Creative Deck Profile: Proof of Sky Scourge from the Burning Abyss, ft. Proof of Pruflas

Ravaged by the Sky Scourge, only mischievous demons remain in the Burning Abyss…

Replays:

Strategic Summary:

One order of hell right up with today’s profile, headlined by the Sky Scourge. The Sky Scourge is a loosely connected theme introduced into the game long ago, bridging LIGHT Fairies and DARK Fiends with some powerful support cards. That said, they are best known for their boss monster, Sky Scourge Norleras, which sends all cards on the field and in the hands to the GY at the paltry cost of 1000 LP… then you draw a single card. This may seem like a play to level the battlefield, but if you combine it with the right support, you can easily come out on top in advantage extremely quickly. Enter the Burning Abyss monsters, which trigger whenever they’re sent to the GY. Send Cir, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss to summon back a lost Burning Abyss monster or Graff, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss to summon a fresh demon from your deck. On the other hand, Cherubini, Ebon Angel of the Burning Abyss adds much needed consistency to any Burning Abyss deck.

But where this profile begins to take a turn is with the introduction of the newest Scourge, Sky Scourge Cidhels, recently released into the TCG. This EARTH Fairy offers an ability to search or prepare your GY, depending on if you tributed a LIGHT/Fairy or DARK/Fiend. Either can be helpful in setting up your Norleras bomb. To assist in providing the tribute material for Cidhels, you can easily rely upon any of your Burning Abyss monsters, which Summon themselves from the hand, or the new TCG Premiere, Proof of Pruflas, a Level 3 DARK/Fiend that can immediately trigger an additional Tribute Summon whenever it is summoned. As an additional tech in today’s build, check out Puppet Master as well, as it can trigger Pruflas yet again for a chain of free Tribute Summons! But this wouldn’t be a true Norleras deck without calling out the alternative hero, Phantom of Chaos, which can copy its effect instead! Take the Tour to the Sky Scourge with this hellish amalgamation.

Note: This is continuing the style of Creative Deck Profile articles, designed to showcase a build through replays and an attached summary. If you wish to see a CDP for an archetype, theme, or strategy you love, feel free to private message me on the YGOrg Discord server, the comments section of any of my YouTube videos, or just post a comment in response to this article on our Facebook page with your ideas to keep under consideration! On most YGO-related communities my username is Quincymccoy, so feel free to reach out. Current pending requested profiles include: Poker Knight, Triamid, Shaddoll, Dragunity, Ghostrick. Some of my prior requests was covered by participants in CDSS5, and some others were covered by CDSS6, so I highly suggest checking those out and subscribing for all of my latest profiles on YouTube!

If you are wondering why there was such a long gap between my profiles, I am currently slowing down my profiles for the summer due to extraordinary life circumstances. But I will aim to at least publish one per week, so hopefully I can still peak your interests with a few creative decks here and there! Thanks for your understanding.
