith hit
They didn’t forget Electrumite. Only autistic scrubs think that card should be unbanned.
the explain why it should stay banned
Don’t have too, the default position is that it stays banned.
Holy sht hahaha, George Floyd out here being the autistic fking failure. It doesn’t even understand logical thought, this is the kind of “person” defending TCG lists
Right
Translation: George Floyd is too intoxicated to defend his position
Take a chill pill, fellas
Oi, don’t hit fiendmith
Bahamut shark :O i have to change my nekroz deck
Maliss White Rabbit was also semi-limited, please correct this, before people get confused
Effective when?
April 7th, so immediately
yay! Mathmech Circular is back
Game is trash even more so now. Can’t wait to see half decks of Hand Traps with a small engine of the archtype. Useless trash company
Facts
As a yugioh seller this banlist is worthless except lowering my collection even more. Real talk I don’t understand how people play this competitively in locals or in a YCS because half of banlist choices are just for monetary gains.
Seriously not even having meow meow, electrumite or master plan off the list is sad.
Big facts
Konami is a company, the whole point of a company is to make money. Why are people so upset about this? This is a good list. Just because some changes you wanted didn’t happen doesn’t make it bad. Just because the company is pushing product doesn’t make it bad.
“Investoooors” don’t deserve to exist. Go back fighting over Pokemon cards in Walmart’s parking lot, Yu-Gi-Oh! is fine without people like you.
A beautiful list. I knew Shark would be the outlier at some point, though I’ll miss it. Master Peace has been banned for too long.
Brilliant Fusion is another one I wanted back.
where fiendsmith hits?
unbans could have been more numerous too, why would you fear electrumite or broadbull? it’s 2025, look at what we’re playing, be for real
“Someone could abuse masterplan, meow meow and electrumite”
Meanwhile OCG has it at 1 or 3 and nobody notices:
also the tachyon FTK is still fully legal for some reason???
That’s an easy one; we just had Maze of the Master release. It’s too early to hit stuff based around it. Business-wise, next list is better. Lists are often made a bit in advance too, so it won’t hit the extremely recent(within a month generally) stuff that comes up. And the list is actually only about 3 weeks since MZTM released, so…
The real question is what they will hit, since now they can see if we use different setups/decks due to different cardpools and banlist stuff. I doubt it would change much, though, but it’s quite well known that the playerbase is crazy at finding stuff. XD
This list favours hand traps so at least let everyone have one more option available when their deck’s main strat gets ash’d
Why hit Fiendsmith when Fabled is coming?
Current year combo brainrot is better than not current year is a pointless begging of the question because most people who work under the premise that a deck’s immediately measurement is against whatever nonsense is running amok these days is already inclined to say yes to the old thing. Pendulum has been lame since 2021 and the discourse was already tedious back then. Even back then it was like talking to a tv, it cannot hear you and cannot respond.
Why did they ban Bahamut?
Without Abyss Dweller and with shifter at 1, Atlantean Mermail (already the 3rd or 4th best deck) becomes arguably the best deck in the room, primarily due to the ease of making double toad with bahamut shark. Either Bahamut or Toad had to be banned, and they must’ve thought more people want to play Toad.
To hit mermail, but it’s also being used as an engine is Ryzeal with Big Jaws and Drake Shark to make Toad before your Ryzeal combo
It let to many decks make toad for free and it never really used outside of making free toads so banning it over toad let deck that can make toad normally that are not really meta still play the card also let them make a Water rank 3 or lower down the line without having to worry about Bahamut Shark cheating it out
Glad shifter is at 1
Decent list except for no fiendsmith hit but that’s the selling point of the new RA04.
Bystials for not in next Battles of Legends ’cause why would they?
Thrust should’ve been limited to empower hand traps.
Hmmmm, that is an interesting thought, and wouldn’t really hurt, but I would say that Thrust isn’t able to punish handtraps nearly as hard as talents (in game 1, from 2 onwards it is better, but by then you should also be thinking about that).
the king has returned…
Damn bruh I kinda needed that bahamut shark for my ice barrier deck
So apparently, Bahamut Shark is finally enough of a problem that it ended up getting banned, and Crossout Designator is finally enough of a problem to get limited. Ngl, it was only a matter of when for both of them getting hit.
>Glow-Up Bulb still dead
wake me up next time.
