Strategic Summary:
Welcome to today’s Creative Deck Profile, this time taking on the new dual archetypes of Diabellestarr and Snake-Eye, and leveraging them to empower a tried and true Invoked build. The Invoked archetype centers around the Fusion Spell Invocation, which can use materials from either GY as long as you are Fusion Summoning an Invoked monster. To access Invocation, you’ll most likely turn to Aleister the Invoker, a Level 4 Spellcaster that can be tutored by Magical Meltdown and just turors an Invocation when Normal Summoned. Many builds involving the Invoked in the past leverage basic Link Monsters for additional Fusion material and today’s build is no exception: Secure Garndna and Salamangreat Almiraj provide access to the LIGHT and FIRE Invoked Fusions, each of which is considered to be the most powerful. But today, I’m not stopping there, because I also want to deploy the boss monster of this archetype, Invoked Elysium. This Level 10 Fusion Monster is made with any Invoked monster and a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, and it is treated as all Attributes while on the field. Additionally, it can target an Invoked monster you control or in your GY (including itself) to banish it and all monsters your opponent controls that shares an attribute. In other words, Elysium can banish all of the opponent’s monsters at your beck and call. Plus, Elysium also serves as the perfect monster to utilize Fuh-Rin-Ka-Zan, a Normal Trap Card that requires a face-up WIND/WATER/EARTH/FIRE monster to activate. When you can activate it, you have the choice of effects that mirror some of the most powerful Spell Cards ever created.
Now enough about the old Invoked cards, let’s talk about the two new archetypes, since that is probably what drew you into this profile. The Snake-Eye archetype consists primarily of Level 1 FIRE Pyro monsters that each carry an effect to send themselves and another face-up card you control to the GY to Special Summon a new Snake-Eye monster from the deck. They’re led by a Dragon boss monster, Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon (YGOrg Translation), which can target a monster in either GY or field to move it to the S/T Zone as a Continuous Spell. During the opponent’s turn, Flamberge can Special Summon a Monster Card treated as a Continuous Spell, giving you a roundabout way to recover fallen bosses or even your opponent’s greatest threats. Besides the monsters, the Snake-Eye theme is supported by a Field Spell which also places monsters in the S/T Zone, The Shrine of Serpentine Sight – Snake-Eye (YGOrg Translation), and a Trap Card that serves a similar function, The Glaring Ruler Snake-Eyes (YGOrg Translation). But most importantly, this theme is directly supported by the Sinful Spoils archetype of Spell Cards, as well as the Diabellestarr theme.
Right now, there is only one Diabellestarr monster, but something tells me that will change in the future. Diabellestarr the Dark Witch (YGOrg Translation) is a Level 7 Spellcaster that can Special Summon itself by sending any other card from your hand or field to the GY. When you do, she tutors a Sinful Spoils Spell/Trap from your deck, and there’s a bunch of great options. The Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye (YGOrg Translation) is up first, as it sends any face-up card you control to the GY to Special Summon a Level 1 FIRE from your deck. For example, if you summon Snake-Eye Oark (YGOrg Translation), its effect can then trigger to Special Summon a Snake-Eye Excel (YGOrg Translation)and keep the advantage flowing. On the other hand, turn to Sinful Spoils of Doom – Luciela (YGOrg Translation), which can target a Level 7 or higher Spellcaster such as Diabellestarr the Dark Witch to reduce the ATK of all face-up monsters your opponent controls by its ATK, and if any monsters are reduced to 0 ATK, they are destroyed. All of these themes together may seem like a weird combination of random engines, but this hodgepodge of archetypes actually functions quite well, with the Invoked serving as the win condition and primary boss monsters, while the rest of the deck pushes your advantage further while keeping your disruption options open. Enter Elysium with the Invoked, Snake-Eyes, and Diabellestarr!
