“Check out our new Freight, Donner!”

Strategic Summary:
Today’s Creative Deck Profile centers on the Fur Hire archetype, after it received two legacy support cards since the last time I covered it in a profile. The Fur Hire archetype consists of a bunch of monsters of different Types, with most offering an effect to Special Summon another Fur Hire from the hand, and a second effect that triggers when another Fur Hire is Special Summoned. For example, whenever another Fur Hire is Special Summoned while you control Filo, Messenger Fur Hire, you get to Special Summon a different Fur Hire from your GY. Or take Recon, Scout Fur Hire, which destroys a Set card when another is Special Summoned. All of these monsters Fur Hire are led by Folgo, Justice Fur Hire, a Link-3 monster made with 3 monsters of different Types. When Link Summoned, Folgo lets you Special Summon a Fur Hire from your deck with a different Type than the monsters used for its Link Summon, and additionally, it lets you draw up to 3 cards when a card your opponent controls is destroyed by battle or card effect.
Now you might be asking yourself, are there any other payoffs from Special Summoning Fur Hire monsters, and the answer is yes! Rafale, Champion Fur Hire gives you an excavated card off the top of your deck when Special Summoned, as well as an effect to negate an activated monster effect, while Wiz, Sage Fur Hire gives you bonus LP when Special Summoned and an effect to negate an activated Spell/Trap. The newest member of this payoff crew is Rex, Freight Fur Hire, which tutors a Fur Hire Spell/Trap when summoned. Additionally, Rex can be banished from the GY to Special Summon a different Fur Hire from your GY, giving you another way to trigger all of your Fur Hire effects during the opponent’s turn. The second new card of note is Donner, Dagger Fur Hire, a Link-2 monster that can Tribute any monster to Special Summon a Fur Hire from the GY, or you can Special Summon 2 if you tributed a Link Monster such as itself. Combine this with a Fur Hire monster you summoned from the deck with Tri-Brigade Airborne Assault, and you’re set to trigger some Fur Hire effects and make your Folgo! The last new card to note is Couple of Aces. This EARTH Fairy lets you take a big chance on a coinflip, but since Folgo can let you draw 3 cards if you destroy that Couple of Aces later in the turn, you will still break even if you get a tad unlucky! Join this skyfang crew, if yer ‘Fur Hire’!
