Strategic Summary:

Welcome back for the anthesis of everything Umi as we kick off the week returning to Fire King Island with the help of an assortment of additional archetypes and engines. Alright, now that you’re back, let’s talk about this abomination I’ve been having a ton of fun with.

The Fire King strategy offers quite a few benefits, from both Fire King Courtier Ulcanix and Legendary Fire King Ponix each serving as starters for combos that can range far and wide. But were you aware they could easily bridge into other summons as well, with their Beasts, Beast-Warriors, and Winged Beasts at their disposal? For example, you can leverage Ponix to tutor Fire King Sanctuary and therefore Island, then destroy Ponix to tutor Sacred Fire King Garunix, summon it then destroy Ulcanix to also get Fire King High Avatar Garunix to your board. From there, those 2 Level 8 FIRE Winged Beasts could turn into Sky Striker Ace – Camellia to access the full Yummy combo. Or, if you need to nuke the board, they can make Garunix Eternity, Hyang of the Fire Kings. Or, if you’re ready to begin Link Summoning, you can make Tri-Brigade Arms Mouser instead, eventually leading to Tri-Brigade Kitt on your board summoning a free Ancient Warriors Oath – Double Dragon Lords.

Now the beauty of the deck I’m presenting today is that none of these plays actually require you to begin with that first copy of Ponix – there’s plenty of other onramps. Yummy decks do just fine at making their Link and Synchro plays with a sole copy of a Yummy, and Fire King can do some cool things when combined with Jurrac Megalo and/or Miscellaneousaurus and add the threat of an incoming Jurrac Meteor. But as you’ll see in the replays, there’s quite a few interactions this type of kitchen sink strategy offers that you might not find elsewhere. In what other deck could your Meteor bomb the board and leave you with a Cupsy★Yummy Way? After all, this is a really fun amalgamation of a lot of engines, standing in contrast to my last ‘pure’ Atlantis take, so hope you enjoy, and catch you next time with a brand new archetype from BETB!
