The Tournament continues with 4 more contenders!
What is Clash of the TCG WPs?
‘CLASH’ is a new format for my videos, in which I feature a Simulated Tournament: 16 decks enter, best-of-3 matches, with siding. If a strategy loses their match, it is eliminated; win, and it moves on to fight another winner. If you’ve been a long-time reader of the site, this format is a spiritual successor to my previous Creative Deck Strategy Showdown videos, just modernized with a new look-and-feel.
For this Clash, I narrowed it down 16 most-likely-to-be-successful TCG WP archetypes, aka Clash of the TCG WPs. As far as deckbuilding goes, there were no restrictions on only using archetypal cards; however, I tried to stick to a common rule that the primary win condition must aim to utilize the in-theme cards. All decklists are available on Spellbook.life, and direct links will be provided at the end of the article.

Predictions:
A new format and style comes with another new addition – Predictions. To set the stage, I asked some of our YGOrg site contributors to provide their thoughts on who would win each bracket, and I’ve included their predictions below – if you’d like to join in, feel free to add a comment below and it might get added to a future Group post.
- Dan, Site Owner
- The Burning Abyss deck has some cool ideas I never considered, the Prohibitions in the side deck seem OP in a tournament with fixed decklists. On the other hand, Mimighoul Sphinx is basically full power Mimighoul which will be advantageous.
- NeoArkadia, Primary News Contributor
- Block B feels the most eclectic mixture, and I think it’l pan out one way or the other, but I’ll give it to Burning Abyss Millennium Gem-Knight because I really like “Luce the Dusk’s Dark”
- Bolt Spider, Author of our Market Watch articles
- Harder to tell than Group A, but I’ll pick Gate Guardian/White Forest, since White Forest has power plays of its own.
- Quincymccoy, Resident Deckbuilder and CDP author
- My vote was for Mimighoul; as one of the few decks in the field specifically built to go 2nd, it won’t suffer as much from not having the chance to elect to go 1st if it loses RPS, and it has so many inherent board breakers.
- UltimateKuriboh, Localization Team
- My money is on Mimighoul, Mimighoul seems pretty good no matter whose turn it is, or if going 1st or 2nd.

that mimighoul list is an utter heresy
huh… so the next deck showcase is Memento… Even now, I still wonder what other archetypes besides Unchained work well with Memento
