The Watch for new DT Support is never over.

Strategic Summary:
Welcome to another off-cycle Creative Deck Profile on newly revealed cards, this time centered on the new wave of Ice Barrier support coming soon in the Terminal World set! If you missed our coverage of this new support wave, be sure to check that out here: https://ygorganization.com/mementomori/
Now, let’s talk about what’s new, and we’re starting with the first boss monster to truly support the Ice Barrier gameplan – Lancea, Dragonic Ancestor of the Ice Spirit Mountain (YGOrg Translation). This Level 10 Synchro Monster may not be an Ice Barrier in name, but up to twice per turn, when your opponent Special Summons a monster, Lancea Special Summons an Ice Barrier monster from your hand, Deck, GY, or Extra Deck. This helps you assemble the correct disruptive Ice Barrier effect based on your opponent, as well as build even more card advantage. Speaking of new Ice Barrier monsters, let’s turn to the theme’s new Level 6 Tuner next! Georgius, Swordman of the Ice Barrier (YGOrg Translation) enters the fray by being Special Summoned from the hand whenever you control an Ice Barrier monster, and when you do, it can Special Summon a Level 5 or lower Ice Barrier monster from your hand or GY. Also, while you control another Ice Barrier, Georgius locks down the effects of all monsters in your opponent’s GY! With how important the GY is nowadays, I don’t think I need to expand on how that can have an impact. The next Tuner and final new monster is Mirror Magic Master of the Ice Barrier (YGOrg Translation), which is the ultimate tool for accessing WATER Synchro Monsters! It can tribute 1 other Effect Monster you control to summon up to 3 Ice Barrier Tokens, increasing its level by 1 for each. It also has a nifty effect when sent to the GY to tutor any Ice Barrier card (or recover one that is banished)! In a pinch, you can even use Swap Frog to tutor an Ice Barrier card. Since Mirror Magic Master can tribute ANY Effect Monster, it just happens to be a great way to get that Hugin the Runick Wings out of the Extra Monster Zone to summon another Runick Fusion later in the turn, so let’s transition to that archetype next!
The Runick archetype consists of Quick-Play Spell cards that aim to be activated from the hand during the opponent’s turn via the effect of Runick Fountain. While the theme is designed to offer an alt-win condition by banishing your opponent’s deck, in this build, these are simply additional tools to protect your disruptive Ice Barrier board. Whether it is Runick Freezing Curses or Runick Flashing Fire to disrupt the opponent’s monsters or Runick Slumber to protect your monsters, you have it all, especially with up to three bonus draws from Fountain each turn. The Runick really don’t need to do more than that, as this new Ice Barrier support lets the archetype carry duels on its own, for maybe the first time in the history of the Ice Barrier theme! Other WATER Synchros help of course, such as Icejade Gymir Aegirine or Adamancipator Risen – Dragite, but Ice Barriers will do most of the hefty lifting, especially if you throw in Frozen Domains Leading to the Ice Barrier (YGOrg Translation), a Continuous Trap that can spin cards on the field back into the Deck. Speaking of heavy lifting, there is one Ice Barrier monster that’s now able to enter the spotlight with the help of the new Lancea – General Raiho of the Ice Barrier is finally playable! Serving as a soft floodgate that makes your opponent discard to resolve a monster effect on the field, this forces the opponent to make tough gameplay choices or risk running out of resources before they run out of a hand! Closing us out with a few words on the Icejade portion of this deck, Icejade Ran Aegirine is just another easy way to Level 10 WATER Synchros, such as Lancea or your Gymir, plus it can combo well with your Ice Barrier Tokens to make Ravenous Crocodragon Archethys. Freeze out any hope for your opponent of winning, with the help of the new and improved Ice Barrier archetype!
