Strategic Summary:
Welcome to today’s CDP, featuring the Cyber Style strategy that combines the Cyber Dragon and Cyberdark archetypes into one cohesive build. If you want to check out my latest Cyber Style build prior to the new ALIN Support, be sure to check that out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnOHJP_s-_w . Now that you’re back, let’s talk strategy.
The Cyber Style deck aims to leverage Fusion Summonning, equipping Dragons and Machines to your Cyberdarks, then winning the duel through wars of attrition. The best boss monster they have nowadays is Cyberdarkness Dragon, a Fusion that requires 5 Cyberdark monsters as material, because it can negate the activation of any card or effect by sending an Equip Card you control to the GY. This effect isn’t once per turn, so combining it with things like Therion ‘ King’ Regulus that naturally Equip a Machine gives you a second negate from what would otherwise be a one-off. If this is your primary boss, you need a good way to access him, and that’s where a combo started with Cyberdark Horizon comes in. It can send both a LIGHT and DARK Machine, one from your hand and one from the Deck, to tutor a Machine Cyber monster and send one from your Extra Deck to the GY. This plays into the new monsters in Alliance Insight extremely well, so let’s dive into those.
First up is Cyberdark Wurm (YGOrg Translation), a new Level 5 DARK Machine that can Special Summon itself from the GY by sending a Cyber Dragon monster from the Deck to the GY, then it recovers a Cyber S/T from your GY. While this is a Once per Duel effect, one turn can be all you need when it also is a building block towards Cyber Dragon Infinity. The other new card is much less combo-centric, supporting instead the Cyber Dragon playstyle of breaking boards. Cyber Jormungand (YGOrg Translation)r can Special Summon itself from the hand when the opponent controls a monster, Special Summoning a Cyber Dragon from your deck as well for the effort. Lastly, it can return a Cyber Dragon you control to tutor or recover Polymerization! To get us back to the plot, let’s talk about the last major hurdle this deck overcomes – how to get the necessary Fusion Material. The key already exists – Cyberdark Chimera, which sends a S/T to the GY to tutor Power Bond AND give you the ability to Fusion Summon using monsters in your GY once later in the turn. In the standard combo you’ll see in many of the replays, this means accumulating your 5 Cyberdarks in the GY over the turn, Power Bonding into your Cyberdarkness, and watching the opponent squirm. Or, you can even upgrade your Cyberdarkness into the Unaffected by opponent’s card effects Cyberdark End Dragon. Unleash the power of Cyber Style, in style!

This is garbage, you are supposed to play Cyber Dragon with the few good Cyberdark cards as a package, not the opposite
You definitely can and potentially should if you are playing competitively. But as this profile shows, there are some things that Cyberdarkness Dragon can do as a multi-negate endboard option that you’re able to combo into. Finally, it’s the playstyle Konami intended when they merged the two strats with Horizon and Cyberdark End, so while the newest ALIN stuff does support a more Cyber Dragon-focused build like the Tactical Decks, the new support cards still support that merged strategy.
But don’t worry, I’m sure I’ll cover Cyber Dragon with the small CD engine at some point, as these new cards give it quite a few new combos and plays!
