Strategic Summary:
Welcome to a Casual Deck Profile, designed to allow for the utilization of Magicians of Bonds and Unity and Dragon of Pride and Soul. These monsters are unique in that they want 25 cards to be in each GY. For example, Bonds and Unity wants 25 cards in your GY to Special Summon itself from the hand, and if your opponent has 25 cards in their’s, it gains 2500 ATK/DEF. These conditions are just flipped for Pride and Soul. They also have a 2500/2500 statline, working well with other celebration cards like Chronicle Magician. They also are receiving a new boss monster in Ultimate Dragon of Pride and Soul (YGOrg Translation), a Level 12 Fusion of 3 monsters with 2500/2500 that gains 4500 ATK/DEF when you have 25 or more cards in GY, plus it can destroy all cards the opponent controls if they have 25 or more cards in GY. In short, I set out to build a deck that could fill both GYs, and then eventually Fusion Summon the Ultimate Dragon, and so I turned to the Dogmatika and Blue-Eyes archetypes!
Let’s start with the Dogmatika, this LIGHT Spellcaster theme eventually received a few Ritual Monsters, that all have the interesting mechanic to send cards from the Extra Decks to the GY. For example, Dogmatika Alba Zoa can send up to 7 cards at a time, and once you combine that with Dogmatika Maximus or Dogmatikamatrix, you can quickly build to that 25-card requirement. On the other hand, the new Blue-Eyes support cards from their dedicated Structure Deck give the deck a bit more combo potential, with Maiden of White (YGOrg Translation) leading to True Light, your own Synchro Summons, and ultimately filling your GY with more cards. Is it the most solid of pairings? Probably not, but you can’t deny that it works! Anywho, once you’ve filled the GYs with the various effects, this build can leverage Dragon’s Mirror, Polymerization, or even Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous to Fusion Summon your Ultimate Dragon. It’s actually extremely easy here, because you have a ton of cards with a 2500/2500 statline, since Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Knighted, Despian Luluwalilith, Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon, Galactic Spiral Dragon, and Granguignol the Dusk Dragon all have that!
