CDP: Bonding Water Dragon Ryu-Ge, ft. DBCB Support

    Let the Ryu-Ge empower Dino-Chemistry!

    Replays:

    Strategic Summary:

Welcome back for another Creative Deck Profile, and today I’m featuring the Bonding Water Dragon series alongside the new Ryu-Ge archetype from the upcoming Crossover Breakers Deck Build Pack. the Bonding series of Spell/Trap cards offers different chemical combinations of Hydrogeddon, Oxygeddon, and Duoterion to Special Summon Water Dragon and Water Dragon Cluster. For example, Bonding – DHO combines one of each while Bonding – D20 uses 2 Duoterion and 1 Oxygeddon. Once Water Dragon Cluster, a Level 10 Sea Serpent, hits the field, it can be split into up 2 copies of Water Dragon, which each reduce the ATK of Pyro and FIRE monsters to 0. Or just serve as watery fodder for an Xyz Summon! While this theme has never been fledged out enough to consitute its own consistent strategy, it now has a friend in the Ryu-Ge archetype, since your chemical materials are all Dinosaurs while the bosses are Sea Serpents! The Ryu-Ge just add Wyrms to the mix!

Speaking of the Ryu-Ge, let’s take a moment to highlight my last profile, back when the Org translated the theme as Apodrakosis. You can read all about it here: https://ygorganization.com/cdp_apodrakosisvv/. All the tenets of the pure build are back, just this build has the addition of the theme’s final card, Ryu-Ge Eternal Recurrence of Trailokya (YGOrg Translation), a Trap that summons a Ryu-Ge from your hand, deck, or GY, while also having a GY effect to recycle a Ryu-Ge Continuous Spell from your GY, banishment, or field. Armed with the power that 3 3000 ATK behemoths can add to your board, this deck can apply pressure in an instant, while also turning to the Field Spell to load a Bonding Dinosaur into the GY while adding a Sea Serpent Water Dragon to hand, if the conditions are right. Plus, Duoterion’s effect to discard itself plays nicely with Yuanba, Abyssal Ryu-Ge of Serpentfall (YGOrg Translation), which needs 2 or more monsters to be sent from the hand or deck to the GY to Special Summon itself! Remember your AP Chemistry teacher when you combine the Ryu-Ge with the Bonding cards!

I’m on mobile a lot when visiting. I either have videos blocked or don’t have time to scrub through. An image is a simple tap to copy and save and then look at later.
