Everyone hates a good control deck.

Strategic Summary:
Welcome to today’s hate-inspiring CDP, and this time we’re diving into the world of floodgates, backed by the Decisive Battle of Golgonda. This Continuous Spell is core to today’s strategy, as it can protect card(s) you control from being destroyed by battle or card effect by sending a Albaz Fusion from your Extra Deck to the GY instead. Since these Albaz Fusions also have effects that trigger in the GY, your opponent may be left scratching their head, trying to find a way out of a quagmire. What exactly does Golgonda protect? It protects Inspector Boarder, locking down monster effect activations. It protects Gozen Match or Rivalry of Warlords, locking your opponent’s board. It protects There Can Be Only One and Summon Limit, which add arbitrary restrictions to what plays your opponent can make. And with the power of Gallant Granite, you even have consistent access to Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo. All of that is a headache for most strategies, but if you back those control floodgates with a slew of Fusion monsters, you’re set to achieve victory.
Now there was one major problem when I was working on crafting this build: how do you actually win if you get into a stalling situation? This was why it was shelved for a while and even made it into my April Fools video earlier this month. But I think I found the answer, and that is by including another win condition that doesn’t need monsters: Cauldron of the Old Man. You see, each turn it adds a counter, and then you can choose to burn the opponent or gain LP for each counter. It sounds simple, but if you have Golgonda protecting your board and a slew of other cards slowing down the opponent, you can slowly whittle down the opponent until they have nothing left. That’s why I added them after the long 47-turn duel featured in the video… and how this deck made it off the shelved list! So hope you enjoy this full profile, so don’t forget to worship at the shrine of Albaz before you head out.
Note: This build/profile was created prior to the April 2024 F/L list; therefore, you can swap out Summon Limit with Archnemeses Protos.

oh, here’s an idea for a future deck(s): Taking past structure decks and updating them.
I really want to see structure or starter decks like “Blaze of Destruction” get the Quincy-upgrade
Hm. Definitely something that could be cool. I’ve been toying with the idea of making another set of ‘Scripted Duel’ decks, for funsies, similar to the Synchro VS Xyz set that Konami recently made. That seems to be a similar idea.