“Bahamut Shark”
Hello based department? More so related to the headache of the reaction to 4 stars and WATER being funneled into one thing and one thing only. Got excited that KnightPUN phoenix for a sec. I don’t remember what decoder does but I assume it was the thing that synergized with Decode Talker that was used for everything except Decode Talker.
Yeah, basically a free material in a link-1 monster. You know, typical link-1 shenanigans.
Dog water list
Master Peace is back?
Good overall list. I do wish they just killed Fiendsmith, but other than that, I don’t have many complaints. Without TTT and Crossout being all over the place, it doesn’t hurt interacting going second. All those cards did was boost going first even more.
Lol
This is awful, but brilliant fusion at 1 is nice.
Link decoder did NOTHING WRONG. Wth is this? Stop hurting Yusaku.
Instead of banning the stupid toad they ban Bahamut Shark, an innocent rank 4 water who’s the victim of a broken stupidly designed xyz. Master duel banlist wins in this regard.
Master Peace comes back so yay more misery….
Knightmare Gryphon? Idk why he gets the axe but um ok.
Link decoder enabled maliss to do some crazy stuff and end on gryphon, thats why those two are out. True kings arent going to be crazy enough to be a problem any more. And it hurts that bahamut got hit but I kinda understand with mermails being able to make two toad and ryzeal abusing him in some lists.
The amount of people complaining about handtraps being decent and crossout being hit is insane. Most of the top decks already didnt play a ton of crossout, most lower end decks playing it still lost to a second handtrap, most people are gonna get the same experiences they had. Everything else on the list is insanely good(sans bahamut dying for toads existence, like 3rd or 4th card hit because toad isnt banned).
Hmmmm, I would concur with the bahamut complain, whilst it is true that toad is broken af, and does deserve the ban. Bahamut wasn’t behind it by much, as it existing also suffocates the designing of all rank 3 and lower water xyzs, and this is without pointing out that water has already some pretty good substitutes for bahamut, if we talk about rank 4s.
Ryzeal and malice currently unhit, those are slaps on the wrist. Fiendsmith untouched in any way. Sharks are dead, mermail is now just an ftk deck because its boards are weaker. Konami is pushing handtraps even more and trying to get people to buy back into snake eyes as advantage engine
Ryzeal and Malice got directly hit with semis on most main decks and their boss monsters got either limited or straight up banned. What are you on?
They also havent reprinted fiendsmith stuff yet so they arent going to ban them at all (though I wish they would hit the closed world and make fiendsmith not so generic).
Still waiting for Superheavy Samurai Scarecrow to be unbanned Konami.
Also, why Abyss Dweller? people only ever play it at one, and in water decks it is the only coping against GY effects
The only good thing about this list is that the resellers hate it.
I think Konami should adopt what Bandai does with digimon and have Banned Pairs, Like if you have any cards with “Ryzeal” In its name you cant play Bahamut Shark.
I think it would help the game in the long run and make rouge decks more viable.
It would also make rules super confusing for players. The rules are already difficult to get into, especially with the dread “missing timing”.
It’s just better to avoid deck-building rules like that. It’s not like a video game where there’s specific deck costs, etc. Nor is it like the Legend stuff in Rush Duels(or like Skills in Duel Links/Speed Duels). Or some kind of roleplay where that’s a legitimate story-telling mechanic. It serves no purpose in a general card game in real life.
Also keep in mind that Digimon is far newer and can risk new rules. Yu-Gi-Oh has been around for over 20 years. Adding that suddenly is going to make people crazy. Let’s just say people talked about it for Dragon Rulers(only one Adult Ruler, though multiples of the same one are fine, per deck) before. Or really any deck with a combo that shouldn’t be allowed. They never went anywhere with a rule like that. It’s neat for casual games, at least.
rip TTT wtf
Dammit first called by the grave now crossout desaignator….. Hand traps are already OP wihout that nerf now is imposible counters it.
Holy, there are so many people in this comment section that don’t play the game. If you really think crossout is a healthy card, sit across the best deck (Ryzeal arguably) and see how you like it, when you get your only handtrap negated while they made dweller, ryzeal cross and deadnator with eclipsetwin. If more handtraps are getting played and there are less answers, people play more engine, not less. But that’s too hard to grasp for people who either don’t play the game or play only like MD (it’s not a real format lmao).
