CDP: Blackwing Raidraptor Allure Queen

Strategic Summary:

Welcome back to my first CDP of July, and I’m storming back onto the scene with one of my beloved older archetypes, the Blackwings. This DARK/Winged Beast theme typically relies upon DARK Synchros, but in today’s build, I’ve given them an Xyz Twist. The centerpiece of the Blackwing Deck that sets it apart is Black Whirlwind, a Continuous Spell that each time you Normal Summon, tutors a Blackwing monster with less ATK than the summoned monster. With access to additional Normal Summons via the effects of Blackwing – Simoon the Poison Wind, or Blackwing – Nothung the Starlight, you will have no problem grabbing any monster you need while assembling a board. What type of board do the Blackwing give you access to? Well in-theme, Black-Winged Assault Dragon applies heavy pressure to the opponent by inflicting damage for each monster effect activated and Blackwing Full Armor Master is an unaffected beast. Out of theme, that’s where the Raidraptors come in.

The Raidraptor archetype are a group of DARK/Winged Beasts that aim to Xyz Summon and make the most of Rank-Up-Magic Spell cards. As you’ll note in the replays, the ideal endboard for combos ends on not only the Blackwing bosses, but also Raidraptor – Ultimate Falcon and a Raidraptor – Arsenal Falcon, the second ready to be ranked up into D/D/D Duo-Dawn King Kali Yuga during the opponent’s turn! If that isn’t enough, the deck can also put out Raidraptor – Final Fortress Falcon as well, not to mention back those unaffected monsters with the support of Raidraptor’s Phantom Knights Claw to negate a monster effect. All of this has been possible for a while, but where this build really starts to take off is when you incorporate the new Allure Queen cards. You see, Chaotic Allure Queen can summon itself and a copy of Allure Queen LV7 at the small cost of a DARK discard, giving you 2 Level 7s to make your first Arsenal Falcon and begin your combos. From there, the deck settles into a healthy flurry of Special Summoning. Accessing Chaotic is easy – Allure Dance or Allure Palace is all you need, plus Dance can even give you additional material to work with to add an S:P Little Knight to your endboard, if you feel so inclined. Take to the skies, with a modern Blackwing build!
