Meet the Fusion of Zombies and Spellcasters.

Strategic Summary:
Let’s close out this month with another hybrid CDP on two very different themes, as we end January with a Shaddoll/Wight strategy! For the first half of the deck, let’s talk about the Shaddolls, the Fusion theme primarily consisting of DARK Spellcasters. This archetype revolves around Fusion Summoning using either Shaddoll Fusion – which can use materials from the deck if your opponent has a monster summoned from the Extra Deck, El Shaddoll Fusion – which is just a Quick-Play Fusion Spell for the theme, or Shaddoll Schism – a Continuous Trap that can Fusion Summon using material from the GY during either Main Phase. With an El Shaddoll Fusion Monster of each Attribute, you have plenty of opportunities to combine the Shaddoll theme with other archetypes, especially if you want to send something from the Deck to the GY with Fusion, and the Wights are no exception.
The Wight or Skull Servant archetype consists of many little Zombie monsters that are all treated as Skull Servant in the GY. For each Skull Servant in your GY, King of the Skull Servants will gain 1,000 ATK and quickly become a major threat, even though it is only Level 1. The best way to get Wights to the GY quickly is through Wightprincess, which sends Wightprince from your Deck to the GY, which in turn sends The Lady in Wight and Skull Servant from your Deck to the GY, netting you 4 Servants for the price of one. But where this deck now can truly go off the rails is with the addition of the newest Wight from LEDE – Wightsworn (YGOrg Translation). This LIGHT Wight monster can be sent from the hand or field to the GY to send cards from the top of your Deck to the GY, up to the number of Skull Servant and King of the Skull Servants in your GY. With the Princess combo, that’s at least 4 mills, and if you are using Sworn later in the duel, that can mill a ton of cards. Wightsworn can also banish itself from the GY to recover a King of the Skull Servants, letting you extend through some of your opponent’s disruptions, and truly go for a Wight-victory!
Now there’s another benefit here to all that mass-milling of Wightsworn: triggering Shaddoll and Tearlaments effects. You see, the Shaddoll monsters each carry an effect that triggers when sent to the GY, whether it is Shaddoll Falco Special Summoning itself or Reshaddoll Wendi Special Summoning another Shaddoll monster from your Deck in facedown Defense. This mass milling combined with Shaddoll effects also pairs quite nicely with Wightbaking, as it can tutor 2 cards that mention Skull Servant before discarding a card, yet another great way to trigger Shaddoll effects. As a final touch, I personally love using The Chaos Creator in here, as this build naturally includes both LIGHT and DARK monsters, plus it can be a great way to recycle your banished Wights to send yet again with a new copy of Wightprince. Hope you have your puppetry skills ready, as the Wights are ready to put on a show!
