Machines augmented by Dragons? Meet the Cyber Style!
Replays:
Strategic Summary:
With the recent Cyberdark support cards finally being released to the OCG, I thought it would be a good time to showcase the power of the new support and some of the tech options you can employ when trying these mechanized critters out. But first – an overview of the theme. The Cyberdark archetype features DARK Machines that equip Level 3 or lower Dragons when they are summoned. During one of the prior waves of legacy support, the Cyberdark archetype got 2 dragons of their own, Cyberdark Cannon and Cyberdark Claw! Each has a discard effect to tutor either a Cyberdark Monster or a Cyberdark Spell/Trap, so together they add consistency while also offering deck or extra deck thinning when a monster equipped with them attacks PLUS they both have an additional effect when sent to the GY while equipped. The newest support cards came in the form of even more search power, such as Cyberdark World (YGOrg Translation) or Cyberdark Horizon (YGOrg Translation), giving the deck an incredible boost to accomplish its gameplan hyper consistently.
But what else can the deck do besides search? Well this theme is a Fusion one, headlined by three big dragons. Cyberdark Dragon is a Fusion of the 3 OG Cyberdarks and equips any Dragon from the GY when summoned (and gains additional ATK), and is primarily Fusion Summoned by the Spell card Cyberdark Impact or my Fusion spell of choice, Overload Fusion. Cyberdarkness Dragon is a Fusion of 5 Cyberdark monsters, and it equips any Dragon OR Machine when summoned, but it also has a quick effect to negate an activated effect by sending any Equip card to the GY. And then there’s the new boss, Cyberdark End Dragon (YGOrg Translation), a 5000 point behemoth made up of Cyberdark Dragon and Cyber End Dragon, that is unaffected by all of your opponent’s effects. Additionally, if he gets multiple equip cards, it can even attack that many times per turn. Together, each of these boss monsters fills a niche to serve as a capstone of your gameplan, but until then, don’t be afraid to rely on Dragon Buster Destruction Sword or Lose 1 Turn until you have all of the right pieces in play. Mechanize your Dragons into Cyberdarkness!
Author’s Note: EDOpro does not yet have Cyberdark Chimera (YGOrg Translation) as a playable card on the system, so I did not include it in this build or in my video. However, when it becomes available in the real game, I would still highly recommend relying on Overload Fusion as your primary Fusion Spell rather than trying to incorporate Power Bond. When you get your hands around these cards, best of luck trying them out for yourselves!
