CDP: Mimighoul FLIP Jar and Tindangle

Flip off your opponent, in a fun way!

    Replays:

    Strategic Summary:

Today’s CDP ends the month with a fun Casual Mimighoul build, aiming to make the most of their FLIP support by adding FLIP Rock Jars to their disruption toolkit. I’ve covered the Mimighoul theme extensively on my channel before including my IRL deckbuild, so be sure to check that out here if you want to learn more about why I love the deck: https://youtu.be/ykuqIhXV1gc

Now that you’re back, let’s talk about the core combo in play today. The core combo is to use Mimighoul Maker to add any two FLIP monsters, give one to the opponent and Special Summon a Mimighoul Archfiend from your hand to flip the monster you give your opponent. In today’s build, the optimal things you would want to flip are Cyber Jar, Morphing Jar #2, and Morphing Jar. The first gives you a chance to destroy the board and establish great field and hand presence, the second lets you wipe the board of Extra Deck monsters, and the third lets you wipe the hands and draw a new hand of 5 cards. If the goal is to grab the right tool for the situation, then you need consistent access to Mimighoul Maker, and that is brought to you by Mimighoul Dragon and Mimighoul Dungeon, two great avenues to get to what you need. Even if this FLIP Jar strategy doesn’t work out in your favor, you will still have great control options – you see, Mimighoul Dungeon locks down attacks and Normal Summons if your opponent has a set monster on the field, and my build also has a ton of tricks to get face-down monsters there! For example, Reverse Reuse sets two FLIP monsters face-down on the opponent’s field, or there’s Terrors of the Overroot to set one. On the Spell front, I’ve included both Book of Eclipse and Sol and Luna, both of which also let you control the state of FLIP monsters on the field.

As for the last component in today’s deck, we also have a very small Tindangle engine. This was just a fun addition, you definitely don’t need to use it, but I love that Tindangle Intruder can Special Summon itself whenever a monster is Special Summoned in face-down Defense to your board. This works with Cyber Jar, Morphing Jar #2, and Tindangle Jhrelth, but it also works with your key Extra Deck consistency booster, Subterror Behemoth Fiendess. That’s right, she makes an appearance here as well, for science! Embrace the casual fun of Flipping back and forth with this fun take on the Mimighoul theme!

        That’s the funny build

Yeh Summoning curse is busted in mimighoul, especially when U also have mimighoul archfiend.

      • Quincymccoy on April 3, 2025 9:08 pm

Yup, I use Curse in my main IRL build that I’ve featured before. But wanted to do something different with this showcase 🙂 Definitely fun if you wanna give them hell.

Its always interesting to see how you play and build Mimighoul decks. When I look at the archetype, all I see is monsters that don’t play well with other flip monsters, as you don’t want them face-down on your own side of the field, not until they come out with a continuous spell/trap card that fixes that.

Something like: “If a Mimighoul monster is flip summoned, or flipped face-up on your side of the field, treat its effect as if it was flip summoned or flipped face-up on your opponent’s field”

Otherwise, my goal for the archetype is to have ways of getting rid of them the moment they can become a liability to your field. So traps like “Wonder Xyz” and “World Legacy Awakens” are going to be your friend (either main deck or side deck)

I actually won my locals with this. If 2 of 3 judges didn’t have a sense of humor, I would have gotten kicked out. Didn’t play Tindangle but added a few other flippers.

Mimighoul is actually a pretty solid archetype – but always great to see undervalued decks performing at the locals level. That’s where a ton of themes can really shine, anyways!
