Charmer Elementsaber, ft. BLDZ Support [CDP]

    Strategic Summary:

Welcome back for today’s CDP, and this time we’re highlighting the Charmer theme once again in celebration of their three new support cards that were just revealed. If you missed my last profile covering their new Structure Deck, be sure to check that out here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQQW56W3rvg . Now that you’re back, let’s start with their new LINK-4: Four Charmers in Profusion (YGOrg Translation). This new boss monster is absolutely amazing, having a Quick Effect to summon 2 monsters from your GY, either with the same Attribute but different Types or different Attributes but the same Types. Since Spellcaster themes naturally love to make Selene, Queen of the Master Magicians, the LINK-4 is nothing to build up to, and this just lets you beef up your board with stronger monsters. Secondly, and this is the best card they received in my opinion, we have Possessed Resonance (YGOrg Translation), which can Summon a Charmer or Familiar-Possessed monster from your deck with the same Attribute as any monster on the field, plus it can be banished from the GY to change the battle position of a monster. In other words, this just sets up for you to steal an opponent’s monster before continuing on your merry way. Lastly, the theme received Familiars of the Spiritual Arts (YGOrg Translation), a new Level 4 that tutors a Possessed S/T on summon, plus it can become any Type/Attribute. Together, these cards add a ton of consistency, while also filling a few gaps in the Charmer toolbox.

Now, while the Charmer strategy has always been able to beef up all monsters by a lot of ATK points due to Awakening of the Possessed, I wanted to push that even futher, so I turned to another multi-Attribute theme – the Elementsabers. Designed as a support archetype to help the Elemental Lords, the Elementsaber theme is primarily useful due to its Field Spell, Palace of the Elemental Lords. Palace boosts the ATK/DEF of all monsters based on the Attributes in your GY, it can tutor an Elementsaber each turn, and if an Elementsaber would send a card from the hand to the GY to activate an effect, it allows you to send from the Deck instead. The primary pairing for this is of course Elementsaber Lapauila Mana, which brings itself out by sending 2 Elementsabers to the GY. Once on the board it protects itself and all Elementsabers, which can be really helpful when you have Profusion to bring back the smaller Elementsabers you sent to the GY for its summon. The other Elementsabers can also be leveraged for their disruptive effects, whether it is Elementsaber Lapauila to negate a S/T, or Elementsaber Moelhu to flip a monster face-down. Attributes unite under the helm of the Charmers!

Adding that one Hiita would not kill the deck and it would not feel like someone’s left behind. :<
