Today’s CDP features a return to my beloved Mayakashi theme – if you missed the last time I covered this Zombie archetype, be sure to check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztGCRS608ds . Wow that was way too long ago for a deck I actually have and love IRL…

Anyways, let’s get down to the nitty gritty of what’s changed – this deck finally doesn’t die to one handtrap on Hajun, the Winged Mayakashi anymore. And this is really because of a new TCG World Premiere card from Supreme Darkness: Vulcarrion the Rotting Phoenix. Not only can this Level 4 Zombie Tuner Special Summon itself from the hand, but it also can return itself to hand to Special another Zombie. This might not seem like much if you haven’t played Mayakashi before, but this is a game changer for the deck. The other modernization that I’ve included for today’s variant is the incorporation of Thats 10!, a Continuous Spell that supports Continuous Traps that Special Summon themselves. While of course this works great with the Argostar support cards, it also works with things like Angel Statue – Azurune, Statue of Anguish Pattern, and Apophis the Swap Deity. In other words – the Mayakashi deck can leverage all of these Continuous Traps to have even more interactions with the opponent during their turn. Instead of just having Ghost Meets Girl – A Masterful Mayakashi Shiranui Saga, you now have plenty of other tools at your disposal to make it worth it. And if you’re wondering how to trigger those 10 effects, look no further than Dakki, the Graceful Mayakashi – its effect adds up quite quick once you see it in action. Embrace the joys of Zombie Synchro Summoning, with the help of the Mayakashi!
