CDP: Ragnaraika Traptrix Trap Hole, ft. ROTA Support

    QuincymccoyBy QuincymccoyAugust 19, 20242 Comments

    Tantalizing Traps of the Ragnaraika!

    Replays:

    Strategic Summary:

Today’s Creative Deck Profile brings back the Ragnaraika theme for a showcase of Reptiles, Insects, and Plants! This archetype combines these Types into one cohesive Link Summoning strategy that reduces, reuses, and recycles its cards. How you ask? Well, whenever any of their Link Monsters are in the GY, such as Ragnaraika Skeletal Soldier, they can shuffle an Insect/Reptile/Plant from your field back into the Deck to Special Summon itself. Last time, I covered this archetype in a more Plant-focused approach ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MpPPlclVlg ), then I covered this with Insects ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSOkX4oHDr8 ) and now, I’m going to do both!

Let’s start by covering the Raika cards. First up is Ragnaraika the Evil Seed, a Level 1 Plant that tutors 2 Ragnaraika cards on summon, before making you banish a card from the hand. This goes hand-in-hand with the theme’s Continuous Spell, Ragnaraika Bloom, which lets you Special Summon a Ragnaraika from your GY or banishment each turn. Second is Ragnaraika Samurai Beetle, which lets you Special Summon any Insect/Reptile/Plant from your GY when used as Link Material for a Ragnaraika summon. The last one is Ragnaraika Wicked Butterfly, a Level 4 Insect that when banished, applies a lingering effect to let you draw a card for each Insect/Plant/Reptile Link you control with a different Type during the End Phase. In most turns, that will be 2 free draws to fuel your future turns. All of these cards a great, but ultimately, they just serve as a solid fallback core to support your Traptrix gameplan.

Speaking of the Traptrix, this archetype is a group of EARTH Insect and Plant monsters that interact extremely well with Normal Trap Cards, specifically Trap Holes. The key card here is Traptrix Sera, a LINK-1 that Special Summons a Traptrix from the Deck when a Normal Trap is activated and that sets a ‘Hole’ Normal Trap when another Traptrix effect is activated. Between Traptrix Myrmeleo and Traptrix Mantis offering consistency and the Extra Normal Summon offered by Traptrip Garden, you can quickly get multiple monsters to the board to unleash your Ragnaraika Links, your other Traptrix Links, or even your Traptrix Xyz Monsters! Don’t count out the Trap Holes though, as your opponent will quickly be forced to navigate a minefield of Traps between Floodgate Trap Hole, Network Trap Hole, Banishing Trap Hole, and more. You can even leverage the Ragnaraika Traps, such as Ragnaraika Hunting Dance and Ragnaraika Bleached Wisteria (YGOrg Translation), since both can be tutored by Ragnaraika Mantis Monk, their LINK-3. Embrace the terrors of the entire garden, with the combination of Ragnaraika and Traptrix monsters!

Try mimighoul allure queen. Using summoning curse and the swords of concealing light (the one that locks battle positions) it would interesting gifting your opp soo many monsters. Especially as the new blue eyes link is a floodgate when paired with geonator. And accessible via allure queen lv3 and mimighiul dragon.

      Also new mimighoul charm.

The allure queen stuff can get ez access to jowgen too. But ig the field spells for the archetypes may conflict tho.
