Strategic Summary:
The Darklord archetype has existed for quite some time now, and it may be the best archetype at reinventing itself with each wave of legacy support. This group of DARK Fairies first revolved around gaining effects after being summoned from the GY, then everything changed as new support gave them the ability to copy fallen Darklord Spells/Traps in your GY at the cost of LP rather than the typical activation cost. Finally, the theme has entered its third iteration, seamlessly adding Tribute and Fusion summoning to the mix. Tribute Summoning is achieved through the help of Angel O1 (YGOrg Translation), a newly revealed LIGHT Fairy that grants an extra tribute summon while easily being summoned from the hand. Fusion Summoning is the name of the game with the new support in Rise of the Duelist. The First Darklord now commands your forces, plus the added benefit of Athena dipping your Darklord Superbia in and out of the GY. But it’s Condemmed Darklord itself who carries duels for this theme now, providing Tribute-less summons of your main monster, Darklord Morningstar which ties everything together with insane summoning straight from the deck. Embrace your fallen ancestry and rise once more to the sound of wingbeats as the Darklords redeem and reinvent themselves once more!
