    Strategic Summary:

Welcome back for another Creative Deck Profile, and this time we’re featuring the brand new support wave for the S-Force archetype that recently made its debut to the TCG in Chaos Origins! The S-Force theme is best known for its control over columns, with many monsters applying debuffs or restrictions on opponent’s monsters in the same column as an S-Force monster. For example, S-Force Edge Razor prevents them from being used for a LINK-3 or higher Link Summon or S-Force Gravitino makes all such monsters be banished when each leaves the field. To support this strategy, the theme received one extremely strong Main Deck Monster in S-Force Signify, a Level 3 LIGHT Warrior that tutors an S-Force on summon, then draws a card if in the same column as an opponent’s monster. Combine this with the pre-existing S-Force Retroactive, and you can immediately make a LINK-2 summon into S-Force Nightcatcher, tutoring any S-Force S/T on summon… such as the most powerful card of the new wave, S-Force Origin.

Origin may seem simple at first, summoning any S-Force from hand, GY, or banishment, but where it truly shines is that it also can be banished from the GY to setup your GY and banishment with S-Force cards, setting up for future summons of S-Force Pla-Tina and S-Force Lapcewell later in the turn, which can summon an S-Force from your banishment or GY respectively. Lastly, I also want to callout the new TCG World Premiere Card Imposter Shift, a Continuous Spell that extends your plays while also providing a de-incentive to targeting your monsters with monster effects when they’re in a different column. All of these in-theme plays are fine, but definitely on the weaker end of the spectrum, but isn’t it great that they have so many good Type/Attribute/Level combinations within the S-Force archetype?

That’s right, with Lapcewell being a Level 6 LIGHT Fiend, the Fiendsmith engine is fully on the table, allowing you to add a D/D/D Wave High King Caesar to your endboard. Then, Pla-Tina is a Level 6 DARK Spellcaster, allowing you to leverage Dark Magician of Destruction, The Gaze of Timeaeus, and Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon as another powerful supporting cast. Then the third and final engine I’ve deployed, for extra degeneracy, is the Synchrons, led by both Assault Synchron and Revolution Synchron. The first can combine with any Level 5 or 6 monster, and the second with any Level 4 or 5, to make Ancient Fairy Dragon or Ancient Fairy Life Dragon. This is important, as the first grants you access to Secret Village of the Spellcasters, and the second option gives you a free draw for your troubles. All in all, these new cards may not be the flashiest out of the new set, but they certainly give the S-Force a new chance to show off its potential!
